Fill ME up. I need lashes!!…read more At this point all I can afford is mascara. Not lashes. But one day I'm going to have lashes again. Why? Because they made me feel pretty. Beautiful sometimes. And right now I need all the pick me ups I can get. Lashes are super tacky sometimes and look like massive caterpillars sitting on someone's eyes. But not lashes by V. V always made me look so natural that people were like WHAT?!? Those are extensions?! And I took care of my lashes so I didn't have issues with my natural lashes when I did have to remove them. Which atikl breaks my heart. V became a friend. A strong woman to lean on, who gave me strength and encouragement. Who made me laugh to the point of tears sometimes. And who always made me feel the most beautiful when she did my lashes. If you need lash extensions, please please go see V. She's incredibly talented and she sees your features and how your lashes will look and your brows. OMG my brows and my daughter's will never. Ever. Ever be touched by another. V does the best. This is a serene spa like environment. Smells good, quiet, everything about it is soothing. Even when my brows are being waxed lol. V makes it the best!!!

Four stars for Kimmie's patience! I visit Portland every summer for work, and was in search of a…read morelash technician while here, and came across Miss Knockout (after analyzing many Yelp reviews + noticing her experience with Asian eyes). I opted for a textured volume cat eye style, and Kimmie delivered - they initially looked amazing. Now, here is the explanation for why I have to ultimately dock two stars. While we're still ironing out lash retention issues (my right eye seems to be shedding more quickly than my left one - maybe the heat and humidity of Portland summers is the culprit?), Kimmie has been understanding and has scheduled me in for quick touch ups. I understand Kimmie has an extremely busy personal and professional life, but for me to have to take time off work to Uber to her salon is also frustrating for me as well. Even after my quick touch-up, I am still experiencing some lash shed, which should not occur so quickly. A fan even shed the same day of the touch-up which is frustrating. I've never really experienced this issue with any other lash tech, from LA to Portland. In fact, after my last touch-up just two days ago, I have already managed to collect at least eight (!) more fans that have shedded. However, I feel bad about constantly contacting the salon for the same issue. It's probably frustrating on both of our ends. I just want to note that I am a back sleeper and extremely careful about not getting my lashes wet, even when showering. So I know that my lash care is not the culprit - I suspect maybe my lashes have not been cleaned and prepped properly beforehand. After reading other reviews, it seems like there is one other general consensus - perhaps the lash glue MK uses is not of the best quality, as retention is dismal. Also, another small issue that rubbed me the wrong way is that when I called, the lady over the phone offered a 10% off promo for new customers, but when it came time to pay for my service, the 10% discount wasn't honored. I would've used that 10% discount as a cash tip towards Kimmie anyway, so I think ultimately it was a small gesture that she should have honored. Oh well. Regardless of not honoring the promo, I tipped anyway, at the end of the day. On a positive note, the MK space is very well-appointed and beautifully decorated, with snacks and drinks for waiting clients. I appreciated this little touch and level of customer service. And because Kimmie is a hardworking business owner, I hope for the sake of her business that it thrives!

After reading lots of reviews and analyzing photos, I came across Miss Knockout. I made an appointment with Kimmie to have a new full set of lashes (after a long hiatus I was ready to get them back!!!), and brow tint/trearment. Let me just tell you besides being absolutely lovely and fun to chat with, she is amazing at her craft! My lashes and brows look amazing, and I can't be more thrilled with the results. The decor is so elegant and pretty, you will feel amazing when you leave!

She gave me a curly cut and charged me nearly $120. - I have wavy hair but sometimes straighten it - the layers in the back ended in the middle of my head and I couldn't straighten it for 6 months because it looked awful - it wouldn't lay flat and had a huge dip towards the bottom. It looked insane. - She cut so much from underneath my hair looked stringy on all sides when wavy and uneven on the sides if straightened. - Front layers around my face were completely uneven - I went to a different stylist and she pointed out everything she still couldn't fix and how the front "blending" wasn't blended, and showed where I had pieces that were still very short on one side and longer on another. After 6 months of growing it out. I work in a professional environment and got feedback from my manager that I should "spring for a decent haircut" after she cut my hair. This wasn't inexpensive at all. Emily seemed distracted and had mentioned that she relocated from a different salon in the city and hadn't brought any clients along with her. She is a nice lady but it is not professional, honest and borders on unethical for her to present herself as an experienced, seasoned professional and charge a rate appropriate for that skill level only to start the appointment late and completely ruin my hair for the better part of a year.
