This facial was... ok. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: - Nice friendly people - Convenient location - Great ambience, not super high end and a little kitschy, like a cool aunt's crystal shop with Buddha heads, incense and crystals vs an actual high end spa - the skin analysis machine is nifty and tells you what biological age your skin is, its a fun thing to do when you go in, although I suspect it isn't really that helpful because most skin issues are apparent clearly with the naked eye - Price is about average and is what you would pay for a decent facial in Miami. Cons: - Nice and friendly aesthetician but she had only been an aesthetician for two months at the time of my facial. At $280 a facial, I better be getting a seasoned professional who has been in the biz for several years - I was told that the facial was with Tatum and Callie and on the phone the receptionist said that Tatum would be involved in the facial but when I got there, she was involved only while I was getting my "skin evaluation" done. - Aesthetician was very sweet but had zero answers to any pertinent questions I had about the actual products. Like, I knew more about the products than she did. She literally could not even give me a proper answer to what any of the products did, nothing factual and nothing but "it's a nourishing oil". err... ok? - No facial massage, no facial touching other than to apply products and use the vibrating exfoliation device. ZERO. No relaxation. At one point, she turned on this LED light for my face and told me she'd be back in 30 minutes and she had to "clean up" ... like?! Not the chic high end vibes I was hoping for. - There was no timer for this LED light treatment. I am positive that I did not have it on for 30 minutes. - They did not price anything out for me. They added on the LED light treatment to my facial without telling me it would be an additional $85. Not about the money, its just impolite to tack things on without letting the client know. - There was a phone that was continuously going off in the room. I wasn't sure how or why a person was allowed to have a phone on loud in a spa. All over the world, spa etiquette demands that everyone turn their phone silent to be respectful of the other clients. - The receptionist didn't remember or didn't make a note on my profile when I called that I was a referral and didn't apply the discount until I reminded her after my facial when I was paying. Now, I'm a bit of a spa buff and have visited 5 star spas all over the world, including the La Mer spas, the eSpa and the Vichy spas. I do understand that the States doesn't do high end luxury the way that Bali or the Middle East does, but the ambience, the products, the whole package was a solid 5 out of 10 and my skin looks... fine. Would I return? Meh. Probably not. I'd go to the Spa at the Mandarin Oriental instead. read more

After safekeeping a giftcard for over a year I finally booked an appointment (very easy to do) at Skin by Tatum with Nicole and I could not be happier! The consultation was a conversation that didn't end in a pitch and felt super NOT judgemental. We discussed products, concerns, and goals. I was completely at ease and felt like I was in safe hands (which is not always the case when it comes to facials and melanated skin). The spa has a relaxing vibe with some welcomed flare. The staff was kind and approachable and greeted me immediately. My only complaint about the facility is the entrance door, I thought it was a back door! Literally not an actual issue, just something I find confusing (Pandemic Brain?). When it came to my treatments, I was very comfortable throughout the session and felt informed. There was the perfect mix of information and relaxing silence. Tip: this was the longest spa appointment I've ever had--they are thorough! I absolutely love this place! The facials are nearly 3 hours and they really pay attention to detail and give your skin the care it deserves. The results are immeadielty visible. I always leave glowing and get compliments on my skin the next day. Sure its a little pricey but I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for" and when it comes to your skin it should be nothing but the best products, treatments, and care. I am not a fan of writing negative reviews but after coming here a few times I am completely disappointed by the lack of organization. I made an appointment for 4pm (I had to pick up my son at a certain timeframe). The day of my appointment I was asked to come in earlier due to a mix up which I agreed to and worked out. Then I offered to come in even sooner and Maria said that I can come but your appointment at 3:15 so I got to the spa at 3 and waited almost 45 mins. I asked Maria if it was going to be a long wait and she said that my therapist was just topping off the previous client before me. At this point, I was stressing that I was going to be late to pick up my son (after rearranging my schedule) and being on vacation. It is not appropriate to wait for a service that costs $250+. Not only that but Maria is rude! She was arguing with me on the start time of my appointment and questioning why I would schedule an appointment around the time I have to pick up my son. I am not sure why I had to explain to her my personal schedule, but I did accommodate the change from my original appointment time at 4 PM because of the schedule mixup. Overall, I was looking forward to my facial, but I won't be making the trek down to south beach anymore. Very sad. read more

Wow wow wow! That's all I have to say about my first time experience here! I visited earlier this week as a birthday self care day. It was worth every penny. I was warmly greeted by Danielle at the front desk she was very bubbly and pleasant. She answered my questions and gave me a short form to fill out with my skincare history. Then I met Cristina who was my esthetician for the day. She went over all my skin care needs and concerns. She TOOK her time. My appointment was 11am and I didn't finish until after 2. So they take their time!! The facial she gave me was the osmosis and the LED. It was so great! She was so gentle and paid attention to my needs. I finished my facial and to my surprise Tatum helped me with checking out to pay. She was SO nice and even gave me a small gift when she realized it was my birthday! A fine balance of natural & clinical products as well as elements of massage and relaxation are all a part of even the entry level massage here. I went for the first time last year when psoriasis had taken over my face and no dermatologist could help me. Within weeks of my first facial and Osmosis daily products, I was 95% better. All I have to say is WOW after seeing Tatum. I was so impressed by how much knowledge she has on skin and skin care products. When I first saw her, my skin was very dehydrated and irritated. During a short getaway to Miami, I knew my last to do on vaca was to visit Skin by Tatum (SbT). I found out about SbT during a rare Snapchat story when Jonathan Cheban wasn't raving and ranting about food, but instead, his facial at SbT. My experience was nothing short of 5 stars. I came in and was greeted warmly and promptly by Madeline. We went to an uber techy machine that scanned my face and took a photo which showed my sun damage, wrinkles, age spots and other really cool, yet unnerving things about my face. Madeline and I talked about my face, my concerns and what we were going to do that day. I was wowed when Tatum herself came up to me to discuss my face and what treatment I needed. I think it is excellent work ethic when the owner is working and actually interested in her clientele and takes the time to just listen and give her advice. I had an ultrasonic treatment with red and yellow light and a seaweed mask - the process was so luxurious and just wow. Also, Madeline was very sweet and we had a nice chat during the facial. I left SbT glowing without any redness from extractions - it was a new experience not having the painful extractions. I glowed that day and the day after, however, as much as I loved the experience, a short period after, the build up that couldn't get removed without extractions surfaced and I needed to go to my trusty facialist to dig into my face (literally). If you are okay with a facial with no extractions or have good skin that just needs maintenance or are just looking for a "wow" facial experience, I highly recommend visiting SbT. If you want the nitty gritty/painful extractions because you haven't been blessed with perfect skin, I would think about whether SbT is right for you. Finally, a quick tip - my overall experience was 2.5 hours (I thought it would be a little over an hour). To me, this was amazing that I was taken care of so well and not rushed out, my advice is to plan accordingly. read more

After copious amounts of research, and a few good referrals, I was drawn to Skin by Tatum due to its' convenient location in Sunset Harbor. I was greeted (by name) by friendly staff members, and was immediately impressed with the zen energy, and positive vibes that came from the space. My esthetician was Dani, who was polite, knowledgeable, and genuinely knew what she was talking about without trying to sell, sell, sell. She asked very important open-ended questions regarding my skin care, and wanted to know what my intention was behind the service. While in my facial, the owner, Tatum, was in the room next to mine. As a health and fitness professional myself, I had been eavesdropping on Tatum's conversation with her client. Tatum not only knows her stuff about skin, but overall organic living, which is exactly what I preach with every single one of my clients. Wellness starts from within, and finding service providers with the same school of thought is difficult in Miami. For this reason alone, I would come back. Tatum has a great energy about her, cares about her staff, and wants her clients to be happy. I love this place, and I will be a customer for life. I came across Sbt while I was looking for a very good place for facials. I saw it on instagram. Jonathan Cheban was wearing a mask that I've never seen. After doing my own research I was happy to find out that this place was actually well reviewed and had an overall great experience with its clients. My specialist was Dezza super sweet and very knowledgeable about products and skin care. I was greeted by her and had a great chat after taking my picture on the vizio machine. I was very surprised about my own skin and some sun damaged and brown spots I have. Overall was a great experience. My face ended up glowy after my Hydro facial. I will be coming back to do the L. E. SoBe Calm may have moved and changed their name to Skin by Tatum since my last review, but the quality of service is still top notch. They are no longer on Alton and have now moved into the building in the Purdy/Sardinia/Pubbelly area. I actually love the new location because I find parking to be much easier. There is a Miami Beach garage around the corner from the entrance for $1 per hour. I've seen Madelline (Oh, gosh- I hope I spelled her name right!) a few times now for a brow shaping and I'm starting to think that it's time to completely abandon waxing because her work with a pair of tweezers is genius! My brows have been perfect each time, and they're shaped perfectly so that they're easy for me to maintain between visits. They do Gilt deals a lot, so if you're curious, buy a deal in there to check them out. The brow shaping is normally $35 which is on par with a lot of places that do it by hand, and even cheaper than some places on the beach that do waxing and threading. The Gilt deals usually knock off about ten bucks. I am now a regular customer with or without the deals because I'm convinced that there is no other place that will make my eyebrows look this good! Cherry on top is the vibe. Usually, it's just me and Madelline hanging out and chatting. Girl time + great brows + reasonable price = happiness! read more

Amazing experience! I'm so happy I found Skin by Tatum. I was used to European style facial, so facial here was totally different: no squeezing, no pain, no red skin, no blemishes. Tatum was using a lot of different products to open up pores and then some machine to suck out all the impurities. After we were finished, my pores were absolutely clean, skin was glowing... I walked home with no make up on( that doesn't happen too often to me lol) and felt great. Tatum was very friendly. She did deep analysis of my skin, gave me a lot of useful advises about taking care of my skin. Just LOVE Skin by Tatum! Specifically, I really appreciate how professional and knowledgeable the staff is. I've had years of facials and honestly my skin is pretty good, but what they do takes it to the next level! For starters, that computerized skin analysis! #WakeUpCall! They also don't do extractions. I like that because usually when I have them done, my face is clean but red and swollen afterward and I need time to let the swelling go down before I go out in public. Lol. Instead, they use some type of electric "scraper" that gently removes the dead skin off the surface and if the blackhead or pimple is ready then it will come to the surface and be naturally debrided. As a result, my skin looks so nice and supple and most importantly CALM. I always go to work with just lip gloss afterward because my skin looks so dang good! I am so glad I paid a visit to this salon! It was such an educating experience to see the full analysis of my skin, from the sun damage, to the wrinkles to the multiple layers of dead skin - all very fascinating. I chose the customized younger looking you facial, which was exactly what I needed. This was a completely different facial than what I was used to. No painful squeezing, no red irritating skin when it was all over. Best Facial I've Ever Experienced. Thank god I stumbled across her website on a random google search. From the minute I walked in, Madeline and Tatum were super helpful, starting with my skin routine, my diet etc then moving on to the skin analysis. In depth Tatum went through all the details, explaining my skin to me, step by step. And this helped her decide, what treatment would be best. The facial was amazing from the hydrodebrasion, to the seaweed mask, Tatum explained every step and what she thought was best for me to do. She advised me on how to go about my facial cleansing routine not taking away any products I use but adding some new products in. I took all her advise and purchased 3 of her recommended products. It's been Less than a week, and although originally my skin broke out a little, overal it's so much better, it's softer, the pores are smaller, my make up is sitting better. Then I got a detailed explanation of what Madeleine was going to do. I had a very relaxing experience - even though the rooms aren't private it was a great energy and space, more cozy than crowded. It felt intimate and like I was part of a members only club or VIP room without the velvet rope attitude. Most importantly my skin hasn't looked or felt this good in a long time. I had my osmosis facial done by Deza (she's amazing) she literally took her time to look up everything i've used on my skin for the last couple of weeks. She went into extreme detail about everything she would do and genuinely cared about my skin and how I can improve it in the long run. Tatum was also wonderful! She gave me some samples and talked to me about my skin and the products that i should use, she didn't push her own products either.
