When Atma first opened, it was bright, fresh, polished and full of that exciting new salon energy. What it has become is a rather spectacular contrast. The salon now feels dingy, tired and desperately in need of a makeover. The first floor has an unfortunate dampness to it and smells less like a luxury salon and more like a wet kennel after a rainstorm. The two gentlemen stationed at the check in area, yes, you with the post Soviet war small round shaded eyeglasses, are about as welcoming as a pair of parking meters. Charm, warmth and grace appear to have been left somewhere in the previous decade. The hairdressers themselves do not exactly radiate the bright eyed energy one expects from a high end salon. The overall atmosphere feels tired and uninspired, which is hardly what you want when you are paying premium prices to look and feel fabulous. And then there is the price. Atma is charging luxury salon prices for an experience that increasingly feels anything but luxurious. The entire place has lost the freshness and polish that made it appealing in the first place. Atma does not need a minor refresh. It needs a full intervention, preferably before the place loses whatever glamour it had left. read more

She also cuts my sister's hair. We LOVE her!!!! Amazing and gorgeous don't even begin to describe my haircuts. As long as I have hair I will only go to Julia. There is such a chill relaxed vibe. Most stylish and clean haircut I've gotten in years. Arielle (@wolffsachs on IG) is a hair expert. They seem to know everything there is to know about shaping hair. Knows how to shape a cowlick so it lays down. Knows how to give a cut that will continue to grow in nicely over time. If you come in with a clear idea of what you want you'll leave happy. I asked for an androgynous look and I brought in pictures of someone with similar hair texture to mine. Months later I'm still having people ask me where I got my cut. Beware!!! Don't go here for hair extensions! I have been getting extensions done for many years and never experienced such poor service and quality at premium prices as I have at Atma. I went in for a consultation with Kaitlin and we had a lengthy conversation around my hair being awfully thin and breakage. She promised me there would be no issues putting in Bellami extension and she actually will be able to place them much better (smaller bond) and positioned in a way to better blend with my natural short hair. I was desperate to find a hairdresser who can install extensions while minimizing damage which is not an easy ask but considering they are charging north of $2K for them I believed I was in good hands. To say she overpromised and under delivered would be an understatement. My extensions are in and initially I feel happy being done after just having spent 6hours at the salon but immediately noticed that things were off. The next day I wrote Kaitlin that I felt the hair was super thin and poor quality and she ensured me it was premium hair and would pick up volume after a wash. I am still waiting for that volume to kick in but it gets worse. Within a few days an extension pulled out at the root. Of course the salon initially tried to blame me that I didn't "brush properly or used the wrong brush" which was not the case as I purchased the brush recommended by the salon. Kaitlin then goes to say that she added more pieces around the crown of my head despite it being thin so pretty much admitting that she knowingly added more to an already weak area where the extension eventually ripped out and left a hole. I consequently reach out to the salon and the manager/ owner not sure who exactly I spoke to was well aware of the incident, however even though she was briefed she didn't feel the need to proactively reach out to me another huge red flag on how seriously they take customer satisfaction. During our conversation she goes on and on explaining how she wants to accommodate me and make things right. I ended up making an appointment through her to come in to review things with Kaitlin as well as Sheenon the Creative Director. She wanted the creative Director to be present to review the work. I get to my appointment and Kaitlin had no idea I was coming, no sight of a creative director and I was left to wait for 20min. I ended up getting several pieces taken out as they were not placed properly, visible and snagged when wearing sunglasses. To my surprise the owner/ manager never followed up with me nor offered anything as a token of good faith but it gets better. All this adding to my overall frustration having fallen prey for a glitz and glamour salon with zero talent nor professional curtesy I started doing my own research on Bellami Hair and find out that they have 28 complains with the BBB. When I shared this with the owner she a) wasn't aware of any of it and b) said that the salon was transparent and disclosed who their vendor was so there is no liability. I agree that even though they were transparent the fact that she had no idea shows in my opinion negligence on their end and a lack of integrity in offering good products. When you pay a premium and go to what initially was positioned reputable salon as a customer you put your trust in the establishment having done their research.. The cherry on top of it all was that a few days after going in for the removal they canceled my blow out and make up appointment for New Years eve with initially no explanation. They even went as far to say that providing me with a two weeks cancelation notice was sufficient enough for me to make alternate arrangements. Beware of salons you see on IG it's all fake from the way they ask their clients to pose for pictures which are misleading, the lighting to enhance the colors and needless to say the interaction with the owner/ manager was just the icing on top. There is no regard for customer service nor holding themselves and their staff accountable to provide exceptional outcomes. Needless to say I will never return nor recommend this place to anyone! read more

Absolutely dreadful! I went in for highlights and came out with a nightmare! Not only did they burn my hair, leaving it damaged beyond repair and chunks of it started falling off! And as if that wasn't enough, the color ended up resembling a shade of radioactive orange, far from what I had in mind. Stay away unless you're aiming for a hair disaster! Complete disappointment! Showed the hairdresser the exact color I wanted, and he assured me it was achievable. But instead of delivering what was discussed, I walked out with a completely different color that wasn't even in the ballpark of what I asked for. My hair looked better before! Communication was non-existent, and the result was a far cry from the promised outcome. In addition, I was overcharged! Price-list says one thing but was charged way over it. They make their own prices and don't go by the price list. Beware of this salon! Their price list indicates one thing! 8/14/2019- TOP NOTCH SALON! I called Atma Beauty to schedule an appointment with Alessandro Persiale who had recently done my sister's hair and was highly recommended. I left a message. I received a text right away asking for details on the services I wanted. I typed that I wanted to book with Persiale. They forwarded the message to the front desk and I received a call right away. I spoke to Katrina. She was very helpful with booking my appointment and answering all my questions as a first time client regarding parking, services and an approximate price. My appointment was for the next day. I arrived at Atma 15 minutes prior to my appointment. I took a seat in their beautiful and chic salon. At 10am, I let them know I was there to see Persiale. I could see that he was already there. It was nice to know that he is punctual with his clients. He came up to me and introduced himself with a huge warm smile. He walked me over to his chair and offered me coffee. I had black coffee, which was delicious. We talked about what I wanted and what he was going to do. I walked in with my natural roots which are very dark and old school highlights that had turned orange and yellow tones. He did balayage highlights, then applied a gloss. After giving me the best shampoo ever!, he blow dried my hair. Now, let me say this, he blow dried my hair so quickly, no pulling, and gave my hair so much volume. I couldn't believe it. He didn't use a flat iron or anything. Then, he cut my hair in a modern long bob. At the end, Regia added some curls on my hair. I received various compliments on the hair from the hairstylists there. Once finished, I paid at the desk. I was given a Welcome to Atma Beauty package with some goodies. The staff here is wonderful. Everyone is professional and focused on their clients. The salon is immaculately clean. This experience was beyond my expectations, I couldn't be happier with the service and I'm in love with my hair. Oh Atma, and your beautiful IG posts, so appealing! I was really excited to try this beautiful salon, their social media is amazing and that's how I found it! I went in for Bayalage, and showed pictures of what i wanted. Styles performed by the same stylist as they were from his profile. Hours later, and after paying $550- They styled it beautiful, i walked out a happy customer. I do want to highlite, customer service is top notch, all staff members are very welcoming and friendly, salon is beautiful & very modern. When I got home, i attempted to pull my hair in a pony tail i got to see the transition between my dark hair to blonde was too thick (chunks would be the best description) and brassy-yellow. See pics I included with hair picked up in bun and pony tail. I called the salon to explain and they gave me a 2nd apt, (hassle free, they do have really nice and welcoming staff) I went in and they fixed the brassiness from the front. there was no additional charge. I went home and it was OK, but i still felt like it didn't look right. The brass color was improved, but still felt like i had 90's blonde chunks. It certainly still didn't look like a polished look, from a chic miami beach salon that you pay $550 for. So i called again (third time) they accommodated me and i asked for the roots to be darkened a bit more in order to have a smoother blend/transition between dark brown/blonde. It worked and i walked out a happy customer. But again, i got home as i styled it on my own, and tried parting it on the left side, i realized I have spots- see pictures attached. NO, I didn't call a fourth time- should i trust you guys? Is it normal to go home and identify brass & spots? Do customers require 3-4+ visits to achieve a desired look? + the stress/damage on your hair? Certainly not worth it. Including the additional tips, and products i have purchased i have spent $600+ at ATMA. I think they do a great job at styling, and when your there, your not able to see the issues withe color, it wasn't until I got home i was able to identify this... for the record, I am OK paying premium pricing for premium services, but I definitely did NOT receive a premium hair color experience. My hair does not look like i went to a premium salon... And im not satisfied with the performed work. It's a shame because i had high expectations of this establishment. This review is solely for a botched micro blading job. Dana ruined my eyebrows. I asked her for fuller but natural eyebrows. I wanted her to follow my hair follicles but instead went against my arch. She left me with unnatural and out of shape eyebrows. When I asked her about it, she told me to trust the process. Well, I trusted the process and got screwed. My hair dresser was this Brazilian woman named Regia she was so sweet and determined to get my hair to blonde. I had shown her pictures so she was excited to start. I got there at around 4:45-5 and didn't end up leaving until 11pm! She was the best didn't rush anything and love the outcome for now. I still have to come back to retouch and time but she made time go by quickly and with no pain. Update: I wanted to come back to finish toning my hair and she won't respond to my dms. I asked her nicely to schedule a day to fit both of our schedules I know she must be busy with all the clients but at least respond and don't leave me on open. Deciding I was in need of a haircut, Ivonne was paired with me to do Olaplex and a cut. She suggested the split end treatment as well pre-trim; I was nervous about doing it at first, since I assumed it would layer my hair, which was not the case at all. Ivonne was very thorough in explaining the benefits of making sure we cleared out the dead ends, actually went through the front pieces first to show. The texture changed immediately! I decided to give this place a try and schedule a last minute blow dry and style before my night out. The space is really clean and lovely, I was running 10 mins behind but so was my dresser, so all was well. I was greeted briefly and coldly by Raphael which I didn't think much of because most posh hair salons try to carry out that je ne sais quoi vibe... I noticed quite quickly, this was not a vibe but just his attitude and he in fact did not care, it remained obvious by how he would point to the wash chair I was suppose to go to, oppose to using words. I live in Beverly Hills where all things can be misinterpreted as rude but this was more than that. He was very rough, literally pulling at my hair (not in the good way)... he told me my hair was damaged but with the amount of heat and brute force he was using for a my blow out there was really no turning back I knew my hair was about to be f$*%** My hair ended up being FLAT, dry, smelled burnt, and a little sticky....
