With a busy schedule, sometimes same day service is needed and I'm glad SMN can accommodate! I didn't want to wait so I went to SMN this time. I've been to SMN a few times since my initial review and the two times since my initial visit there was no skin broken/bleeding, but unfortunately today there was. I have sensitive skin, and skin is drier in the winter, but I've never had the skin broken when I've done waxing. The aesthetician put a salve on it to heal it quicker. I also signed up for a Bikini Extended and it was only a little more than the bikini area. When I told the aesthetician what I was looking for, she removed all the hair in front like I usually have-- I asked her what to request next time and she told me to request a Brazilian. She didn't charge me for the extra hair removal which was very nice. At the waxing center where I usually go a Bikini Full ($47) removes all the hair in front. A Brazilian at SMN is $60, so from a cost perspective, it seems like waxing is also the way for me to go. I don't like to leave less positive reviews but I think it's good for others to know if they're considering sugaring-- I really want to like it but so far it's been very painful and broken my skin 2/4 times. Maybe it's a better experience for people with less sensitive skin! Update: the healing balm seems to have worked as there hasn't been any irritation/pain from the area where the skin broke. It was just very painful in the moment, but there's been no lingering pain, which is good.

Beware of possible scamming charges! Made an appointment but bumped into traffic when I called to…read morecancel my appointment they told me they will be charging me for 50% of the wax. When I told the manager I've never been charged a cancellation fee before she said that the policy had changed. I then told her that was off because I didn't receive any information about a new cancellation policy via email or text when I confirmed my appointment. She then stated they have been telling people as they come in for service. When I told her I thought that was unfair considering they messaged me 4 times to confirm my appointment but neglected to post the cancellation policy any where in our texts, emails and not even the last time I came in for a wax at this location. She then changed her story and stated oh we usually send out the cancellation policy when you confirm your appointment. Which I then told her I have not received. I appreciate that they were able to waive my cancellation fee but I find it very predatory as business to instate new fees and not inform regular and/or new clients. And makes me suspicious if this was just a scam since no updates on the website about cancellations. Great waxxers at this location but whatever manager was working 09/12/24 terrible customer service. Definitely will be visiting a new location.

I initially had one hair cut with Scott and he was great! Extremely personable, friendly, and did a great job. However, I noticed the owner Elisa to be criticizing the way he was doing my hair, right in front of me! (Personally I thought it was one of the better hair cuts I had received) I had also planned to use this salon for my wedding. I found that with this process they were extremely unorganized in details. When trying to make consult appointments, it took her going back and forth with days and times for about 15 minutes for her to choose a day. Then she ended up changing it! I was also provided with, and expected to sign an unprofessional contract with prices not matching what we initially spoke about, as well as corrections and cross outs she made in pen. I also found that the vision I had for my hair (Half up/half down) was not respected. I came in with photos of the hair styyle I was hoping for, and they were completely ignored and she pointed out other photos (of completely up hair styles) she would try out despite my not liking them. I was told if I wanted extensions to give volume to my style, she refused to use the clip ons found at Sallys ($150), and was told to use extensions put in from the salon (Several hunfdred dollars). When I asked why this was the case, I was told "I refuse to use those extensions). Even after explaining I was on a budget, she still refused. One of my final straws with this salon was when I had my highlights touched up. I requested to keep the color of the highlights, but just touch up the roots. Well, I came out with bright blonde stripes in my hair. This was another instance in which she did not listen to my vision for my hair, and she did what she felt would look good. Not to mention, the hightlights DESTROYED my hair, and my new hair dresser had to do several deep conditioning treatments to get my hair back to how it used to be. The final straw was when I had made 5 requests over a two month period to speak with the moman who was going to do my make up. All of my requests went unanswered, or I received a quick "She'll be calling you". I told the owner several times I would not be signing the contract until I spoke with this woman. I finally heard from her after I told Elisa I would be chosing another salon. Coincidentaly I received two phone calls that day. Now, this could all be just a bad experience for me. But I suggest any bride who likes her wedding planning to go as smoothly as possible to take note as to what I have written above. Good luck!
