I reached out to Carmen for permanent eyebrow tattooing. After 40+ years of hair pulling and always having fully drawn eyebrows I had an opportunity to do this. I just wanted to be able to wash and go, rub my face, and facepalm occasionally at work (healthcare). She demonstrated exceptional patience navigating the color tone evaluation, building the shapes, and working with the ink retention in chronically traumatized skin. (It's a fascinating exercise in understanding wound care and skin healing!) It's also a meticulous and time consuming process and I'm glad I finally made time to do this for myself. Carmen is an amazing tattoo artist, trained to the highest degree in her field. She is also a caring and warm person who put my comfort first and foremost. She is precise in her work, not rushing to move onto the next appointment. Not only did I need to be satisfied, Carmen had to be satisfied. My first visit with Carmen was twenty-five years ago when I desperately needed help with my eyebrows. The best solution was permanent tattooing (microblading wasn't a known method). At the time I lived in the Bay Area. Traveling to Petaluma was a quick trip. As the years past I no longer lived in the Bay Area, I lost most of my eyebrow hair and the tattoo, as tattoos will do, faded. Carmen is THE BEST!!! I have been looking into a permanent brow solution for years since I hardly have any brow hair and had to fully color them in every-single-day! When I first met her I immediately trusted her and her abilities. I can't explain how amazing it feels to be able to wake up with eyebrows...to go to the gym with no make up is life changing. It has been at least a year since having my eyebrows, eyeliner and lips done. I didn't get quite what I asked for. Let me say first that I barely wear make up and wanted a natural look. I wanted microblading done on my eyebrows and Carmen told me I would be happier getting the color tattoo and then microblading after during a touch up session. During the touch up session, more tattoo was added to get a better shape. I asked to have the tattoo extended and done thicker in a couple of areas, and she said it would not be even to the other brow. That is a consideration, but our faces and features are not symmetrical. The end result is a dark thinner, harsh line that I need to add a softer brown to to make them a little thicker and less harsh. I still have to apply the same amount of makeup on my eyebrows each day. I wanted eyeliner to go to the outer edge of my eyelid and to get a little thicker at the end. Carmen only did the base of the lash line and wouldn't extend it further. I would not classify this as eyeliner. I am happy with how it looks, but would have liked more as I had asked. For some reason the browner colors did not take on my skin, so it is black, but Carmen tried twice, so that must just be my skin. I wanted a natural outline on my lips. I was happy with it at first, knowing that she starts out conservatively, and was hoping to get a more definition without a lip liner line showing. She said more would look unnatural and to leave it as it is if I want it to look natural. There is barely a difference on my lips from before I had any of this done. We had a lengthy consultation prior to the tattooing and I brought photos and came in with brow powder in to give an example of what I would like. I am not unhappy with what I have now, just did not get what I tried very hard to ask for and still have to apply makeup, so wasn't much of a value. read more

I wanted info on micro blading. I met with owner Carmen Mello. She was so nice and answered all my questions. I had previous tattooing on my brows at a different salon. I didn't like the color and my brows were uneven. She explained which procedures would remedy my situation. I was so happy with her work. My eyebrows are gorgeous. She even gave me arches. She micro bladed individual hairs that look like real hairs. I loved her work so much , I had my eyeliner done. It looks natural and made my eyelashes look fuller. The final procedure I had Carmen do was my lip liner. She made my lips look full and I don't really need lipstick. Before , I wouldn't leave the house without it.
