She has such great attention to detail and she truly knows what she is doing. My skin is in the best shape it's ever been, so glowy and full of color and life. I'm a veteran facial and spa goer; so after moving to Yucaipa I was surprised to find such a nice, reasonably priced, no-fuss place to get a facial and massage. First glance at their service menu - this is more of a facial studio. So if you are looking for a full 'head-to-toe' all the bells-and-whistles body treatment experience; this is NOT the place for you. No locker rooms, sauna, or steam room. That being said - I've been doing the boot-camp facials (alternating the peel & microdermabrasion) for the past 8-9 months and I've noticed a big difference. I still struggle with acne (I'm in my 30s) and have spots from old marks. But since getting onboard with the boot camp I don't have the big, annoying, cystic pimples anymore. I've also noticed less spots and better tone. I don't use their products (I'm a fan of Murad products) but whatever they use is gentle enough for my skin. BIG THANK YOU to esthetician KJ - she's amazing! I've had a couple of the swedish massages and they're ok (I've had better). But for what it was (It was only a swedish massage after all) I would get them again. I hope in the future they offer more in the massage department - like hot-stone or aromatherapy options. Also body treatments like mud masques, salt/sugar scrubs, or wraps would be awesome. read more

This is my place for relaxation! It's always clean and the staff are always professional and awesome! Right now I'm in the skin care boot camp which is just awesome! It's about $40 or $50 a month but each month is a different treatment. My skin has improved so much since coming here! It's truly a local gem and I highly recommend them! They are closed on Sundays and Mondays but they are open all the other days. Try them out! Trust me when I say you will leave relaxed and happy! read more

I went to this place a couple of times and loved the esthetician KJ! She was phenomenal and very friendly. She helped make my skin ready for my wedding and feel rejuvenated. The owner on the other hand at times it seemed as though it bothers her when a client has questions regarding any package deals being offered or questions in general. I have had a lot of facials, so for facials this place is ok. I only had the mini done so it was short, but pretty enjoyable. The estheticians are very friendly, but both I have seen have seriously messed up my brows. I only did the wax because it was included, bad choice for me. I will not go back here for a couple of reasons. First of all, I'd rather go to Massage Envy or Facelogic for facials. The receptionist was snobby and left a bad taste in my mouth. I have been a member for over 3 years now... Wow where does the time go? I look so forward to my monthly facials! I love that they cater to your individual and changing skin care needs. Estheticians will recommend or change anything as needed. I am always asked if I have any new concerns about my skin, and if so it is addressed! They offer non chemical options as well, which is great! Upgrades at anytime for enzymes, medi-grade, extended time, even aromatherapy with essential oils! I recently had a facial at Skin Essentials via Groupon. When I use Groupon I'm always leary of the sales pitch, however my experience here was great. There wasn't a push to buy something else, they just let me know what is available, and they offer pretty reasonable pricing. When I asked questions about the benefits of some services, they were very knowledgeable. And, when I couldn't answer what kind of stuff is in the brand of skin care I use, they looked it up - just to be safe. The facial was wonderful and exactly what I would expect, not to mention local. I've lived in LA, done the Burke Williams scene, some of the Beverly Hills spots, San Jose, Glen Ivy, La Costa in Carlsbad and etc., so I know good service and professionalism. I really enjoy the quaint atmosphere and the Boot Camp Membership. The estheticians that I have had have all been great, sweet dispositions very caring. I've had businesses before and I can say that it's a well run operation, no hassle, generous and I highly recommend them. I would first like to begin with how mortified I am about the owner Katherine (Kathy) Bocanegra. As I am waiting for my facial to begin, I overhear an immense amount of trash talk of other clients in the building, to make matters worse, the other facial it's she was trash talking with (KJ), was comparing other clients experiences to add on to the gossip. During the time I disrobed, I turned up the lighting to see my way, and was disgusted with the towels and sheets they were utilizing. String we're hanging off and the sheets were stained. Now I see why they have low lighting. To add to the cheap materials being utilized, there was an extremely strong smell of Mexican food coming from the restaurant next door...now that's not what I had in mind when I went there for a relaxing day at the spa. Speaking of spa, they do not offer a variety of services like a REAL spa should. I was refused a Brazilian wax, because they do not offer it. Well lets just say the costumer does not come 1st here. After Katherine talking my ear off about her personal life, I did not feel relaxed from my 1 hour facial. My massage was descent, but I've had much better and the rooms sheets and towel were the same as my facials room. The price may be cheap but so are the materials and products they used because my face broke out the next day for almost a week!!! The service is cheap and their attitude is terrible. If you want a cheap place to go this is it, however I would much rather spend a few bucks more from now on for better service, cleaner rooms and materials, and especially a more professional atmosphere from now on. I would never recommend this place, not even to my worst enemy. Don't settle ladies, spend a little more somewhere else...you will NOT get your bang for your buck here: read more
