This was my first time getting Botox so naturally, I was skeptical and very nervous. The staff at Skin Medica were super friendly and helpful. The doctor was VERY nice and talked me through absolutely everything he was doing before he did it. I think my favorite part about this place is that no one pushed unnecessary services on me. I got a minimal amount of Botox in one area and am very pleased with the results! By no means does this doctor believe in making people look fake (which I love). I will be coming back for sure! I went in for a consultation and they gave me a very honest opinion- no upselling. I ended up getting my filler and botox right after. It looks so natural! In preparation for my upcoming wedding I had a facial with Kerry, who was fabulous. She took a lot of time talking with me about my problem areas, what products I use and what my goals were. She assured me that my skin will be glowing and ready for the big day! She advised some products which were very reasonable in cost. After my facial I had Botox. The doctor also took a good amount of time talking to me about what I wanted to achieve. He used a pencil, making marks where injections would be made. I let him know I do not do well with needles, so he talked to me thought the entire procedure, which truly did ease my nerves. I will be returning for both facials with Kerry and Botox. read more

My first, and only experience with this business, took place in January 2017. This is a new business. I arrived early for my appointment, since I was a new client, but then was made to wait 45 minutes past my scheduled time. At 30+ minutes, with no one giving me a second look, I had to ask when I would be seen. They didn't know and had to find out. I was told it would be at least another 15 minutes and the explanation was that the client before me showed up late. That is unacceptable to me. No one with any customer service experience would allow a client to show up 45 minutes late and allow them to go ahead with their appointment and screw everyone else up. Anyway, I had followed my laser hair removal tech(Marlene) here because I had bought a Groupon with her and still had two treatments left. The actual appointment was great, as always. However, as I came back to the front to schedule my next appointment, the first thing said to me by the blonde receptionist with a European accent(I say that for identification purposes only), was, "You know that if you want to keep coming here you going to have to pay our higher price." Let me share with you how you are supposed to treat new clients. It should go something like this, "How was your appointment? Can I get you a water? We are a new business and we would love to keep you as a client when your Groupon is done. Can I get you any information about our services or pricing? Here is our current services list. We have a facial special for all of the clients that Marlene has brought in..." I had started writing a bad yelp review while sitting in the waiting room, but decided not to post it because I didn't want it to reflect poorly on Marlene(especially since it wasn't her fault). Instead, I saved the review draft, and was going to wait for my February appointment. I was going to tell Marlene that as much as I loved her, I would not be a client of a rude, greedy, and overly pretentious establishment. Thankfully, Skin Medica made that easier for me. I got a call last week, saying that all of Marlene's appointments had been cancelled, and they gave me her phone number. Again, no attempt to get me to call them back or offer me a service. This is a new business. Aren't you trying to build a client base? Don't you want to foster a good reputation? I live in the Oakland Hills, I can afford your prices. As a matter of fact, I currently get Botox, facials, and massages and am currently looking for a new doctor to provide fillers and a laser peel. I travel to Walnut Creek and Pleasanton, to high end medical spas and plastic surgeons' offices for my services. What makes you think that you can have an office in Podunk Benicia, and have an elitist attitude? Either your receptionist is inept and a poor reflection of your business, or you all think that buying a Groupon makes me undesirable as a client. I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to needles, but he was strategic, gentle and distracted me while he worked his magic. I feel like I look very natural and "rested", which is was I asked for. Dr. Jamnani is an excellent doctor who is extremely knowledgeable in the area of skin care. I have had many procedures by him including Botox, skin tightening, fillers, and micro needling. Complimentary she puts your hands into heated Spa mitts to moisturize and sooth dry hands while she works on your face. The MedSpa uses Lira Clinical products that are natural and free of harsh chemicals. After 1.5 hour facial my skin gets noticeable glow and I feel very relaxed every time. I followed Marlene here from the previous office she was a part of in Vallejo. Let me start off by saying that I have seen 5 different upscale providers throughout the Bay Area for filler/ Botox services over the past several years (after having subpar or uneven results) and Marlene is by far the best hands down. She is extremely gentle, I never bruise, she doesn't oversell and she has a great eye for placement and for giving me the natural "not overdone but refreshed" look I want. The new office is tucked away but worth seeking out and is in quaint downtown Benicia. The office is brand spanking new and spotless and the front desk ladies are very sweet and helpful. I have always wanted to get laser hair removal done to my underarms but had no idea where to go. My Mom knew about this and ended up getting me a session for my Easter present! Yes, I'm a big kid who still gets presents. When we walked in, it had such a warm and relaxing vibe. The front desk lady, Christine was very friendly, professional and made me feel welcomed. I filled out the necessary paperwork and was called back by Amy. Amy asked me a few questions in regards to the laser hair treatment and let me know what to expect. She was very sweet and made me feel comfortable about getting it done. We cracked a few jokes during the treatment which didn't last long AT ALL. When she was finished I was blown away at how quickly it went. If I had to guess probably 1 minute on each underarm. It didn't hurt at all, and just like that I was out the door! I've gotten two treatments total so far but I saw results after the first treatment. I'm a hairy girl, and usually when I shave, the hair is back the next day.
