I am writing this review to thank Dr. Jeffrey Berti. I went to see him while I was on an extended trip to the Brentwood area when I developed a rash. He immediately identified the cause of the rash (which went away quickly with his prescribed treatment) and while I was there he also identified (and removed) several small pre-cancerous spots on the top of my head! I was surprised because I had just been to a dermatologist in the Philly area 5 weeks prior to remove a mole and have a skin check-up. I took a picture of the top of my head and compared it to the pre-cancerous picture from one of his medical books and sure enough it matched. Wow! Fantastic in every way! I have been treated by both Dr. Jeffrey and Dr. Toula, a husband and wife team. Dr. Toula has successfully treated and removed many skin lesions over the past five years or so, using several different techniques. She has a gentle touch and a very pleasant personality. Most recently, Dr. Jeffrey performed a lipsuction procedure with great results. I was very nervous about it, but Dr. Jeffrey and Ashlee made me as comfortable and relaxed with it as could be expected during the procedure, and continued to ease my concerns and promptly respond to all my questions during the healing time afterwards. The office is clean and modern and conveniently located. The result is better than I expected, and I am happy that I chose to go to Dr. Berti for the procedure! I've been seeing Dr. Jeffrey Berti for chronic acne for at least 9 years (and have been seeing other doctors for this problem for 30 years). I find him excellent, friendly, caring, patient, never rushed - just excellent. The office is pretty, the people are pretty, everyone is very nice, friendly & efficient. I haven't used any of the other services they have but they seem to have a strong cosmetic surgery business as well. Is Dr. Berti a good doctor? Yes Is his front desk person (Debra?) easy to deal with? Hello no. She is terribly rude and impatient on the phone AND in person. I asked for a price of something and she actually said (impatiently) Didn't we go over this on phone? No, she didn't. But geez you would think she has the busiest job on the planet. She acts put upon when asking questions and just generally irritated with patients. Why she works in a front desk area answering phones or dealing with patients is mind blowing. read more

I had to find a new dermatologist since moving to the suburbs. My bf and his family have gone to this derm for awhile so I decided to try it. When I arrived to check in, I gave my card to the receptionist expecting a $20-40 copay. I saw the receipt only to see she charged $171. Apparently I had some deductible to pay but it would have been nice for her to explain and warn me before running my card. When I confronted her about it, she didn't explain why she charged the amount merely that I owed it. After 3x of trying to get an explanation, I gave up. Later that day we forgot the name of a topical lotion for my bf so I called in to get the name. Suzy Sunshine was just as great as the first time. She sounded so annoyed but gave me the name. I had to call about a month ago for a refill. She asked what my pharmacy was. I told her the name of the mail order and she tried to argue with me that it wasn't a legit pharmacy even though I provided the name and address. I didn't get a call for 4 days. When I called back she explained the doctors were at the Barrington location. I could call them but she wasn't going to. I never got a chance to call that day but magically the prescription showed up at my "non-existent" pharmacy. Last week I called in for a quick answer about the medicine. A week later I never received a call back. The same great individual answered. I asked for a follow up. She asked for my name and number and I told her to forget about it because I wouldn't want to annoy her to do her job. She then tried to tell me I could wait on hold for a nurse/doctor but it could be an hour. Who in their right mind would wait that long on hold while at their job? Needless to say I told her to forget about it and I'd find a new doctor. Dr. Toula was great and I would go back if it wasn't for the receptionist. read more

I have been a patient of both Dr Toula and Dr Jeff has seen my daughter. We both have had excellent experiences. Dr. Toula has made my face go from good to great. I feel beautiful and get compliments all the time. I couldn't imagine going anywhere else. Dr. Jeff has seen my daughter for acne and she is immediately at ease when he walks in the room. He, too, has taken great care of her and spends quite a bit of time at our visits. Love both the doctors. As far as the other reviews about a nasty front office, it is absolutely not true. I know all the women. Deb and Sharon are the sweetest people in the world. They are not rude. They have been nothing but kind to my family for many, many years. read more

Doctor didn't wear a mask. When I asked him to he only wore the mask over his mouth. I had to ask him again to properly wear the mask over his mouth and nose. Very condescending. Didn't wash his hands before examining my child or wear gloves. Not sure I trust a doctor that can't follow simple infection control or CDC guidelines. read more

Dr. Berti has been my "go to" dermatologist for over a decade. Doctor has treated me for sun spots, minor adult acne and more recently facial hyperpigmentation. Dr. Berti suggested I try his IPL laser treatment. I had this treatment done before elsewhere with minimal results. However this time with Dr. Berti's expertise, my skin looks amazing, dark spots are either gone or significantly lighter. I will be visiting again in the near future to see if we can enhance the results. Dr. Berti is a master at his craft, conservative in his treatment methods which is definitely the best approach with my sensitive skin. Awful for anything cosmetic. A nurse performed microderm on me, she only did my t-zone, I paid for the entire face, I paid cash. ..they still decided to bill my insurance for microderm AND for a DR. visit. I NEVER saw the Dr. I had my third TCA peel performed there. The Dr. told me they stopped making the healing cream he normally would write me a prescription for and that he sold better cream straight out of his office that works better. That cream doubled my healing time and did not reduce the swelling or pain. He LIED about the former cream by saying they stopped making it....they DO make it...my regular Dr. called it into Walgreens for me. All he cares about are the dollar signs...he kept calling me by the wrong name during the peel. Hes a fake person and not a good physician. read more

Dr. Berti is the best dermatologist I've been to, and there have been many. He has a great bedside manner and knows his stuff. Instead of throwing things at you and charging a ton of money, he works to treat the condition once he makes an educated diagnosis based on things you tell him and his knowledge of skin conditions. My dermititis condition is virtually cleared in less than a year where tons of dermatologists over a ten year period couldn't cure, though gladly took my money and wasted my time. Dr. Berthi is one of the best doctors I know! He is knowledgeable, professional, and truly cares about his patients. He always takes time to answer my questions, and provides me with thoughtful and thorough responses. He is exceptionally well trained (Mayo!) with a plethora of knowledge for both medical and cosmetic dermatology, and always suggests treatments that are research based and work! I'm in my 30's and cannot tell you how INCREDIBLE my skin looks following Laser Genesis treatments. This machine does wonders! It builds collagen, helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles, decreases hyperpigmentation and redness, and so much more! I have also seen Dr. Berthi and his office staff for laser hair removal and microdermabrasion; both of which have yielded extremely successful results with little downtime. His nursing staff are also so kind. I have worked mostly with Kelly and Ashley, and they are both wonderful both personally and professionally. Performed unnecessary procedure on our daughter and left her with a scar. His wife is not a dermatologist . Look up her credentials. Then when I questioned him he sent me a long threatening letter rather than calling me back. Completely unprofessional and they should be investigated. read more

Watch out for this doctor he will submit claims to the insurance under incorrect codes so nothing is covered. He also orders more tests than needed, check to see how they are billing you before your appt. Beware. Communication is not their strong suite which is very important. Beyond that he says take some vitamins and come back in four months. Think he could have said to try taking vitimins before he ordered several blood tests totaling 775.00. Thanks doc and that was on top of his 200 dollar office visit. Tried to work something out with the staff which they were not helpful. Never again. read more

It is very much appreciated when they would give me samples of cleansers, cream, etc to try before shelling out money for a Rx. I have been seeing Dr. Berti since I was in grade school. He is not only a wonderful doctor, but he is just so smart! He has always taken his time with me in the office, and truly cares. I have had scars, acne, and other dermatological things that he has helped me with over the years. My skin ALWAYS looks amazing when I visit his office. Very disappointing. I was looking for a new derm closer to my house. I needed a procedure done that was covered by my ins no problem before and I have had this done twice a year for several years....well the dr claims he has never heard of it being covered and they'd put in a request to my insurance. I wait a few weeks call the office and the office manager was so rude and also claimed she's never heard of it being covered blah blah great well it IS covered I called my ins they stated they would call the dr office and the office HUNG UP on them. I called back several days later the office manger said she would have to ask the doctor. I never received a phone call back. Pretty sad that the woman helping me from my insurance company suggested I go else where due to their lack of professionalism and lack of concern for me as a patient. His loss because the insurance pays $1500 for the procedure! read more

Dr. Berti is the most professional and knowledgable dermatologist I've been to - and I've been to a lot for me and my kids. We see him mainly for medical reasons - although I have many friends who use him for cosmetic needs - and our experience has been wonderful. He can diagnose issues immediately upon seeing them - even via a frantic text message! - and usually has sample medications for us to use until we can get the full prescription filled at the pharmacy. And, sometimes the samples are enough, and we don't even need to use the pharmacy! He is definitely goes above and beyond to make sure our needs are meant. Even when we had insurance that he didn't accept, we still went to him because we knew we'd get great service, knowledge, and help. He's one of my doctors that I truly don't mind going to - or question what he's done - because the issue is always taken care of- the first time. read more
