Update time! I've been a patient at Skin Spectrum for over ten years now. As I've mentioned in prior reviews.. over the years I have seen Dr. Comstock, Dr. Pai ,and PA Nicole to address skin concerns, anti-aging treatments, etc. Over the last few years, I've consistently booked my appointments with Melissa for hydrafacials and Clear + Brilliant treatments. I recently treated myself to a sofwave treatment, results are TBD but I love seeing Melissa and feel well taken care of by her and that I have a solid skincare plan for the year. I know that at Skin Spectrum, continual education is a top priority, so I trust that I am in good hands. read more

I had a C02 laser procedure with Dr Pai and the results are amazing. It takes years off of your face. She even contacted me after business hours to follow up. You have to follow their recovery procedures which are tedious but the results are completely worth it. I've been getting Botox here for 15 years as well. Highly recommend. read more

I purchased my skin products my daughter found on Amazon for a lot cheaper. For example, ZO daily power defense and ZO hydrating cleanser are much cheaper. Buyer beware! Even with their 20% off Amazon is still much cheaper. Shame on Skin Spectrum for their exploitation of their patients. read more

Customer service is awesome and my Hydrafacial went smoothly! 10/10 would recommend! I've had facials before but have never actually had one done from a med spa that was dermatologist approved! When I initially called Liz at the front desk was extremely helpful and insightful. She provided me with answers and with welcoming & warm Introduction! GREAT customer service! Suzanne is AMAZING! Throughout my facial time- she explained what she was doing and the benefits of each step (without me having to ask ). She made sure to check in on how I was feeling and to explain benefits of a good skin care routine including retinol, sunscreen and other treatments that would benefit my redness and acne prone skin. I've been to quite a few places in Tucson for fillers, Botox, and skincare treatment. Dr. Pai is hands down the best doctor or skincare person that I've seen. She runs late, because she spends so much time with each patient. It is well worth the wait. She is attentive to all of your questions and concerns. She does not push her products. I asked her to help me with product selection for my face. I can tell the difference in one day after using her recommended regimen. It is the first time after Botox that I do not have even a speck of a bruise. She also recommends that you don't overdo the Botox, so that you still have expression. Many places want to overdo it. I highly recommend Dr. Pai and Skin Spectrum. I also had laser for hair removal yesterday. I don't know the results yet, but Ashley is very professional. She does a test spot before you go back to have the treatment done to make sure the laser is on the right settings. I had an uncomfortable experience elsewhere, so I was very happy with the fact that I didn't have any swelling or as many bumps as I did at the other practice. I'm so happy that I found Skin Spectrum. Dr. Pai was recommended by another practice to help correct my tear trough fillers done by a physician's assistant at another company. I haven't had the correction done yet as we decided to wait until my bruising and discoloration goes away. Dr. Pai listens and then acts according to your wishes. I'm very happy to recommend Dr. Pai, and I will be going back for continued treatments and skincare advice. read more

Highly recommend skin spectrum! They offer a variety of procedures and products. Love the fact they are not pushy and will allow you to try the makeup (and will even do your makeup for you). Dr. Pai is professional, friendly and so knowledgeable. She does not try and push any procedures or products and you leave with a print out of recommendations for your skin. The services are amazing. If you do not have plenty of time I would not recommend going to this practice. I have never seen the physician at the time of my appointment. I have waited from 30 minutes to 80 minutes to be seen. Extremely rude and not considerate of the client time. I take time off from work for my visit and have left because the wait has been so long. I've been to a lot of dermatologists before, and this is the worst one. Dr. Pai doesn't seem to care about her patients. She spents the most minimal amount of time with patients, fails to answer questions, is condescending, and seems always eager to leave. She also only recommends skin care that they personally carry. They tell you not to use anything else because it's not "medical grade" even though other dermatologists have said otherwise and noted that it's a common marketing tactic among med spas and cosmetic dermatologists. They push expensive procedures and products that are exclusive to them. However, Skin Spectrum doesn't even have the most novel lasers. A lot of advice is out-dated. I came to her for help with acne, but after a year of her recommendations, it didn't work. It wasn't until I went to the medical dermatologist next door, Dr. Trout, that my acne actually subsided. Dr. Pai's assistant is the only one that is friendly. The front desk staff are also condescending and rude, especially Angie. They are really difficult when it comes to sending in prescriptions. To send in refills that I have been told to stay on, I have to schedule another consultation that is expensive, way more expensive with less input than other dermatologists. Nicole, the PA, is friendly but not very knowledgeable. When she doesn't know something, she'll blame it on your skin acting up due to the weather. Also, you have to pay the same for a consultation with her, a PA with less experience and knowledge. Skip this place and find a different cosmetic dermatologist that can actually help you achieve your skin goals. read more

I have older, very fair skin that has a tendency towards redness. My provider, Dr. Tina Pai, recommended a combination of an IPL and Resurfx laser as an anti-aging treatment. Last Friday I took the plunge and I'm thrilled with the results! My skin already looks plumper and has better texture. They first perform the IPL treatment (which treats redness) and then numb your face for 40 minutes before the second treatment (which treats texture and other issues). I have to admit that I was glad for the numbing as the second laser was uncomfortable at times (but quite tolerable). I've had IPL's before, but combining the IPL with the second treatment made a huge difference. I should note that I was swollen for a few days but nothing horrendous. I am very, very pleased and will do this treatment again when I need it. Highly recommend. read more

I loved working with Nicole, i saw her in regards to getting my face back to normal after getting some acne and she was so nice and professional the whole staff was lovely. Recommending me treatments, products and diet etc. I left with some samples and product and feeling so much better knowing that there is a solution. Don't bother with the Dermatologist or the way overpriced skin products. I was referred by my Plastic surgeon specifically for a laser treatment To try to minimize skin discoloration from skin cancer surgery. She diagnosed another skin cancer and even knowing I was the patient of Another well known Dermatologist whom I had been seeing regularly for skin checkups, decided to use a technique that was not correct for an area involving cartiledge, and which I had to have redone. The worst part was when she started dropping jars of skin care products in a bag with no explanation. I assumed they were samples of things she wanted me to try even though I had explained in answer to her questions the not inexpensive skin products I used and which she appeared to approve of. I gave my credit card to the desk to pay for the laser treatment. When I got home I looked at the receipt for $4000 for the products she had dropped in my bag with no explanation of why I would want or need them or no question to me as to whether I wanted to buy them! I felt like I had been conned by the best. I was rushing home to get ready for a Christmas trip we were making. The next day I went back to return the products I had not been asked if I wanted to buy. You guessed it. No returns. I could exchange them for other products and The only thing I could use was a $40 tube of sunblock but I use SPF 100 & they only had SPF 30 or 40 I can't remember which. I really felt I had been had by a real professional and I can only say buyer beware and if you need a real dermatologist find one not in the business of selling high priced beauty products. Oh and if Dr Comstock does talk you into a real medical procedure she won't bill Medicare. I can't say about other insurance companies, and you won't know that until it's too late. read more

This is my third time coming to Skin Spectrum and I highly recommend them. Suzanne was very proficient, and the procedure was noninvasive with no downtime. We have been going to Skin Spectrum for a few years for various procedures/treatments for the entire family. The physicians and medical assistants are knowledgable and professional, but the office/reception staff is the opposite. The women sitting at the front desk are rude, unprofessional with big time condescending attitudes. You'd think they would be happy to serve the customer since it is our (the customer) money that helps them in maintaining their jobs. They should be taught a lesson in customer service and basic human respect, and get rid of the snooty attitudes. read more

I have nothing but the utmost confidence and respect for Dr. Comstock and her staff. I believe that this facility is if not the best, one of the best in this country. I usually never write reviews but feel the need to for Skin Spectrum's staff, specifically my skin guru, Nicole. This place is nothing short of amazing. From the moment you enter the office you are greeted by a warm smile and checked in with no delays. My first visit here was last year, being a new Arizona resident, I didn't realize how much the sun here was going to damage my skin. I knew I had to find a dermatologist to address my skin concerns and get it fixed asap. As I scheduled a consultation, I was paired with Nicole, and I am SO grateful for her! She evaluated my skin and immediately knew what type of treatment plan would get my skin back to its healthy state. Not only is she patient and kind but extremely knowledgeable about skin products and procedures. She explained why my skin was changing and educated me not only on the science of skin but also the cosmetic side of things, such as fillers and Botox, which I had a lot of questions about. She even goes over the costs to plan according to your budget and ensures you take advantage of any promotions or discounts that is being offered at the time. After following her treatment plan and using the suggested products (which are amazing and can be bought in the office, samples are also given if available) I noticed such a huge difference in my skin, in just a matter of months. Not only was it looking healthier, but I had a natural glow. (Fast Fwd to seeing her again today after 9 months) I decided to start a new procedure with Nicole. She was on leave for a bit, so I waited for her return because she is well worth the wait. As usual, she was delightful and took her time to go over everything with me before starting the procedure. Before moving to Tucson, drove an hour and a half to get to this place, spent 15 minutes in the waiting room then was taken into the exam room where I spent another 45 minutes. Left after an hour without seeing the doctor. Wasn't given any reason except that "maybe" the doctor had an emergency with another patient. I went to Skin Spectrum for the primary purpose of trying the Cool Sculpturing. I did not see a dermatologist for my visit(s) with the salon, instead, there was an assistant who I saw on both occasions I visited the location. It was very expensive and Cool Sculpting therapy simply did not work. I've spoken with others who have had this procedure done and it generally requires a few sessions. Althoough Iwas asked to pay a significant amount of money up front, I did not get the several sessions I needed to see the benefit. Go somewhere else for cool sculpting!!!! Being from Los Angeles and being used doctors with huge egos, this place was definitely a relief. Came here when I developed a crazy rash that was infection or occlusion?? You do have to wait, but what doctor's office is ever on time? Dr. Pai is one of the most amazing doctors! I was excited to purchase a diamond peel facial for my mother and I. I talked about how excited I was to my co-workers for about a month. The day finally came; I was so disappointed to put it mildly. There was NO peel in this facial in fact from the time I came in and took photos (for what I will never know) my facial was over in 15 minutes. The esthetician talked the whole time trying to sell me Obagi products. I went home and goggled Diamond Peel facial and it was very different than what I received. I came to work and informed my co-workers to NEVER get a facial at Skin Spectrum, it was a rip-off. They are plenty of places for half of the cost and longer service.
