Retreat! Oh what a retreat!…read more Last October Shanna and Loni held a fabulous playful and introspective woman's retreat in Phoenix Arizona. It was there that seven woman would share a home together for a five days. We would unwind from the outside world, travel to Sedona, experience a vortex, rest, relax and play. All the while getting to know one another, and simultaneously being granted time to process on our own, and during check ins. Our needs were of the top most priority, and we were well taken care of in all regards. We were graciously offered meditation and movement classes in the mornings (which were wonderful, perfectly tailored to our needs, and fun) and although we had an itinerary planned, and adventures we would go in, it felt easy going each day, and all we had to do was show up and say yes. Yes to a new experience in a new place, and more over, yes to our Mind, Body, Spirit connection for what ever the universe presented to us. Mind: We were engaged in playful activity through games, sharing stories and laughter which lead to open hearted conversation, going within while remaining willing to be present, staying supportive of our new network of sisters and holding mindful space for everyone as the beautiful unique individuals we are. Body: We hiked in numerous locations, sang, swam, soaked, slept, and danced! We ate delicious and lovingly prepared nutritious meals. And were offered Massage, Reiki, and Tibetan Cranial. Spirit: Sedona's Bell Mountain shared a vortex with myself and many of the other woman. This was a spiritual experience in which I am still learning to understand and unpack it from time to time. The retreat was so well rounded. I highly recommend a retreat with Natural Body Works. Shanna and Loni work very well together, and ensure safe and centered heart-space in which to come together, go within, and get to know our inner playful selves in order to more readily access our joy. I am so grateful to have shown up and said yes, yes to my Mind, Body, and Spirit, but mainly yes to myself so I could fully receive the gifts being presented to me through my many interactions with a great group of woman. I'm a new mom and 2 months postpartum and was looking forward to finally getting my hair cut!…read more I'm unfortunately extremely disappointed in my haircut experience here. I booked with Hannah online and mentioned I have thick long hair and wanted a chop for summer. I've never been to this salon before, but know from past experience it's important to note thick hair while booking. Their online booking system requires the stylist to "okay" the appointment, so someone must have seen the note about thick hair. At other salons, most stylists will see the note and book out an extra 45 mins..or call to reschedule with an additional block of time. This never happened and lead to maybe the worst salon experience I've ever had? Hannah started cutting my hair, and was a quarter way through before she mentioned I'd have to leave with wet hair due to time constraints. I wish she would have been honest and up front and I would have rescheduled or found a new salon for a cut that would include a blow dry + style. She shampooed my hair for less than 4 minutes and everything just felt so rushed! I was expecting to see another client waiting for her but that was not the case. I was in and out of the salon in less than an hour. She gave me her card so I could contact her if the layers dried funny or looked bad...so off I left with wet hair and a potential hack job of a haircut. I don't recommend this place, I got in my car and cried. I expect to leave a salon feeling beautiful and that just didn't happen!
