I had a great experience at this spa. My sister and I took my mom there for her 60th birthday. We all got the 60 minute relaxation massage and we loved it! It first started out with a 15 minute foot soak and they also laid warming pad around our necks. Once that was over they called us back to our individual rooms and my therapist Lori was awesome! She always kept me warm with warming pads and it was the best massage I've ever had! My only gripe was the front lobby was a little cluttered and could be cleaned up a bit. I must say I was a bit disappointed that I had left a message and never received a return phone call until I called back an hour or so later which happened to by my third call. My husband and I decided to have some pampering done today and since I'm a returning client to Skinsation this was the place I wanted to receive my facials. After my third phone I was able to finally reach the location and not there answering service the Office Manager (Melissa) was nice but not really helpful. We went ahead and made an appointment for our facials and I must say Kay was absolutely fantastic. My husband was pleased with his very first spa experience thank you Kay. I would mention that it would be nice to have enjoyd the nap room without the interruption of employees coming in and out of the office next to the nap room which was very distracting and definitely not relaxing whatsoever. This would probably be the only change I would recommend. I truly enjoy Skinsation and the past services I have received from this facility. I was a little concerned because of some of the reviews I read on Yelp, but I was pleasantly surprised. No, not just pleasantly surprised....amazed! One of the best facials ever, I got a gift certificate for Christmas 1 1/2 years ago and I just didn't have the time to drive to Tustin to redeem it. I finally had a free afternoon and figured I'd make the drive up there and go for it. Making the appointment was a bit of a pain. It took 3 phone calls to get scheduled. Once I got there, I was quickly ushered into the changing room and shown to the quiet room for the foot soak and the heated neck wrap (it was a cuddly kitten stuffy) I felt like a queen as the girl dried my feet on her lap. I met my facialist, Chastity, and was taken into the treatment room. Full doors, and I couldn't hear other patrons. The ceiling was decorated with twisty branches and fairy lights. So much nicer than staring at a commercial building ceiling. The facial was lovely and Chastity was wonderful. She knew her stuff and didn't try to hard sell me on their products. When finished, I changed my clothes and sipped on a glass of Perrier while I used the vanity table to prep for another appointment. Checking out was easy and painless. In all, this was a great experience. I wish I lived closer. read more

I love this place! I have been going for a few years and even though its is a drive for me, I treat myself here whenever I can. I have had great facials and massages. All the free extras are very nice. I love the snacks, drinks, foot soak and warm neck wrap. The nap room is awesome - it has two large bean bags, soothing music and is very comfy. I just got a facial and I am so beyond mad right now. I put up with a lot, but I have never had an experience like this. First I called to make my appointment this morning, when I asked if I could get a facial for the $59 deal I got via email. He said that's only for 60min. He said I'd have to get a double facial for 100 minutes for $108. So I agreed. The woman giving my facial said, since it's 100 minutes, I'll give you a double peel to take up some of the time. I said I don't like the peels because my skin is sensitive. She said no no, this will be great and it'll take up some of the time. So I said ok, whatever you want. She never said this is extra, she made it sound like she just wanted to take up the time. I didn't known why, but she would say, "I'll be right back", but she'd be gone for long periods of time, and did this multiple times. She did show me a makeup I liked and wanted to buy and recommended a mask. When I went up to pay I told the girl typing my info (she said she was new) that I didn't want anything else, just the makeup. So she was very nice and trying to help me, whoever was at the front desk with her, however, was the one that pushed me over the edge. So she tells me my total is $200 something and I said, I know the makeup was $59, but the facial was $108. The woman sitting next to the new girl said well it was $118 and then you got the double peel. I said, she never told me it was extra, and I told her exactly what my lady said. She looks at me with a smirk and says, "well they are required to tell you, so I'll call." I said that's fine. So she gets back on and says, "well, she DID tell you, but she said she'll wave it." So at this point, I'm upset, I've been given false information, I had my facial therapist leave through a lot of my facial, they tried adding things I didn't agree to, and now this girl is giving me attitude. So the new girl asks if I'd like to add gratuity. I said yes, $5 (which after everything, I thought it was too much). This woman (not the new girl) looks at me and so rudely says, "well, not to make this situation any more awkward than it already is, our manager talked to us and it is customary to tip 18-20%." I said, "well, I probably would've tipped over, but this whole situation is making me so upset." She looks back with that smirk and says, "um, I understand you're upset, but it is customary, soooo" I stopped her and said no, I'm upset, and I want to leave, $5 is all I'm tipping. When I went to leave, I told the new girl congrats on her new job, because she was very nice. And the other woman cut me off and again in her rude tone said have a great night. I have never been so upset in a SPA!!! I will never come back here and be treated the way I was. read more

This used to be my go to spa as I'd been a customer for nearly 9 years. Note to anyone that goes here. Don't bother sharing your concerns on how the front office is run as they keep a docket of your comments. I recently booked a spa package, with the day manager, but not after having to speak to "new" staff, totally unknowledgeable, Out of the blue, I was later called back by Director Jeremy, who happens to be one of the "new" staff I spoke to, to inform me that I am no longer welcomed there and my money would be refunded. When I initially called, I first spoke to another rep, who didn't know anything, so she transferred me to Director Jeremy....he didn't adequately explain the packages either and after I spelled my name 3 times to him I asked for the day manager,'s name, which he refused to give me and also did not share that he was the Director when I initially spoke to him. His lack of knowledge of the products and services and his inability to diffuse an upset customer shocks me that he is actually a director, be that as it may, Their loss as I have plenty of friends and I will no longer refer anyone to this spa. They are constantly changing the front office staff and so it's no wonder they don't know what's going on, which frustrates the customers. I called to speak to Leaine, but she never returned my call. As a professional, I expect that when I call a place for services I expect them to know their services, products and to be able to provide direct answers. Beware......as they seem to want to rid themselves of customers rather than find out what the issues are...like fully training their staff. read more

I have been going here for over 10 years, the facials are the best and I have tried many other spas. However I have to say the staff at the reception although nice do not know their products. They couldn't tell me the difference or price of the items nor did they ask anyone for help. I asked my therapist to write down what products she used on me, she said she would but when I checked out there was nothing there. The staff up front didn't go back and ask her what she had used so they just let me walk out even though I was interested in buying the products. ( there were at least 3 people standing there) The products are great however, they are expensive but do get results. It would be helpful if there was a list of the products and prices like there is for the services they provide. I also don't like when the therapist uses a product I like and tells me I should buy it and then they don't have it in stock. There have been a couple of times where they are out of stock of a product and it has taken over 2 /3 months to get. ( this wasn't during their big sale in Dec or June). One time I didn't even get the product but they took my money up front, I had to ask for refund because it was over 3 months and I was tired of waiting. read more

I also just came back from having an awesome massage from Amanda,I read Windy's review and it sounded like I had written that. I must have come in right after her and having checked out a couple other places for massages in last couple of years, this is my second time here for one and this has to be the best place for a massage or facial. I am surprised that people are doing reviews about religiosity stuff bothering them. I didn't even notice any except for a beautiful song I heard while relaxing in tea room might have sounded like a hymn that I love but nothing at all in there is overbearing and "so what" as was also mentioned in other reviews. When I get a massage at the Asian place as was mentioned before, I don't wig out because there are the Buddha images all around. I am there for the massage and as a Christian, I hope the owner listens to those of us who like what you have there. Back to review, friendly at front desk, very nicely decorated with yummy treats and delicious tea. The hydrotherapy bath is very relaxing but Amanda was just super and I will be back. I am going to guess that those who are giving bad reviews must work at similar businesses in the area and want it to look bad but guess what, they are dead wrong and they did not try to oversell anything to me when I had the facial a year or so ago. Very nice friendly staff and very accommodating. Peaceful and relaxed is how I feel right now after going there. read more

I have been a client now for about 15 years with dozens of my friends and co-workers. I recommend Skinsations to everyone. I consider myself a spa diva and have been everywhere. I also consider myself a spa goer expert. I'll explain later why I'm writing. As a long term client I know everyone here old and new. Let me tell you from my experiences what this place is really like. First of all amazingly beautiful. Over all these years of course I have had times when things have gone wrong. Every time I told Leaine (the owner) or Kim (spa director) they bent over backwards to make it right. They listen, they responed. Mostly they always care. When my daughter was in intensive care Leaine came to the hospital to do facials for her. When she passed they were there. After they invited my immediate family in for complimentry treatments for a much needed pamper day. Every year for Mothers Day and Christmas they send out an e-mail for us to nominate someone who really needs a day of pampering who could not afford it, given a full day at the spa with products to take home (one year it was a co-worker I nominated thats how I found out what they did for the recepient). Recently one of my friends who I sent to the spa years ago fell on hard times (an understatement) and lost EVERYTHING. This was a very wealthy woman who happened to be one of Leaine's personal clients. Having dinner with her, through tears she told me Leaine has her coming in for free facials and products till she gets back on her feet. A few times since this turn in our economy an e-mail was sent out for anyone who needed prayer or someone just to talk to, they opened thier doors early morning to be there for me. As far as services especially facials with what is included you can not beat their price. Half the things included everywhere I have been and you all know it's an "upgrade". An affordable luxury day spa, what a concept! I had never heard of yelp until my last treatment at Skinsations Spa when a woman was berating (just what I needed after a relaxing facial to get rid of the effects of stress) the poor receptionist about bad customer service. And telling her everyone was going to hear about this on yelp.com To my amazement the woman was mad that the receptionist would not get someone out of one particular bathroom where she left her car keys. Explaining to this woman she had knocked on the door to see if she would be done soon. When the pregnant woman walked out she was blue with morning sickness. I thought she was out of her mind but this business would be effected by someone like her? I"m relieved to see she did not write. I used to be that woman. And the idiot below, on their web-site go to spa policies under payment of services and products I easily found "prices are subject to change". .To the other, maybe the client before you got there 25 minutes late making the waxer rushed! I'm amazed it was never mentioned how horrible it must have been waiting in the blissful tearoom were they serve complimentry hot foot baths and a complete beverage bar. Where I've been you get just water maybe tea. How aweful you had time to read a magazine. Why do we only mention the negitive with not one positive? Kudo's to you who did! Life is tough enough have a little grace, how do you feel when a boss just addresses the wrong and never seems to notice and mention what you are doing right? Being a business owner is hard. Why not complain first when there to see what they'll do? You might be surprised what a business will do given the chance. Oh thats right your afraid to confront in person to those who can really have the chance to make it right given the chance. Just learned they recently found out about yelp and are doing what they have always done best, listen, respond and care. I guess it's the judgement of a buseness with very little experience your writting about that bothers me most. Most businesses are not out to get you. Are all allowed an off day or just you? Some don't mean for things to go wrong, they just do. I think it's called human nature. I'm writing because I was one of those woman always getting my point across but with manipulation and a bull dozer additude to everyone who would listen wanting to make sure those in my path way knew about their shortcomings and it must be that way for everyone who would go. Better yet lets save them and make sure they just don't go at all. Feeling better making someone else feel worse of my injustice. I have made of vow to compliment at least 4 people a day and funny I feel better. It does not get any better then Skinsations. You'll feel the care in every treatment you try.
