My son, who has ADHD, was dismissed suddenly and without prior warning--a decision that violated their own three-step disciplinary policy. What we experienced: Incident reports that were vague, inconsistent, and never properly shared, despite numerous formal requests Missed doses of ADHD medication with no timely communication Ongoing bullying that was brought up multiple times and never addressed A rotating door of teachers, inconsistent structure, and poor classroom management Staff who told my child he would be "sent home" if he couldn't "get it together"--which is especially damaging to a child with behavioral challenges We tried for weeks to resolve this professionally, but the lack of transparency and follow-through from leadership was extremely disappointing. No one has yet to show me how to make payments online. As I am over $600 behind. I was not billed in an advance as shown in the contract. No one took my payment to have it automatically taken out. No communicated with me about it until after a month my daughter started. I have child care subsidy and no one notified about how much I owed until after a month. I have shown my concerns to the owner and nothing is being done. So I'm just getting further behind and no one is doing nothing. Legally I have proof that the contract was breached and this can be taken to court. I am not being heard and no one wants to take accountability. I had a whole break down that caused me to step away from my job from the words that was coming from Mrs.Robin. As for the owner of Precious Time Child Development I am asking to be heard and for something to be done. Unfortunately I would have to take this to court if nothing will be done.

We brought safety issues to the attention of the staff and directors multiple times. There were several occasions where we picked our son up and he had bruises or cuts that the teachers couldn't explain. At a minimum, once we pointed them out they should have been documented. The teacher would say she didn't see what happened. When I explained my concerns to a director, she said "That's just how the children play with each other". So there appeared to be a lack of concern for preventing or remedying the issue. Our son began to state that he didn't want to go to school. We didn't want our son to develop a negative perception of school or learning that could impact him later on. Primrose is very expensive, and for the money, parents should at least be assured that their children are safe. The last time I spoke to one of the staff members about the issue I said I wanted to take time to brainstorm and come up with potential solutions. I proposed volunteering in the classroom, but the idea was rejected. The rationale given was "state guidelines". At least one other parent was already volunteering; no other school we interviewed indicated that there were state guidelines that would prevent parents from volunteering. The secondary concern was our son's kindergarten readiness. If he was indifferent about attending and worried about whether another child was going to hit or harass him, he would be unable to focus. Also, although I think the balanced learning approach works for some children, it wasn't what our son needed to get him ready for kindergarten. Two other schools we interviewed have children our son's age reading and spelling three to five letter words. That wasn't happening at Primrose. For the reasons above, I can't recommend Primrose.

Avoid Midlothian Kids Academy at all costs…read more This daycare has extremely high staff turnover and poor supervision of the children. When my son moved to the two-year-old classroom, we were told they would help with potty training -- but within a week they began complaining about accidents and even suggested we bring in Pampers. It was clear they just didn't want to do their job. I refused, and ironically, my son's potty training improved right after that. The food they serve is subpar -- my son comes home hungry every day. Classrooms are often combined because they're short-staffed, creating chaos and disorganization. When incidents happen, they rarely communicate unless you call to ask what happened. One of the most concerning experiences was when my son came home with his face visibly swollen from crying. We were told he had a hard time going to sleep at nap time -- but we picked him up at 5 p.m., which means he was left crying unattended for an extended period of time. That's completely unacceptable and heartbreaking for any parent to hear. Worst of all, the director is dismissive and gaslights parents instead of being transparent or taking accountability. If you care about your child's safety, nutrition, and emotional well-being, run far away from this place.

They have a "cut-off" time to check in at 9am, they will not let you enter the classroom past this time. The food is garbage, oatmeal every day, no utensils for the older kids. The leaders don't care about your children, they just want your money. They try to find ways to send the children home early (based off a couple other parents I have spoken to). One of the staff members are very aggressive physically with the "more difficult" kids and when they don't listen or are having a hard time. Children are abused here. They are bitten, pinched, forced to sit in chairs, cursed at and…read moredegraded, they are threatened. The teachers know which kids they can do what to; for instance, they know where the cameras are, and they know the 1-2 year olds won't repeat threats. Management is complicit, and they turn their eyes to the abuse because they are afraid of their family-owned business being under scrutiny. One of the members of management told a one year old girl she needed to lay still so she could get her "pussy" cleaned. Kids are regularly told, "If you were my kid, you wouldn't sit down for a week," things like that. I reported the abuse but they did nothing because I didn't realize how widespread it was; multiple teachers laugh when a teacher is "fed up" and threatens a kid. They all do it. It is terrifying. These kids can't defend themselves, and they can't tell us that it's happening, but it is awful and they need help. ​

Our Experience at Celebree School…read more Our experience at Celebree School has been excellent. We are very happy with the school, the teachers, and especially with the progress we have seen in both of our daughters. I would especially like to recognize Ms. Sohina Biswas, who has been teaching my daughter Chloe. Chloe started at the school only a few months ago, and when she started, she did not know how to write her own name, recognize the alphabet, or identify numbers. Now, as she gets ready to move on to preschool, she has learned all of these skills. We are incredibly happy and grateful for everything Ms. Sohina has done for her. Chloe absolutely loves her! I also want to thank Ms. Sarita, who has been wonderful with Chloe as well. We truly appreciate the patience, kindness, and dedication of her teachers. My younger daughter is 1 year and 5 months old, and we have also seen so much progress in her development. She has become very communicative and is learning new words and expressions every day. She says "thank you," "you're welcome," and "bless you" when someone sneezes, and she can already count to two. It is so rewarding to see how much she is learning and developing. We also had a wonderful experience with Ms. Vivian. Having her as my daughter's teacher was truly wonderful, and we are very grateful for all the care and love she gave her. Overall, we really love Celebree School and are very happy with the education and care our daughters receive. We can clearly see how much they are learning and growing, and we feel very grateful to have such wonderful teachers caring for our children.

Update: Initially, I was hopeful my report to the Department of Social Services would be…read moresufficient, but unfortunately, the "investigation" let me down. I reported Celebree School of Henrico for the following violations: Special Care Provisions, Emergencies, and Staffing and Supervision. On August 18, 2025, I received the daily report for my daughter, who was exclusively breastfed, which reported she was offered and took 4oz of formula. Celebree's response was nonchalant, and that it was entered incorrectly. The investigator agreed, even though she and I both uncovered that they had gone back into my daughter's report and changed days and weeks of data regarding feeding. Given this incident and the previous, recent violation in February 2025, where staff mistakenly fed a child another child's breastmilk, I find that hard to believe. Regarding the Staffing and Supervision violation, oftentimes, my daughter's teacher(s) had not arrived when she was dropped off, and she would have to go to the other infant room, meaning the 1:4 ratio was exceeded. We'd drop off a teary-eyed girl and pick up a hungry, sad, and sleepy girl. As new parents, we wrongly assumed that it was normal or that there would be an adjustment period. As time passed, it became clear her basic needs were not being met. My biggest regret, one I feel guilty to this day, was not unenrolling sooner. My hope in sharing this new information with other parents is simply that how you interpret and what you do with it is ultimately up to you. Trusting someone and someplace with your child is not easy, and I wish all parents nothing but the best care. (End)
