Absolute joke of a business! Bought a washer and dryer that was supposed to have a 1 month warranty. Within two weeks,washer was not spinning out. Called to get repaired,and kept setting appointments that were never met. They would come up with excuses. Like an employees girlfriend stole a work truck. Another time,an employee had to be back in Springfield to pick kids up from daycare. How is this my problem? This was purchased from Bloomington,Illinois location. This company and its personnel are very disappointing. They advertise tested, working, used appliances with a 30day warranty. However, it saddens me to say they are not above taking your money and giving you devices that do not even have essential parts of a running compressor. The machine can not possibly work without it, according to the manufacturer of the item. I tried many respectful resolutions such as them buying the parts, and I would do the repair, replacement with a different one. Finally, after two months of having an appliance that legit never worked, I asked if I could have my money back and for them to please get the machine out of my home. They refused. Sky Appliances is a terrible business to have in our community and gives honest resale stores a lousy reputation. LISTEN TO THE COMMENTS on legit EVERY site they have. I inquired about his trustworthiness after paying 450 for my washing machine and finding out it supposedly needed repairs costing 400bdollars supposedly due to a grounded wire. He found out I asked about him and started sending me very rude and disrespectful texts about how I had disrespected him and how bad my landlord was for allowing me to have a fire hazard that he could not have known existed. He kept telling me how he has 3 businesses in 3 different towns and how his business was named after his daughter and how I called him a liar and how I second guessed his technician. I have been recieving calls for months from people looking for Zach, an appliance repairman. Today, the lady who called me explained that she got my number from Sky Appliance and gave me their number. So, I called Sky Appliance to see if they were giving out the wrong number, or if people were misdialing (this option seems unlikely as I get 2 to 3 calls a week). I was immediately met with hostility and screaming by the man who answered the phone. He cursed and yelled and hung up on me before sending me a text furthering his assault. If this is the business owner, then shame on you for your HORRIBLE communication skills, if this was an employee, then hopefully he will be released of his duties so that he no longer has the opportunity to treat people this way while representing this business. read more

BUYER BEWARE :: DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!! When there was a problem, the -owner- basically told me I could "stick it up my a**" --- Read more for the whole story --- I found this place via FB Marketplace, but they didn't mention the name of the business on the platform (I'm guess the poor reviews are the reason). Just mentioned that they had a lot of used appliances. Ended up purchasing a washing machine. Was told it had a 30-day warranty. When I asked for an explanation, I was told that if I had a problem with the unit, they would fix it, give me a replacement used unit, or if a reasonable solution couldn't be found, I'd get my money back. I said that I lived abt 40 miles away and was told by the salesman that wasn't a problem, that the technician "goes all over". So, fast forward, within 1 week of purchase, the unit starting making a LOUD, ratcheting/grinding noise. On the purchase receipt, the salesman had provided his number and told me to contact -him- with any issues. So, I did... i made contact via text and phone calls. Sent pictures and video snippets of the noise, etc, etc. I was always the one to initiate the calls, but at least he answered. I know he is busy, but never once was I called back, I always had to initiate the call. Eventually, after 11 days of calls/texts with the salesman, I was given the owner's number to call. I called him that day, and the owner was short with his conversation and tried to troubleshoot the problem over the phone, but also acknowledged he was not a technician and that I would need to "bring the unit in (to Bloomington) and they would look at it". ... Huh?! ... I was told by the salesman that having the the tech come to our house would not be a problem. This is a washing machine, not a spare tire... it's not exactly easy to "just drop it off" and be without a washing machine while it's being "looked at"?! I contacted the salesman who basically told me that he was surprised by that as well, but pretty much said, "he's the owner" and that I'd have to work it out with him. So, I called a second time and said bringing the washer back down to Bloomington wasn't an acceptable solution based upon what I had been told at point of sale by salesman and that if I was bringing the washer back, I would just prefer to have my money back... after this, the owner, Lonnie, went off like a firecracker. Belittling, stating they never give money back - only that they would fix the unit or provide a different one, asking why I was just now calling him about this issue that had been going on for almost 3 weeks (mind you, I had been in frequent contact with the salesman and I hadn't even been given the owner's number until ~19 days after purchase). Owner was yelling, talking over me when I was trying to explain what I had been told by salesman. Said that he was only trying to be helpful and that he could just tell me to "stick it up my a**". So, heed warning ... they say these units have been "inspected" by a licensed technician prior to selling, but seems more like they probably run a cycle and roll the dice that they are fine. If you decide to take the chance and buy here, hopefully you live -IN- or nearby Bloomington or maybe you enjoy moving major appliances into and out of your house, because the warranty is worthless... shop elsewhere. read more

Drove about an over an hour to buy a fridge and came home to it not working properly, after getting it looked at it was a useless fridge, went to bring it back and couldn't get my money back only store credit was out a week without a fridge and gave up and bought a new fridge. read more

There needs to be a ZERO stars option here. Do not recommend. Should have paid more attention to other reviews I have seen before I called. (Check BBB and angie's list) A tech showed up in flip-flops with a handful of tools, not in a marked vehicle. Did not look professional and did not seem dressed to perform maintenance. Told me to replace my dryer timer. I bough a new timer and replaced it and, surprise, same problem. Called to get my money back, and was brow-beaten by whatever Neanderthal answers their phone about how I messed it up by replacing it myself and trying to save money. No, dumb a$$ I want to get ripped off by your "business" and spend the most money possible!! How dare I !!! Was then told by him, the "tech" and the owner (who was texting me while he was driving a semi, he told me) that I got a bad part. That I got a bad part that has the exact same fault as the timer I had replaced??? BUT he would sell me a new dryer for $50 off. So the dryer I have has a bad timer but I should by a new dryer?? SHADY, Stay away from these people. FYI, their website says the service call is $25 but that turns into $35 when they get to your house. SO beware. I have reported them to the legal office at the national guard base in the city, so maybe they can warn service members if there are enough complaints against them. read more
