I would give 0 stars if I could. My experience at Sky Life Recovery House was completely unacceptable and, in my opinion, unsafe. The care I received did not align with what was advertised on the website or included in my invoice. There were multiple basic supplies missing throughout my stay, including gauze pads, alcohol wipes, functioning medical equipment, and other items specifically listed as part of the "all inclusive" package. I also did not receive amenities that were advertised, including the swag bag, peptide/collagen drinks, and other recovery items. The biggest concern was the level of patient care and medication management. Staff repeatedly failed to administer medications correctly or consistently. On one occasion, when I asked for anti-nausea medication after vomiting from severe pain, I was brought the wrong medication entirely. Staff also could not consistently tell me when pain medication had last been administered, which resulted in unnecessary pain and distress during recovery. I was frequently left alone for extended periods of time despite being in a vulnerable post-operative condition. I was often left alone in my room with nobody checking on me for hours at a time. Calls for assistance frequently went unanswered, vitals were rarely checked unless I specifically asked, and important information such as drain outputs was not consistently recorded. My bed pads were never changed during my stay, which was both unhygienic and unacceptable for a post-surgical recovery facility. One staff member spent the majority of the time on her phone and would stay in another room rather than monitoring me. During massages, the massage therapist repeatedly had to ask staff to assist me with basic needs such as ice and water. Another serious issue was the communication barrier. One caregiver could not adequately read medication labels or assist with important information relating to my care, which I found extremely concerning for a recovery facility responsible for post-surgical patients. The meals provided were also extremely disappointing. They were bland, repetitive, and lacked variety. I was never once asked what foods I wanted to eat - nothing that is in the supposed menu on their website was provided to me. There were also no snacks available, and when I asked for collagen or peptide drinks, I was told there were none. At one point, the caregiver had to leave the apartment for approximately 30 minutes to buy food because there was no stock in the apartment and nothing available for me to eat for breakfast, leaving me completely alone without care or supervision during my post-operative recovery. I was also concerned by the fact that caregivers were using their phones while driving, which I found incredibly unsafe, especially while transporting post-operative patients. When I attempted to raise my concerns with the owner, she came to the apartment and screamed at me while standing over me as I lay recovering in a chair. Rather than addressing the issues professionally, I was accused of being racist and rude to staff. I categorically deny this. I have multiple witnesses, including a highly respected massage therapist who attended during my stay, who can attest that my concerns were entirely related to patient care and safety, and that I was never rude or discriminatory toward staff. The owner is also now attempting to claim that I asked to extend my stay, which is completely false. At no point did I request an extension. I attempted to resolve these concerns privately before leaving this review. Unfortunately, my experience was deeply distressing and did not reflect the level of care or professionalism advertised. Where to even begin? My stays with Skylife began two years ago in 2023. I was recovering from two big cosmetic procedures. A mommy makeover, if you will. And again this past month for a corrective procedure. I knew from the get-go that I was in the best hands. Liz is a mother and a fellow member of the mommy makeover committee. So she knew exactly how to ensure my stays were the most comfortable and the most healing experience. I opted for the all-inclusive package which provided me with daily nurse check-ins on my vitals, med administration and accounting, help using the ladies room, help showering, all meals included *tailored to my specifications (provided the doctor's approval) and rides to all my post-op appointments. Outside of what was expected of her, Liz went out of her way to provide the most important element: comfort. She provided so much ease and encouragement with her presence alone. Over the years Liz has made invaluable connections with so many people in the industry. This allowed her to direct me to the right person for all my pre- and post-op needs. I paid this lady almost 4000 coming from out of town and she refused to take care of me because I get medical marijuana where I'm from she told me she was going to send me a refund within 30 days. It's been three weeks and I still haven't got a refund. I have been messaging her and she just ignores me like a child. I don't appreciate how rude this lady was to me for my medical issues that I have. I was born with a genetic rare disease that I take THC gummy's for and now she is refusing to give me my money back and to even message me back. It is very unprofessional and I would not recommend this place to anyone. I also want to mention, they have had many writeup penalties against their facility or place where they take care of girls. You can ask any other recovery place in Houston about this place and they will tell you they have had penalties against them save your money, ladies and go to a real recovery home. I stayed here for 10 days in 2022 and 2 weeks This month after my scar tissue removal surgery and had a great experience with Liz and all her staff. I found them through Dr. Jung's list of recommended Luxury Post Op care here in Houston. Sky Life is highly recommend for being an A-List recovery center. My entire family are from Houston. I'm the only one living in California. I could stay with my Mom to take care of me but why do that? When I have the professionals to do it for me. Skylife took great care of me. From airport pick up drop off to getting my prescriptions, drove me to my post op appointments (massages, doctors visits, to grabbing my coffee). On my second night, I experienced high temperature and chills. One of their staff stayed with me the entire night in my room to make sure I am taken care of and made me feel that i will be fine. I stayed at Sky Life for 14 days after surgery. It was the first and only procedure I've ever had, and I was extremely nervous, especially since I was traveling alone and had no idea what to expect. From the beginning, Liz made my experience so easy. I booked almost a year in advance, and when my surgery got moved up by 6 months, Liz was able to accommodate me. She even honored a flash sale that I missed by a few hours, which was unexpected and very sweet of her to do. To my surprise, I was put in the penthouse - it was BEAUTIFUL and CLEAN! If you are in a shared space, Liz mindfully pairs you with someone she thinks would click, and I absolutely adored my surgery sis in the suite.. truly a new friend for life. I was well taken care of, and there was a nurse on site at all times. Shout out to my girl Miss Samone, Miss Mary, and Miss Brenda for being amazing, cooking us every meal, and being there when we needed help. When Liz was in the suite taking care of us, it always felt like a girls night, and she was the hostess, setting up the prettiest meal spreads, chatting up, and just having a good time. It made something that could be a very vulnerable and scary time feel much more comfortable. Also, the fact that I did not have to buy or bring my own supplies was a HUGE plus. Flying in from california all I needed was a carry on and my purse.. for the full 2 weeks! Even after my stay, Liz still continues to help me if I have any questions or concerns; I don't know too many businesses that will do this after their services are complete. Hey guys I recently stayed at sky life recovery for a total of 10 days. I had just went into surgery got my bbl,arms n thighs lipo so u can imagine how sore I'd be n if u can't it's very painful! I booked a twin xl all inclusive package n the last couple of days I was doing so well healing I switched to lodging and meals only. My daughter came the last couple days they fed her too! The food was delicious! They had me drink healthy juices, teas, and smoothies to assure that my recovery is best as possible. I love the ambiance here, family friendly n superb service. I have family who live in the city that came to visit me which was awesome! They really enjoyed the view on the balcony lol that's 10 out 10 n the city lights at night is so pretty! We walked over to voodoo donuts and walgreens it was fun! Omg theres also KungFu boba tea a block away! Boba is life lol! Many great restaurants nearby also. I remembered on my 1st night while still coming off anesthesia every movement I make or getting up to use the restroom nurse Mary asked "u good?! "U Need anything? "Everyone on sky life recovery team was very nice the nurses are attentive which was comforting. I would highly recommend anyone who is coming out of surgery put their life under sky life's care. This review is long overdue! Skylife was my home away from home when I was recovering from the hardest surgery I've ever had done. From the moment I called to inquire about staying at skylife I felt like it was the right fit for me. Eric answered every question I had in depth and he made me feel like I would really be cared for at skylife. When I arrived in Houston my mom and I were picked up at the airport and taken straight to my pre op appointment. From there we were taken to pick up my medication from the pharmacy and even stopped for some groceries I wanted. Eric helped me get a discount on my meds, rather than paying over $400 I paid $165. This is one of the many ways that skylife goes above and beyond. After surgery Miss Brenda checked on me frequently, she helped me do everything and cooked delicious meals. All of the nurses were so kind, caring and patient. Miss Simone had the best calming energy, Miss Mary made a delicious pineapple tea, Miss Angela was so sweet and helped me pack up all my belongings on my last day. If I needed anything at all all I had to do was text and they came right up to the one bedroom apartment I was staying in. If I wanted company I could go up to the penthouse and hangout with the other girls and nurses. Ced the driver was kind and patient as well, he drove me safely to every appointment early or on time. I booked the one bedroom apartment so that I could have extra privacy, the apartment was beautifully furnished, clean and came stocked with snacks and supplies. The bed was very comfortable and the apartment had an incredible view. I took numerous walks and was able to enjoy a farmers market just down the street and a great little shopping center. Fantastic week-long recovery experience. Liz and the team of nurses at Skylife were so knowledgeable, I said to my husband multiple times during our stay "what would we have done without them?" And I meant it. No matter how much research you try to do before a procedure you just can't beat an experienced recovery staff. Nurses came in to my room at least every 2 hours my first few days of recovery and were always easy to reach if I needed them more frequently. Food was delivered consistently and if I needed slight modification (like when I needed soup after not being able to keep anything down after surgery) it was provided quickly. The team really goes above and beyond. Without going into too much detail (keeping it G rated for Yelp) recovery can be gross. Skylife is there every step of the way, ready to help you through it all. Full disclosure - I did have some transportation scheduling issues the day before my surgery, but Skylife went above and beyond to make it right. To me, it's not about being perfect, it's about how you handle speed bumps along the way. Overall my stay was great. I could not have gone through with my procedure or ended up with my life changing results if I didn't have Skylife caring for me afterwards. Absolutely loved my stay at Skylife. I was extremely nervous to get my BBL, & I knew I was going to need a nurse to do all the things. This is a difficult surgery & not one you want to burden your friends or family with (especially if they've never been through it either)! There are a lot of moving parts. First off, they pick you up at the airport. The rooms are extremely CLEAN!!! This is the most important thing for me. They provide all your meals & have all the supplies you could need during recovery. All your meals will be low sodium high protein (or as your doctor recommends). They drive you to and from all your massages in a brand new Tesla (um helloooo, can you say luxury?!) The nurses are very sweet, Miss Brenda, Angela & Mary were my favorite. I would recommend the queen corner unit. When my flight got cancelled, Liz came to my rescue within half an hour!!! At this point my package was over, but she still showed up for me in my time of need. Eric & Liz (the owners) really care & have a nurturing heart for their guests. Even after, they send me tips & positive messages to my SX page. I can't say enough good things. I couldn't imagine going through this surgery without them! They went above and beyond for me & my bestie (who also had surgery there 1 week prior). We LOVE Skylife. If I have a round 2 I would 100% stay there again. After countless hours of research, I decide to select Sky Life recovery for my Post Op Care. As a business owner and out of state patient, first impressions and customer service are very important. The first call I made to sky life was answered with a professional greeting and they took the time to answer all of my important questions, which seems to be rarer these days. It was so refreshing to receive the professional experience. Upon my arrival at the Houston airport, my driver from sky life was on time and waiting for me right outside the door as instructed. The drive from the airport to the sky life location took about a half-hour & our driver was very friendly and safe. Once I arrived at sky life I was greeted by a professional & very friendly staff member that gave me a tour of the location in which I was very impressed with the cleanliness, pent house view and friendly environment. The big day had arrived and sky life drove me at 5am to the hospital for my surgery. Once my surgery was completed they had an amazing setup for me to comfortably be transferred to the recovery center. Most importantly they provided me with a walker that I used all 14 days to get around. I had now arrived at the recovery center after surgery and their amazing team got right to work and made sure they did everything they could to assist me through the process. My stay was for a total of 14 days and each day was great. The entire team worked very hard daily to assist me with every step from medication, showering, helping with the faja and compression socks, friendly talks daily, and all the amazing food which included awesome teas and smoothies throughout the day. I even made a great friend who was going through a similar surgery and just helped to have someone experiencing my same symptoms and providing advice and tips on how to deal with certain things. Sky Life Recovery is top notch. I am an out of town patient and did not know what to expect especially traveling by myself. I got the 8 days all inclusive package and added 2 more days. I was very nervous. Researching all the surgical supplies, even purchasing them, and constantly watching recovery videos just in case. I didn't even need to bring anything. All the supplies was provided. I was literally stressing myself out for no reason. They provided the best supplies. No knock off brand. For my meals, everyday they asked what would you like and they purchased groceries fresh every morning. Overall the experience was at eased. Liz, Eric, and all the nurses made me feel for comfortable. 24 hour on site nurse! Everything was such a breeze. I learned so much. I don't think I would've recovered all by myself or even with family and friends. Nurses were very attentive and supportive. Definitely recommend. Btw, I overpack. I can't say enough about Liz and the whole Skylife team! Getting surgery can be scary and stressful but they made the entire experience from start to finish feel like a 5-star vacation. The views from the penthouse were so beautiful. Meals, accommodations, the most comfortable transportation in high end vehicles, supplies, the service EVERYTHING was on point. I originally wasn't planning on staying at a post-op recovery center and was just going to stay with family but I'm so glad I did. The professional care I received with Skylife is above and beyond what anyone in my family could of done. I know this to be especially true bc I checked out of Skylife and came back just a couple days later lol. There's also something to be said about being around other dolls who are going through the same thing as you. It definitely helps lift the spirit on those tougher days.
