When I started vetting dog sitters at the beginning of the year, I knew I had to go with someone I could trust to come and go as I needed and take really good care of my boys. I called on Wednesday to schedule a reproductive/insemination exam for my dog and clearly explained what I needed. I was given a Friday 8:00 AM appointment and even received an email confirmation the next day verifying it. I showed up on time, only to be met with zero professionalism. No greeting. No courtesy. Just a cold "What can I help you with?" After sitting in the lobby for 30 minutes, I was finally told they "don't do that here but instead I can "be referred to a Vet Clinic in San Antonio". Why not ? Is it because I'm the only Mexican in the Lobby with a Dog that looks like a Drug Dealer would Own? Or because I'm not your Average Joe with a Typical American Household Dog sitting in your lobby waiting for services. So why was I allowed to schedule it? Why confirm it? Why wait until I'm physically sitting in the lobby to say you don't provide that service? I took off work and lost a day's wages for this appointment. That's time and money I don't get back. And instead of owning their mistake, no apology was offered. Instead, I was told they could still do a quick exam -- but I'd have to pay the exam fee -- or I could "be Referred to San Antonio to find someone else" Charging someone after YOUR office scheduled the wrong service is unacceptable. That is poor management, poor communication, and a complete disregard for clients' time. Offering a different service while still charging the exam fee does not correct the original mistake. I did not schedule a general exam -- I scheduled a specific reproductive service that your office infact confirmed would be completed. If this is how they handle basic scheduling, I would strongly question how they handle more serious matters. Do better.
