The staff is very friendly. The facilities are nice. Of course the actual skydiving was amazing! I do have an issue with the lack of communication and the waiting! True, the website says to plan for half a day and they will take it! From the website: Q: How long will it take? Plan on spending half a day with us. The plane ride and skydive takes 20 minutes but we need ample time for paperwork, training with your instructor and potentially weather. What they don't tell you is that there is seemingly no plan for working tandems into their very busy schedule of certified solo jumpers. Plan on checking in on time, or early, spending about 30 minutes on filling out the waiver which asks for the same information multiple times and then not getting a clear idea of when you'll actually jump for a couple of hours. Meanwhile, you kill the day watching the same group of experienced jumpers land over and over and over again. Hey Skydive AZ, if you don't want to take tandems, don't book them! Here's some free consulting advice: Know how many tandem qualified jumpers you need for the number of bookings you take for each timeslot. If I have a 10:00 check-in time, you know it will take some time to watch the safety video and do the waiver, so schedule me to meet my tandem 'guide' at 10:45 or 11:00 for an 11:15 or 11:30 flight (for example). Once finished jumping, you know how long it takes the guide to pack the chute and be ready for the next jump, taking into account any regulations on the number they can do in a given timeframe. It seems that whatever process you're using is broken. Please fix it. I will definitely go skydiving again, just not at Skydive AZ unless you can get some sense of organization and scheduling in place. Checking in at 8:00 and jumping at 12:45 is not a good experience. read more

Beautiful sunny day to go Skydiving! Definitely worth the drive to free fall for 60 seconds out of a plane, 13,000 feet above ground! We waited about an hour after signing documents and speaking with the professional skydivers. Rich was very thorough and had such a positive energy which made this experience so much fun. I wasn't scared or worried whatsoever because he made me feel very safe. I definitely will be back and I'll be requesting him again! Eddie was my media guy, he captured all the photos and videos from start to finish. He did such a fantastic job in such a short amount of time and provided it to me in a USB drive. I surprised my boyfriend with skydiving for Valentine's Day and we both had a blast! The place was easy to find and just a little over an hour outside of Phoenix. I like that they have a swimming pool, gift shop, and restaurant -- kind of cool to have options or things to do, especially if you do have to wait to jump. Customer service was good, a little dry, but overall easy and straightforward. After check in they make you fill out some legal forms and watch a short video. If I'm being completely honest, I had jumped twice before and they never made us watch a video, it was daunting, even for me and it was my third jump. I think everyone understands that skydiving is dangerous and that basically, you get seriously injured or die if sh*t goes wrong lol so let's just nix that part of the process!! You're really not doing anyone any favors. My boyfriend was handling the surprise pretty well until we had to watch that dumb video where he then said, "I really don't want to do this." He did! But it just goes to show the negative impact that video can cause. Just one aspect, again, I think they could do without. Yes, it's scary and dangerous, but it's also FUN! We went on a Saturday morning and didn't have to wait long to jump at all... and I will say the personalities of our tandems were great -- as well as the videographer. There wasn't really much of a "vibe" at this place, but they made it a good time for us by just being fun and laidback. I also like that they were cognizant of the temperature and offered us jumpsuits and gloves for our jump. It was freezing! I paid a little more for this place than others I'd been to, but in the end, we received a free t-shirt and appetizer so I suppose that makes up for the difference. This wasn't my first time skydiving, but in Arizona it was. Skydive Arizona is in the small town of Eloy. My girlfriend set everything up so when we were driving thru the town of Eloy I was a little skeptical until we arrived. You will understand once you make the drive. The place is pretty big it's like a small compound. Plenty of parking and there are several buildings including a restaurant and apparel store. Large restrooms that are very clean. The restaurant has a large dining area and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. There set up is very organized and it's family oriented. My instructor Bob was AWESOME!!!!!!I also met some of the other instructors that were pretty cool. We joked around all the way up until the jump. I've jumped before so I kind of knew what to expect. Honestly this was the best jump and experience I have had. Everyone there was Great. There a lot to do once you've completed your jump. They encourage you to stay and hang out to do some shopping and enjoy the food. They don't rush you out the door once your jump is completed and that says a lot about how they run their business. I even got a free T-Shirt and a coupon voucher for a free side item at the restaurant. I'm already planing to come back again but this time I'm bringing some first time jumpers to experience this well run operation. If you get a change ask for Bob tell him Oscar sent you. Over 20 years in business without a single death? Very reassuring when I'm plunging from 13,000 feet in the air!!! Breathe, breathe, breathe ... I survived without injury and am here to testify!! Want a play by play of the 1-minute free fall and parachute down? Not gonna tell ya, just go do it!!! :) I will say the staff, the tandem instructor and even my camera guy were all super cool and friendly! The area for improvement would lie in the organization and waiting period, a lot of waiting around. They were accurate in stating that there would be a 2-4-hour wait, which included waits for registration/training, flight time, pictures/video completion. During each interval, we were told to check back in 10-15 min. and when we'd come back, we were told more time. There's an office with a waiting area and a huge outdoor area, you wouldn't hear them calling you outside. So we kept shuffling in and out with all that waiting, I didn't want to miss my turn. They need to install a loud speaker so we can roam freely! Next jump's gotta be over a tropical island ... :) read more

I celebrated my Dirty-30 here and I'm glad I did. You might ask yourself, how scary is this and even as someone who is mildly scared of heights - this is a must do! As another reviewer said, aside from the initial jump the experience is quite serene! There is no feeling like free-falling to us simply because humans weren't meant to fly. Thanks for the safe flight Bob! Believe it or not, the Eloy Airport is the home to one of the biggest jump points in the world. Yes, I said WORLD. If you don't believe me, then ask the people working there. I personally jumped with Brazilians and Norwegians who were there training for a 200 man jump. Yes, they came all the way from their countries to train here in humble Eloy! This place is no joke. The jump instructors are awesome too. Remember, it is their job to get you to the ground... because if they don't then that means they don't get to the ground! What to remember? Well, stay calm! These people have many jumps under their belt (my brother's jump partner had over 3000) and they know what to do. All you truly need to remember is that when you get to the door don't look down, tilt your head back some, and then when you're flying put your legs together and curl them up towards their butt. All of this will make the trip enjoyable and safer for both of you. The bad about the place? Well, they didn't give a ton of instruction of what to do. My youngest brother got the most instruction and we kind of just followed suite. honestly though, there isn't much to it if you follow my instructions above. Also, the paperwork seems endless. I know it is liability, but yuck on paperwork when you are rearing to go! Also, skip the video and just get the stills if you want a memory. Nobody wants to see you saying stupid shit to the camera for 15 minutes or hearing your teeth chatter in fear! So I obviously survived. What an experience! I do many extreme sports, but this has taken the cake in absolute thrill and exhilaration. I am now desiring a certification in skydiving because I loved it so much and felt/experienced the safety involved in this sport. Kevin did my tandem with me and was confident, which made me feel relaxed and prepared for the jump. Side note: military and students get $20 off tandem jumps! Woohoo. Still photos and video can be purchased for extra as well. I recommend! It's not every day you jump out of a perfectly functioning airplane. Anyway, this place is like a camp. It offers training for solo jumping and also has an indoor wind tunnel for those that want the experience without the jumping out of the plane part. Lol. Service was great. I highly recommend this particular location for a jump. It's my second with SKYDIVE AZ. What I really recommend is being strapped to LOUIS, an Army ranger of 20+ years. He's super experienced and safe and more important, to the shallow female consumer, he easy on the eyes. Yes, if you must jump out of a plane at 14,000 feet, possibly plummeting to your death, is should be with a hot guide. Now to more grown-up topics. The entire outfit is clean and professionally run, on time and efficient. I asked my tandem if he had any horror stories. There were two. None involved blood or death. One involved a vomiting jumper at 12,000 feet. The other involved a jumper who passed out as soon as they rolled out. Again, perfect experience both times. I'll be back for my third! read more

What can I say but FUN. Eloy has one of the highest jumps at 13,000 feet altitude. I took a group of my corporate clients out most all of us were 1st time tandem jumpers. (You do agree to waive your life away normal for most outdoor adventure sports). It was a unique way to treat my clients to thank them for their business. The hardest part hearing the power of the air when the door opens realizing that you are doing something that goes against every natural instinct instilled in humans for eons of years. Then a count to 3 and a jump. The free fall exhilarating. But much to my surprise after the shoot opened and a bit of a jolt feeling like my stomach was in my mouth. Full on serenity...yes I said it....serenity. No noise no cars, no birds nada just the stillness of floating. Would do it all over again and again and again. read more

From start to finish it was an A+ experience. I had a great tandem guy which made my experience great, answered any questions I had and made me feel completely safe. Sorry I don't remember his name, but he was the coolest. My friends wore their street clothes to jump. I specifically asked for a jumpsuit, there was no extra charge. I just wanted to look cool in my pictures. Lol. As they are getting you set up with the straps they will be explaining the rules and what to expect. You will wait a bit for your turn. When they call you up, u will be taken to the plane. Once in the plane, it's loud. After you jump, the wind will make it a lil hard to breathe (a bit like when a baby gets too much air in their face), just relax and make sure to keep your eyes open for the pictures. When the chute opens, it pulls you up very quickly and sort of a jerky feel, not too bad tho. Then it will feel calm like you're floating. As your landing make sure to lift your feet up in front of you as high as possible. Dont forget to take in the experience! I got the picture and video package at an extra charge. I'm glad I got them, it was worth the money and I will have the memories of this awesome time. Don't forget to tip your tandem person. They're wonderful!! read more

Skydiving for the first time was a really fun experience. My whole life I have wondered what it would be like to observe the earth from space. To me, that would be one of the most amazing experiences. In my architecture college, I studied aerial maps and became fascinated. Jumping and looking at Arizona just as I have in maps was really rewarding. The guys there were fun loving people. The person who jumped with me had been jumping for 19years. They really know their stuff. As they should. I have to admit, I was a pretty easy customer. I didn't get sick in the air and wasn't very nervous or scared. I was Just more excited. Getting out of the plane was the scariest part, if not the most exciting. I couldn't believe how high up you fly. Once you jump out, you really don't have a choice but to enjoy yourself. It's beautiful, exhilarating and makes you feel like a total badass for about a week. Once he released the parachute, he pointed out Tucson and then Phx in the opposite direction. (You couldn't really see Phx because of all the co2 pollution :D). Landing was nice and smooth. I would def do a tandem jump again... Maybe in a more tropical location with a pretty view. not that az wasn't pretty. read more

Perhaps a training is needed for the two ladies on basic human decency (they were so rude to another customer in the office too, watching was very uncomfortable, it was not just us). It seems intimidating but the staff is super friendly and the experience itself is amazing. The free fall was thrilling and then the instructor pulled the parachute and everything slowed down which gives you a great opportunity to really take in the view. I opted for the video and photos and am so glad I did. A separate skydiver came with us to film the video which is cool because he captured the whole experience from a third person perspective. I love that I can watch it and relive my experience. They put together the video and photos in about 10-15 minutes after you're done with the skydive and they give it to you on a thumb drive. Today I went with my grandmother to go skydiving for my 25th birthday. It was my first time skydiving and her second time. Our reservation was for 1:00. We didn't end up jumping until 4:30. Three and a half hours after our reservation. The whole time we waited to board the plane, the employees in the office were unable to give us an estimated jump time until about 30 minutes before we actually jumped. Extremely frustrating. Not sure what the point of having a reservation was if they can't stick to it. Not only were we super late getting started, but the employees working in the office were a bit rude and unprofessional. They were cussing loudly in the back room so that everybody in the waiting room could hear. Jamie was the worst. She was busy making plans for the evening with her friends instead of attending to customers. Additionally, my instructor was not very friendly and was also even a little bit rude at times. The only reason that I gave this two stars instead of one was because my photographer was awesome! He was very friendly and funny. I wish I remembered his name but unfortunately I do not. read more
