Ok. I did it! I mustered the courage and jumped out a plane from 12,000 feet in the air! My goodness. To say I was scared is an understatement. I only did it because I'm competitive and I'm no punk! Registration was easy -- I did it onsite with no issues. Once you pay, you sign a waiver and you're off. There really isn't a training session. They just tell you a few do's and dont's, give you your harness and that's it. One would think it would be a bit more considering you're literally gambling with your life. So, at 12,000 feet, it's a little chilly up there lol. I kept my eyes closed for the first few seconds. I tried not to look around lol. I will say that I will never jump out of a plane -- willingly-- again. It's an experience for sure. If you're in the need for a thrill, this is it! read more

I came here celebrating my friend 50th bday!!! It was an absolutely beautiful day so i was vey excited. Until the overweight fee...I'm a thick lady so I had to pay extra for my full curves, pls keep that in mind. I should have called and questioned that fee before I arrived but since we drove more than an hour I reluctantly paid it. I did not want to pass on the opportunity to cross off an bucket list activity. I met my instructor Jahn and he was nice and I felt comfortable. He helped me into the gear and gave me some instructions to follow during the jump. The actual jumping out of a plane was better than I thought. Jahn did some spin things on the way down that I just loved!! He was also the photographer and videographer. I got the video and picture package which was a cool addition to the experience. It's like your own personal highlight reel. I do recommend and I would jump again!!! ***Corporate pls add some type of wipes(sanitation) to the gear station. Preface: This was my first time, and I have a fear of heights. I had an absolute blast here. This quest was organized by a friend to commemorate National Airborne Day. We arrived in a group of ten. I was impressed with the facility. It was professional, and immediately put me at ease while filling out the paperwork. I'm not sure what I expected. I figured I would get more nervous the longer I waited, but the exact opposite happened. While waiting or turn we got to watch a few planes take off and discharge their passengers. It was fun and exciting watching them make their descents and landings. My instructor was Don. He was fantastic. Fun. Funny. Professional. He explained things well and was quick with a witty comment or pun. Excellent. I felt very comfortable with him from the get go. He was superb. I purchased the video/picture packet which I strongly suggest especially if this is your first time. Don did a great job asking me questions to include in the video. The video is well done, and there were lots of great pictures. Note: I deliberately selected pictures to accentuate the view and NOT the folks in them. Don't worry. Experience with the instructor was fantastic My major disappointment was I bought my daughter and I a video and photo package each to document our experience. She recieved hers but I did not. I have called several times during business hours and no one picks up and one is not able to leave a voicemail message I have also sent messages through the website (contact us) since May 11. 2025 And nothing. So disappointed that the professional approach to this matter has been ignored. Can anyone assist? This was a once in a lifetime experience on my bucket list and paid for in full but not provided. This place was amazing. The staff are super friendly and kind. I appreciated how professional my instructor was with explaining everything. I purchased the video for $99. I think it's worth it because if it's you're first time like me you want to have that memory forever. I went skydiving with my brother in law and he warned me to wear chapstick. Lol and of course I forgot. During your long but short drop in the air your lips will get chapped at 120mph. If your looking to experience something outside this world, this is it! I want to say right off the bat that some of the folks leaving negative reviews don't know about variable weather conditions and aviation (and that's fine! - but don't leave a negative review for something you don't understand). I was scheduled for a 12pm arrival time at the facility. I arrived around 15-20 minutes early and was asked to fill out a long waiver in the main lobby area. They weighed me and then sent me to go to the picnic tables outside to wait. While I waited - I spoke to one of the instructors. He talked to me about how wind conditions and weather can change pretty quickly to cause the jumps to be canceled. Let me ask all of you - would you rather jump with 100% safety or would you rather be allowed to jump in less than stellar conditions? You are warned up front to be prepared to spend up to 4 hours at the facility. Stop complaining. My instructor was Chris - and he was OUTSTANDING. The safety briefing and tutorial is pretty short, but you don't need much instruction for a tandem skydive. The instructor will do essentially everything for you. Just don't accidentally hit them, and enjoy! The jump itself was incredible. The views of the Chesapeake area were so cool to see from way up. The parachute deployment is a bit jarring - even if you are expecting it...so prepare yourself. The entire way down, Chris was checking in on me to ensure I was doing alright and then got me ready for the landing. I was lucky enough to be on the first plane load of people jumping - so I was driving out of the parking lot by 1:30 or 1:45 - and that's even with hanging around to watch the next group come down to the ground. Be sure to leave your instructor a tip upon landing. Would strongly recommend the video and/or picture package. You'll want something to show your friends and family. Also - as a side note - the front desk staff were friendly and there were no issues. I legitimately believe some of the negative reviews are from impatient people who don't read the FAQs. This was my first skydiving experience (it certainly will not be the last). Skydive Baltimore was really fantastic. I like the general vibe of the whole staff. It was clear that they were very attentive to the equipment and safety measures. That being said, we wasted no time! My appointment was at 3 and we were back by 330 (caution: they did tell me that they get backed up on busy days and weekends). The experience was great! I must admit that when I arrived there seemed to be quite a crowd, but the time passed quickly. Staff was AWESOME! From the time I arrived until the time I actually went diving staff was informative and reassuring. Skydiving is definitely an experience that helps determine what you are made of. When you take a leap and jump out of the plane you are truly living life on a whole new level. My diver was JT, he was the best!!! When I asked how long he had been diving he assured me that he had been diving for almost 20 years. When we were in the plane, he pointed out various scenes and explained to me the entire process. He did his best to ensure I was relaxed. The moment we left the plane and began to soar through the air, was pure bliss. Skydiving is not for the faint at heart they say. Well, I walked away saying skydiving is not for those not willing to take a chance. The jump was beautiful and the scenery was great! To sum up the experience here....... surreal. Im not sure why this place has so many bad reviews! Maybe I got lucky and had an AWESOME experience or maybe others were unlucky.. I arrived a little early and got to sit and watch some other people land which was actually pretty cool! The sign in experience was painless then we were assigned our tandem partners.. I got the AWESOME Sean! If you ever get a chance to request someone, everyone should request him! He was super thorough with getting me into my harness and explaining the process to me.. He was also awesome (i will use that word a lot) keeping me calm during the process.. Once we started he got some great pictures and some great video (ive seriously watched the video 100 times).. he made sure I enjoyed the moment as well as captured it. He pointed out the sights we were seeing and made sure i took a moment to take it all in. The whole thing was seriously a once in a lifetime moment and I'm glad i chose skydive Baltimore to do it at! The only reason i deducted a star was post jump it seemed to take forever to get our videos and pictures.. it may have been because everyone in our group got a video and they had to do some editing but it took almost an hour of just sitting around.. I've previously jumped with this company. But on the 2nd time, they showed extremely poor customer service. I was scheduled for the 9AM jump group, but didn't end up jumping at all. My jump group was left sitting outside with no update at all. I drove an hour out of the way for this experience. You cannot get back your time. And my time was wasted on this particular day. It was still cloudy on the day that I jumped. But, the company didn't even notify jumpers that there was a delay. Or if we would still get the chance to even jump that day. When I walked inside to ask what was taking so long, the receptionist was very rude. I simply told the receptionist that it's a common courtesy to let customers know when there is a delay. She responded by saying, "Well, we're still within our allowed time. It can 2-4 hours." She completely missed the point of understanding the customer. I also think race played a role on this. Most of my jump group were people of color. If the jump group was majority white, I believe we would've been shown a better experience, as well as customer service. read more

SEan was my partner and he was wonderful!! Kept me abreast of everything and even asked questions to get to know me!! Fast forward to jump time!! Our appointment was at 2. It's 5:10 as I sit in my car typing this. Not only did they tell us we can't jump after being here since 2pm, they aren't giving refunds, even though I live OUT OF STATE. They said it was weather issues but no weather issues. The wind has been the same all day since we have been here. They don't care. No compassion. Not even apologizing for the wasted time and money. I had a great experience a couple of weekends ago here and I had a great instructor. I was a little worried at first because I didn't receive my training on the ground as I saw others had but I did receive it in the air. My jump almost didn't happened because of clouds and wind. I was signed up for the 10 am spot but didn't actually jump until after 3:30. Definitely bring things to do and/or people with you. Food is also a plus because it's up in the air how long you'll actually be there. I do think the video and pic option are a bit pricey but hey, they're taking advantage of the fact that no one will believe you actually jumped out of a plane unless you have proof. Talk about a rush! Had an amazing time, oh my god, nothing can compare to how it felt just falling out of the sky. Here are a few categories to summarize this place. Safety - 4.5/5 I felt completely safe the entire time. I was hooked up nice a tight and told specific directions on what to do. The safety briefing was very very brief, and I wish it was a bit longer, but each instructor varies. My harness was clean and working well. At the end of the parachute glide, I was set down very gently. Thanks Kai! Facilities - 2/5 Skydive Baltimore is just for skydiving. There were no indoor bathrooms, just port-a-johns. While they were clean, some were missing TP even at opening time. The waiting area outside could use some more cover to help block the wind, but there was plenty of seating. No food, drinks, or heaters/fans. Waiting - 4.5/5 We arrived at 0900 for our 1000 time and filled out all the paper work by 0930. We were in the air at about 1015. Nothing like the 4-5 hours I heard in other reviews! Video/Pictures - 5/5 I received stunning a stunning video and lots of pictures from my jump. Lovely editing and great shots. Atmosphere (Personnel) - 2/5 Kai, my jump instructor was nice and friendly to me, but not very engaging. I understand this is a serious event and that it isn't a joke, but I could have really benefitted from a happy smile. Kai gets a 4.75/5 from me. But, when I entered the building, I felt like I was in a frat house. The instructors (not all of them***) were cursing and belching very loudly. Yes, everyone is adults here, so the cursing is understandable, but the unprofessionalism bothered me a bit. Registration was fast and the ladies were kind. Loved my jumper Sean!!! He's the ONLY reason for the 4 stars. It's a bit overpriced and I don't like the fact that you're obligated to pay for the pictures BEFORE you jump. Other places, the team takes the camera regardless and you decide if you want to pay in the end. I was told by the girl at the register that the divers won't go up with a camera unless you pay they ended up getting over $200 from me. If you go, use groupon. No fluff or glitter but loved the casual vibe of Sky Dive Baltimore. We thought we would be there for a few hours but the entire process took a little less than 60 minutes...and that included waiting for the DVD. My son jumped, I watched. The place was in the middle of no where (understandably) and my diver (can't remember his name) was a cool guy. He helped my experience be comfortable (as it could be) and fun. Located on Harford County in a safe location. Your spectators will see you take off and land which is very cool. Be prepared to wait outdoors. Make sure your phone or camera is charged for video and pics of take off and landing of the person jumping. There picture package starts at $100... ridiculous. The instructors are knowledgeable, plane is a basic retired type of old plane. Parachutes vary in color. There are no helmets or jumpsuits. Experience of jumping is worth it! We went today and it was the first time jumping for all 5 of us. We were originally scheduled for two weeks ago but got cancelled due to the winds and cloud cover. We were disappointed but rather everyone be safe. Fortunately today was the absolute perfect day. The jump was amazing!! The views were gorgeous. Our arrival time was 11am and we were back on the ground by 11:50. Chris was my instructor and he was awesome! He kept checking in on me to make sure I was doing okay and made me feel at ease. I highly recommend purchasing the photo and video package. We each had the link in our emails within 2.5 hours and I have so many good photos to look back on. I saw a lot of negative reviews about the staff and I just want to say that all of the employees we encountered were super friendly - the receptionist was very nice and all of our instructors were great! I was too eager buying Groupons, for something to do for my birthday and ended up 3 coupons to skydive. I couldn't find a reliable soul to go, so I ended up going solo, in June. At 51, it was THE thrill of my life, bar none! It was scary but Ben was waaaaaay tooooooooo cute and charming and made me feel comfortable. I had a great experience, even though I had no one to share it with in real time. My 2nd jump, I was prepared and was a pro, pretending not to be scared, etc. Nah, I was really not scared. I convinced a friend, who had never thought of skydiving to go with me. While, not the thrill as my first time, it was great. Don, my instructor was friendly and calming. I gave them 4 stars (there is no half star) only because on my 2nd jump, my friend Megan paid for a photo/video package. She had a rather shaky but very memorable jump, and after we got the video, we saw the most important parts were missing, so we asked to get the raw video and it turned out, the person doing the editing, deleted the footage, in less than 1/2 hr! Seriously, we paid $121 for something and they couldn't wait 24 hrs to delete it? Disappointed isn't strong enough, to state how we felt. Got rescheduled twice which was fine (due to weather) but because we had to deal with the receptionist twice it took away from it a tiny bit. She was rude, didn't add the extra charge for the weight correctly and almost charged us extra because she didn't switch the discounted price over from when i first made the reservation. I had to catch it and correct it. Other than her everything was great. I had chris and my husband had JD. Both he and I felt completely safe with our instructors. Directions were clear and the jump itself was amazing. Didn't expect to love it so much. The quick initial jump from the plane didnt allow for my nerves to build up so that was great. The landing was also unexpected. Thought it would hurt more but it was soft and secure. Would definitely do it again. read more

We waited 2 hours the first 2 jumps and over 3 hours this last time. And they act irritated when you ask them "do you know how much longer?" Unacceptable. My jumper was Arnie and he was the epitome of unprofessional... granted he kept me alive so I am thankful for him. However, I definitely feel like he touched me more than he needed to on the way down and he asked for my phone number while he was strapped to my back and getting ready to land. I was a little uncomfortable to say the least. We got a groupon for this. Reserving my slot was easy, checking in was ok. I was a little disappointed that they could not take some of my friends who didn't make a reservation but hey, they weren't prepared like we were. My friend ordered the video during her jump and we waited for it but it never showed up. They forgot to record her. She was really upset. Excellent experience today at Skydive Baltimore. Made the reservation online on Thursday, no issues. Showed up at the appointed time today to a no-frills but very clean and organized facility. Everyone working there was very kind and it was easy to understand what was expected of you. It is very clear on the website and on the confirmation email that you should expect to be at the airport for 2-4 hours. So yes, we arrived at 11am and didn't actually enter the airplane until 1pm, but I was fully expecting that. Could they move people in and out a little faster? Maybe. Do I want them to with the potential of adding any risk to the experience? Absolutely not. I'll take the time sitting around. My jumping instructor Chris was wonderful. Very good at calming any nerves and just an all around nice guy. The jump itself was very smooth and I never felt unsafe at any point. Views were awesome!! 5 stars all around. I jumped here yesterday. It was the third drop zone Ive been to, and the third place Ive jumped, and i really really didnt like it here. 1. it was tiny. there were 2 tandem instructors and an office manager/packer. when you dont see a single other person at a skydiving place, it makes you nervous off the bat. 2. the planes were old, small and seemed kinda broken. They rattled around in the air and i got kinda sea sick while riding to the top. I jumped with JD and he was kind of rude. I asked if a friend and i were jumping at the same time (he was harnessing us up together) and he responded with "How would i jump with two people at the same time?!" Ummmm... OK. or a simple "no" would have been a lot better than being rude. Cool. thanks 3. He didnt explain the process of jumping very well at all. In fact, until he told me IN THE AIRPLANE when he was attaching me how we were going to jump. Up until then i had no clue what was happening. And then had the balls to ask me for a tip? UMMM thanks but I dont tip rude people. its your job to keep me safe. You did your job. I paid you for your job. Skydive baltimore you have competitors, and I'll be damned if I ever recommend someone jumping here. I gave you two stars for honoring my appointment time, and for keeping me alive. read more

I spent $300 & never got to jump! This business let me senselessly lose all my money. I purchased two vouchers to jump & made reservations to use both vouchers on 2 different occasions, both of which times we were turned away due to wind and clouds. Then, they expired. When I asked if the expiration date could be extended, I was told that I would have 30 days to use the voucher IF I paid full price. I had surgery on Nov. 3 & it was not possible for me to skydive over the next 30 days. I don't understand why the expiration date couldn't be extended for no added cost. First, we made efforts to skydive before the deadline. We did what was required of us. Second, I took 2 days off of work & drove all the way from DC to north of Baltimore & back using money on gas, only to be turned away. I have invested enough money into this already. I lost all that money (plus the gas money & time off work). It would cost them nothing to extend the deadline. Instead, they wanted me to give them more money & jump after surgery. When I called/emailed again asking for an extension of the deadline, NO ONE even responded to me!!! I hope no one ever patronizes that place. They were rude & it looked like a dump. read more

I've always wanted to skydive. Isn't that on many people's bucket list? So when a Groupon skydiving deal arrived on my inbox, I messaged as many friends as I could asking one question: Are you game? Most of my friends chickened out, but 3 people confirmed and the 4 of us scheduled a dive. The first dive was cancelled due to strong winds. No problem. We rescheduled to two weeks later. Perfect weather! By this time, we had a 5th person sign up, too. Scheduling wasn't a huge headache. We waited for our turn. Three of my friends were lucky getting the other instructors as they seemed friendlier and more approachable. My other friend and I were the unlucky ones. We had JD and man, was he grumpy. From the start, he just had this negative air around him -- and all of us hoped we wouldn't get him. There's just a lot of bad things to say about an establishment that does not remind its staff to be nice to paying customers. Particularly if what you're selling is as high risk as skydiving. Um, you would think that instructors would be a little less "bah I don't want to be here, humbug, I hate everything" air around them. Keep in mind this was my very first skydive and I was nervous as heck and it took me years to gather up the courage to go. I thought this was a feat in itself but that was almost dashed by this grumpy instructor. The jump went as I expected. Terrifying. But I made it. My knees were like jelly and I was still so terrified upon descent that I think my knees buckled and the landing wasn't perfect. In fact, I face planted, with grumpy on my back. I get it. He was pissed he didn't get his perfect landing. He unstrapped my gear with such horrible attitude that I just wanted to leave right there and then. Sure, it was my fault we faceplanted. I get it that you have more jumps to do that day and you probably would prefer to be elsewhere. Maybe that's it. You should be elsewhere and not ruining people's first skydive with your negativity. I would recommend Baltimore Skydive but only if customers do not get this guy. I talked to Stephanie about JD and all she said was he must be stressed out. So that makes it OK to take it out on customers? Somewhere out there is an employee handbook. It'll be good to read it again. Hello heart attack. Nope, I didn't jump. Considering cardiac arrest is a real possibility for me on certain escalators, a sky dive just won't happen. How did I end up here? My Alaskan boyfriend is a crazy thrill seeker. He also has a large rear end that I'm sure will protect him upon landing. All kidding aside, we found this deal on Groupon for his birthday. About an hour drive and 2 panic attacks later, we were there. Once there, the staff was very friendly, if not a bit over the top cheesy, but in a fun way. The checkin and the preparation process was very quick and easy. There were about 5 people before him so the wait was about an hour after that. The plane he boarded was tiny and old, but looked safe. His main complaint was after they jump, the free fall is incredibly short before the parachute opens. In that case it's less a sky dive and more a parachute ride. For him, the thrill just wasn't there due to this. We purchased the photo and video package, which was pretty expensive (somewhere over $80). Honestly, we liked the photos and video my iPhone captured just as much if not more. Sure I didn't get his close up facial expressions on the jump, but they weren't all that interesting and that DVD (they mail a few weeks later) pretty much collects dust now. read more

Update 6/3/2013 I was just called and cursed out by the manager of Skydive Baltimore for posting a negative review on Yelp. I hung up midway through the rant only to be called back again and left voicemails for. The rudeness of these people knows no bounds. read more

Great jump. However, we had two issues: If you have any issues with their systems or processes they are downright rude to you. A response from my issue with them charging us extra "Sure. Sleazy, it's clearly out lined on the site, you were to lazy to read the fine print. Your sleazy, not use". They didn't post the extra weight fee for tall guys over 200lbs consistently across their site so we totally missed it. It was posted on the tandem page but we went to the scheduling page so we had no idea. Then the instructor assigned to the female in our party made several inappropriate comments and groped her in a way to make her feel extremely uncomfortable. We won't be back. read more

I have not actually had an opportunity to skydive with the company. My one star rating is because I purchased a gift certificate for my best friend who has been wanting to skydive for awhile. The plan was to surprise him for his birthday and we go together. A year later, after numerous requests and correspondence I still have not received the certificate or a refund. I have filed a complaint with the BBB who also stated they were non responsive so I have now escalated my complaint to the states attorney office today. I understand this may be a small, family run business. I respect and often patron these types of businesses. I actually prefer them, but being ignored after having my money processed is a BIG problem!! read more
