Amazing skydiving experience! The location is only 1 - 1.5 hours north of Toronto. The website contains a wealth of information, and the online booking system is quite seamless and convenient. You only need to put a small deposit down when booking to reserve your timeslot. All the staff (from the front desk, resgitration office, and the staff helping you to put on and take off the body suit, to the instructors and videographers) are excellent - very skilled, friendly, and helpful. In terms of facilities, there are washrooms (which are very clean) including 1 shower stall. There are no lockers for public use (the lockers are for staff only), so put your belongings in your car or have someone (who is not skydiving at the same time as you) look after your belongings. There is a small box for car keys and valuables in the office area. There is 1 vending machine for snacks (chips, etc.) so bring snacks from home if you want to snack while waiting. When you get there, the process for tandem skydiving is as follows: 1) Sign in at the front desk. The staff will give you a booklet / package of forms to read and fill out. 2) Sit at a table and watch the training video on the tablet. (Be sure to bring a pair of headphones that are not Apple headphones, to plug into the audio jack of the tablet.) The video is about 25 minutes long, and goes over the legal stuff, risks, safety precautions, and procedures (e.g. what to do before and during the skydive, body position, how to do proper landing, etc.). 3) Fill out the package of forms. There is a 1-page quiz to gauge your knowledge from the training video. 4) Hand in the completed package to the staff in the registration office. They'll check everything, check your photo ID, measure your weight (for weight distribution in the airplane and aircraft assignment), and give you your wrist band. If you purchase a media package, you will also get a landyard that you'll need to give to the videographer after (for them to scan the QR code so they can associate the photos & video files to your email address). 5) Wait about 1-2 hours until you get called to suit up. You can wait inside or outside on the grassy area, but stay close to the building so you can hear for your name to get called. It might seem like a long time at first, but time goes by quickly, especially if the weather is good outside and you watch the other people glide down with their parachutes. 6) Once you get called or your name appears on the screen with the aircraft assignment, get a staff member to help you suit up with the body suit, helmet, and goggles. 7) Your instructor will meet you, tighten your body suit, and go over procedures. 8) Get on the airplane. It's about a 20-minute ride until you jump. 9) If you choose tandem skydive, it's about 40-50 seconds of freefall followed by approximately 5 minutes of hovering with the parachute, while you enjoy the panaromic views below. Been wanting to do this for the longest time, but finally pulled the trigger. Booking was made easy over the phone. The day I originally booked for a week in advance was projecting to have rain, so I rescheduled for an earlier date without any problems. I did not drive to this location but took the GO Bus and they were extremely accommodating as they offered to pick me up from one of the Go Bus stops. Arrived at the facility to fill out some waivers and was instructed to watch a video for 30mins. Video was very thorough with the safety and expectations. I felt completely safe after watching the video. Was paired up with an instructor for the tandem jump and right into getting suited up. The plane we went up on was a small plane. It barely had enough room for 4+the pilot. The pilot gave a great tour with spectacular view of what we were going to jump into. The free fall was one hell of an experience and the parachute portion was tranquil. Overall a great once in a life time experience just to cross it out of my bucket list. I've been wanting to skydive for a while and would 100% recommend these guys if you want to do it. The instructors were extremely kind and fun. The experience can be scary for some people but they create a very vibrant and energetic atmosphere where you forget the fact that you're jumping from 12K ft. Special shout out to my instructor Danny Sky for an amazing jump and Splash for taking some killer videos + photos. I will definitely be going here again! Had my first ever skydiving experience this weekend and it was absolutely amazing! We didn't have the best weather and I drove 6 hours to part take in this and I was nervous that we were going to have to reschedule due to the thunderstorm warnings and clouds. Luckily they allowed my friend and I to wait it out and the sky cleared enough to give us the perfect jump. All of the staff were very friendly, welcoming, and enthusiastic. I wish I could remember my tandem instructors name to give him a shout out cause he was awesome! I'd also like to shout out J-Roc which was my photographer; you guys made this an amazing first experience, Thank you so much! THE MOST FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE EVER. So glad we chose this spot. We booked ahead of time and unfortunately on the date of our reservation it was too windy to jump! so we ended up rescheduling for the following day... Loved the employees, everyone was very patient working with novice jumpers, their spirits were fun and exciting. You always need a little comedic relief to ease the tension. It took way longer than I expected though, so plan to carve out a whole day, but it was fun regardless and I'll definitely go back for more! read more

Having only jumped out of a plane once, it's hard to properly assess the services of Skydive Toronto as compared with other options. So here's what I liked and didn't like about it. My friends and I did tandem jumps, and I was so glad that the instructors were energetic, fun, and conscientious people that really made you feel at at ease about the stupid thing you have decided to do. Never once did I feel unsafe or worried that I was entrusting my life in the wrong hands. The instructors kept us informed and made cute jokes like, "this equipment almost never fails us." What I didn't like, and this is a big negative, were the HOURS we spent waiting around doing nothing. We had an 11:00 appointment, but had to wait hours before we could get fitted for equipment and matched with instructors. And after the jump, we had to wait well over an hour for them to burn a DVD of the experience. They were apparently quite busy that day but it seemed that our appointment time meant nothing. We got in at 11:00am and left around 4:00pm. That said, the jump was fantastic and the experience was truly unforgettable. I would highly recommend this place for a first timer. (But I can't say I'll be rushing to jump out of a plane again anytime soon.) Obligatory Title Pun: No one KNOWS DIVES like them. Menu Readability: You have options: solo jumps, tandem, tandem with an extra 2000 ft, extra chocolate, whatever you want. There are a lot of services. Very professional instructors, clean facility and really friendly navigator. They really want you to land safely (doh) and won't let you know get on the plane without memorizing the proper drill. Kick the twist! The facility can get packed during weekends especially if there's a big group (been here with a big group once) so try to book ahead or you'll end up waiting for two hours. They offer first jump lessons for $250, I think including a 4000-feet jump. Sweet talk the pilot and he may gay higher. They give you sort of a passport to record your jump status. This is probably where I'll get my jump instructor certificate unless I find somewhere closer. What I like about this is it's a huuuge field so you won't get nervous being entangled on some electric wire. Don't try skydiving in downtown Toronto - you won't make it to the ground! I organized a group of friends for our very first tandem jump experience. It was easy to reserve a time and date. We were even able to get a group discount. The staff were courtesy and friendly. In the hangar, the process of packing the individual parachutes were out in the open. You could see every chute being checked multiple times before it was assigned to an instructor. Safety is key in every step of the skydiving process. Their instructors have some serious experience; mine had over 35+ years of skydiving experience. I would definitely recommend getting your own videographer; I have been able to share my first jump experience with family and friends over and over again. :P Make sure you make a day of the experience as there may be delays with large groups. I think it's only fitting that I lose my Yelp-virginity by writing a review for Skydive Toronto; surely all reviews to follow will be for things less epic (unless I go skydiving again! Who's in?!) Skydive Toronto (you may also see it referred to as "STI") was recommended to me by a co-worker that jumps regularly, and I was impressed right off the bat as they confirmed I could reserve tandem jumps for me and five other friends for a bachelor party. I've heard that other smaller facilities don't have planes large enough to accomodate such a large group at one time. As mentioned by Yelp-hunk Vivek S., our reservation time was pretty poorly observed. I'm willing to cut Skydive Toronto some slack as it was a long weekend during the summer. At least, they had a great cafe with some excellent BBQ. The dive itself is pretty hard to describe in words, but I will tout that our instructors were professional and knowledgeable, and in a large way helped to soothe many nerves. This was the first time for many of us, but the quality of service at Skydive Toronto helped to ensure that we could enjoy the experience TO THE EXTREME (Point Break, anyone?) Also, the hangar and facility itself was clean, orderly, and had a great vibe. One issue however was the post-jump waiting. As we paid for a videographer for the groom-to-be, it naturally takes the facility some time to splice together the footage, and add some tunes (of your choosing, btw, so plan ahead). Unfortunately, there were at least six people ahead of us also waiting on videos, and we paid for this backlog with our time. Especially having just jumped out of a plane, waiting around in the hangar was not the denouement I would've hoped for. While I might go Skydiving again but not here. The organization and communication is really bad. No matter what time you book you have to sit around and wait for 4-5 hours. It's a systematic issue and everyone here told me they had waited same amount of time. So it seems it's on on-going issue and instead of trying to fix it they have adopted it as a norm. Oh and no one can tell you when you arrive to register how long it might be. Definitely took ALL the fun out of it. And turned it tiring exhausting and fatiguing. read more

Skydive Toronto is located in the north of Toronto close to hwy400. Joe Chow owns this place he is very experienced skydiver who has thousands of jumps. The place is located on the 100 acres of grass field , it has one hangar and a couple of caravans, small hot dog place and picnic tables. You need to book an appointment if you want to skydive, sometimes if there are not a lot of people they can fit you in their schedule but I would not bet on it. I received my jump as a present for my birthday . When I arrived to the place there were lots of other people preparing for jumps. The hangar was divided into two sections, the right side had equipment and waiting area and the left side had been set for parachute folding and you could watch how the trained staff fold each parachute before every jump. I signed a waiver form and watched training video, after that an instructor went over safety procedures with me. Finally I met Debby she was my tandem instructor. . Yes, Vivek is right that you need to wait quite a lot before you get your jump but it is only to ensure the conditions are perfect. Debby was very professional and untrustworthy, she smiled all the time and I felt right at home. The jump itself went very smoothly, it is a feeling than I can't describe, you need to try it to understand, when the parachute opens you can ask to get control and do roller coaster for those who don't get scared easily. The camera guy films you exiting the plane and free falling, then he gets down quickly to film you land. I think Skydive Toronto is a very nice and safe place to jump, nice staff and the instructors are very professional, they use top safety equipment (Sigma). My jump was free but you should expect to pay $299 + $100 for the camera guy. Can't wait to do it again. We should organize a Yelp event sometime. P.S. I did the tandem skydive package. You spend a half day learning and mentally getting ready. In the afternoon, you suit up and ascend in a small plane with the crew and instructors. When the plane reach its altitude, the door flips open, your instructor waddles with you to the opening and you just tilt a little, and you're in the air! It's an incredible experience and the view of the earth is spectacular! They video tape you during the entire event. Lots of great memories! Not scary at all! read more

I would recommend Skydive Toronto if you are planning on a tandem dive. The instructors are professional, fun, and safe. The tandem students are the focus - as they're the cash cow. A quick note, I don't believe their planes are dropping off at 13,000 feet as advertised, as I was let out around 8.5k. Anything else and I wouldn't bother, as you'll be waiting forever for your jump (be a first time static line, etc). It was one Awesome experience :) I went alone and was nervous and a whole load scared.. Skydiving was one of the things on the bucket list so to speak... And when you watch the video and sign the disclaimer, all that you are thinking is.."Why am i doing this?" But the instructors and the staff at SkyDiving Toronto were energetic and really pep you up... The place is accessible by GoTransit and they come and pick you up from the Go bus stop when you call them... The video and the pics too were great.. Fabulous experience! I went with instructor Debbie who is very sweet and caring. It was her 3001st dive and I am so proud that I was part of it! :) The staffs are so friendly and you can get all your doubts clarified from anyone there. The photographers are also cool and friendly. The waiting time was too long and there is no shops (Tim Hortons/Starbucks..) nearby which made us tired. So it is better to grab something or better to ride to nearby shop when you know you have to wait a bit. read more

Be warned: Most of the other reviews here are from tandem jumpers. They are giving good ratings because they treat tandems like royalty and everyone else like crap. I am a student skydiver with 3 jumps (all at Skydive Toronto) and even I know this is a terrible place to go. Students are there lowest priority. All 3 times I jumped (3 separate days) I arrived in the morning at 9-10am and had giving them warning days in advance saying I'd be coming. Despite this I still did not get in the air until 2-3pm on every one of these days. They are always packed with people doing tandems and they put ALL of their instructors on the tandems. The only time they use instructors for students is when there are no tandems to go. This is normally near the end of the day. Not only this but even doing a mere thing like waiting in line to buy a lift ticket took me almost an hour of waiting. Not even exaggerating this. I arrived at a little before 10am and it was almost 11am before I even go to the counter to pay for a ticket. I was then told I had to come back in check with them in an hour and only at that point would they try to find an instructor. Despite being told over the phone numerous times prior to visits to come in the morning and them even saying they left a note saying I was coming, they still did not care to serve me. I understand waiting your turn to go up in the plane, but this is not the case here. They are just scheduling tandems all day and won't let students schedule. Students have to work around tandems. This doesn't even get to the money part. You are going to be paying more here than a lot of places. While their site may not look like it is a lot, don't be fooled. You are very likely to be told that you have to redo a jump meaning you have to pay full price again for the jump. Their GFP program is very dumb. You have to do a lot of static line jumps to start with. Again, good luck with this. You'll be waiting most of the day. They usually only have one pilot and of course that pilot is flying the larger plane up to 12500 and does not do the 4500 static line jumps. You have to wait for the pilot to switch over to the smaller cessna plane. Again, you'll have to wait till the tandems die down for this. I suggest going somewhere else. Most places cost about the same, if not cheaper and will likely care more about you than this place. Even when I talked to the owner I didn't get treated any better until I said I wanted a refund. Only after saying that would he try to help me out and find me an instructor. It is all about money there. Save your time and money and go to a better place. Somewhere that has a nice community and wants to actually see students get certified. read more

I would never recommend it again. After they took me in the air while it was raining, they dropped my friends in high winds. First I didn't know it could be prevented, but after their experience it was kinda clear this shouldn't happen. The hangar looks good and it's big. Stuff people have no area to take the break. I am a novice jumper, I went to toronto skydive to do a jump and brought 3 people with me who were absolutely pumped to do their first ever tandem. Though all 3 had an amazing experience, I have some serious problems with the way certain members of the staff conducted themselves. One of the 3 people with me was a sweet 57 year old woman from newfoundland. She has never done anything like this before and was beyond exited. We were standing outside watching people land while waiting , and there were 2 men talking beside us. One whose name I don't know but I will call grey bush was telling the guy with him all the horror stories about tandem instructors breaking their legs with an abnoxiosley loud volume. At that point my friend being obviously nervous said "thanks". This ass looks over and says "well its part of the sport" with a smug arrogant look on his face. Then as we were all getting ready to go, the man who I'll call rat tail had my 57 year old friend. He barely talked to her at all And on the plane instead of making her feel safe he straight up fell asleep. Wow, good job bro. Even in the air he still was as stale as a 20 year old cracker And barley said a word on the way down, and upon landing quikley skurried off to his rat lair. Thankfully my friend has a very big heart, and had a good time anyhow. All the rest of the staff were absolutely great, but sadly these 2 made me write this message out of pure rage now that I've heard all of this a couple days later. So if you go there, avoid grey bush and rat tail like the plague, but still go because the rest of the staff are great. Rant ends. read more

I did my first skydive in September and I could not be happier! Everyone at Skydive Toronto is amazing. Some people were complaining about wait times but I don't think they understand that the company can't just throw you out of a plane with no preparation and no training .. They also don't realize skydiving is weather dependent. I don't know about you but I wouldn't want to jump in the rain and hit the rain at 120 mph. Everyone is so knowledgeable and they make sure all safety procedures are fallowed no ifs ands or buts. I would recommend EVERYONE try skydiving at least once and if you are crazy like so many people are to jump then go to SKYDIVE TORONTO!! read more

5 of us were booked for a jump in early April. Although the weather forecast was poor (rainy and windy), the folks at Skydive Toronto encouraged us to come as "the weather can change at any time". We made our way to Cookstown for 10 a.m. on the Sunday. We waited 4 hours, only to leave without jumping. During the 4 hour wait, we were told again that the weather could change. Looking back, we should've cancelled before we went there and saved time, but we listened to the Skydive Toronto staff. They re-scheduled us for June. Our day came and although it was hazy, we saw parachutes floating down as we drove in. We were efficiently signed in, watched the video and proceeded to get trained and geared up. The instructors were friendly and knowledgeable. I must say that the plane (Cessna) we went up in was old, with lots of duct tape on the inside. I can see how this can be of concern to some. While we were ascending, another instructor told us how one of their newer planes crashed a month before. I thought this was not the best thing to say, as that could send someone into panic. My instructor was very nice, and calm but the person who made the real difference for me was the videographer, Alex. He pumped me up before the jump and really made me feel at ease. All in all, it was an amazing and unforgettable experience. I would recommend Skydive Toronto, but I think I'll try the Parachute School of Toronto next time. read more

This was my mothers and brothers first time experience. The date was on my mothers 67 birthday, so you would gave expected our excitement to be high. Oddly, the staff at Skydive Toronto could have cared less. They were welcomed with as much enthusiasm as a teller at a grocery store on a long weekend, and we were the only customers that day. After the 30 minute out-dated video in an un-airconditioned room with no staff present at any time, and signing the forms, the front desk women asked for the money which neared $1000.00. She left and came back saying the clouds were too low and we couldn't jump. We were given vouchers to come back another day, however due to the birthday, we opted to wait for a break in the sky. After an hour or more, we happily decided to go for lunch as we hadn't even been offered water on the hottest day this year. We informed the front desk person and said we'd be close so to call us if they saw a break we could be back in five minutes. Luckily, the clouds did break during lunch, no wind (they checked), so we raced back after trying to call with no answer. On arriving, the hanger was empty except for the front desk girl. She informed us that the pilot went for a swim and the filmographer and other staff just went for lunch. It was 2:30. When I asked for them to call the pilot she replied that he didn't have a phone. Um... We waited until 3:30, when the clouds started to roll in again (not a lot, but enough for them to possibly say it's off), asked for our money back and left. On a positive note, it's good to see a company doing so well as we come out of a recession. So far we've heard no apologies, as it's a shame we wasted my mom's birthday with a group of people who while you'd think would cater to this awesome experience, could care less. Not to mention we all took time off from our work to witness this marvelous event. Poor business practices, horrible staff, especially the lying front desk girl, and generally a total waste of time.
