Very quick to respond to an estimate request but came in double of most other companies.

Went with Skyguard to replace my roof on a new house. I've never been more frustrated with a company's communication ever, and I do not say that lightly. Refusal to call me back when I asked and did nothing to keep me updated on the schedule, timing, anything. They updated me only when I called repeatedly. There were also problems during the actual replacement. Workers were careless and damaged some of my property. They left several pieces of siding off of my house, one hanging off the side. They left garbage and materials behind with no intention to correct it until I called about it. I had also left a Google review, which they responded to essentially deny all responsibility and tried to pin all the blame on me. The review is also coincidentally removed so they have a perfect 5 stars again- I'm guessing they disputed my review so they could look good. Terrible communication, zero accountability, and honestly a bit sketchy. Unsure whether some of this was due to the pandemic or if it was just poor management. If you want a company that will admit their faults and actually communicate with you, look elsewhere. Skyguard will only disappoint you. read more

I was extremely pleased with the responsiveness, price and quality of the work I received from this company. Last Sunday I realized I had an 8' split in one of the beams in my garage. I called all of my friends that had used general contractors in the past and got recommendations. I called several companies with good Google reviews. In all, by Sunday afternoon I had left 12 messages. Monday morning I started calling more companies on Yelp and Google. I was impressed when the person at Skyguard answered my call. As requested I sent photos for them to evaluate the job. Later that day they sent a technician who gave me a fair price for the work and was on their schedule to have the work done on Wednesday morning. They explained everything they were doing in detail, wore their masks (even when I told them we would stay in the house so they didn't need to wear the mask) worked nonstop and then cleaned up the worksite. In Sept 2020, we had Skyguard General Contracting in Louisville, KY repair some leaks in our siding. Water was getting behind the siding underneath our 2nd floor windows and dripping down the wall into the 1st floor. Skyguard sent out two great employees who figured out where the leak was coming from and provided a reasonable, fair estimate for the repairs. They were several hundred dollars less than two competitors who also gave us estimates, but their work was professional and appears to have fixed the problem. We've had two heavy rains since then and no leaks! After we got three estimates and decided to go with Skyguard, they were able to do the work within just 3 or 4 days. Where do I start? These guys should re name themselves the Three Stooges Contracting. I got the estimate for re -flashing my roof & replacing the gutters. Then as soon as I gave them the deposit check the price changed three times. The final time was only hours before the work was scheduled to start...which was another 450 bucks. And when I expressed my disappointment at their little last minute bait and switcheroo they suggested things to knock down the price like instead of doing the flashing they could just fill the entire edge of the dormer with caulk. I'm not kidding you. The other suggestion was just to leave the gutters off the back and just do the front. Oh it gets better. The first time they were scheduled to come do the work the little mouth piece for The Stooges dropped off the shingles and sat out in his SUV for 40 minutes. The crew is a no show. Nice huh? Oh the professionalism. So he rescheduled the work for the following week. Then the next week, come roofing time....nothing. Then one lone guy in a truck pulls out front and sits in his truck for 30 minutes. He then comes over and tells me that the head roofer guy with all the supplies was on his way and got pulled over by the cops and that there was a warrant out for his arrest. So they'd have to re schedule AGAIN cuz their main guy was in jail. The Stooges are apparently really particular about who works for them. In all my years of home ownership I've never dealt with a company who operates at such a low level. And do you think anything was done to make any of this shit show more tolerable. Nope nothing. I work in a super busy salon and cut 40 heads home owners hair every day and I can tell you I will NEVER get tired of telling this story. This company is a total epic fail...void of any professionalism or customer skills. If I could give them negative stars I would. If you see them ....run for your life and take your roof with you. read more
