Thursday was our first time visiting the rooftop bar at the Shelby Trio. After visiting a couple of other spots in downtown Clarksville, we decided we decided on a nightcap at the Skyline 500. When we got there around 9pm, there were only 8 other customers there. I love the layout and design of the inside area, with the bar being right as you enter after getting off of the elevator. A security person and one bartender were the only employees there, and they were both quite nice. As a huge fan of outside and rooftop bars, there were 3 things that kept this getting 5 stars. 1 - The alcohol and beer selections were quite limited. I did expect more options from an upscale establishment. 2 - The outdoor area was definitely smaller than I expected. It's not tiny by any means, but I assumed there would be more outside seating to enjoy the great rooftop views. 3 - There is no bar access on the outside rooftop. You have to go back inside, to the opposite side of the bar, to get additional drinks. Perhaps on busier nights, there are servers so you can remain outside. Other than that, I enjoyed my visit and love the Shelby's Trio concept. I'll be back. read more

This is such a great place downtown. The rooftop bar has a nice set up with fire pits and a great view and atmosphere. They do trivia nights and they have food too, which we didn't get this time. If I'm in the area, I'd definitely come back! read more

Went here last night to try the new menu and it was amazing! The pretzel is absolutely MASSIVE!! The nachos are super delicious. The lettuce wraps are a great healthier option. They are very refreshing, and the sauce they come with pull it all together! The ambiance was warm and welcoming. The service, from the bartender Stephanie to the management team was exceptional--attentive, but never intrusive. Our bartender was very knowledgeable on the food menu and drink menu. Will definitely be back to Skyline 500 to eat and get fat off of the delicious food. :) read more

We recently moved to the area and were excited to visit the rooftop restaurant, particularly the outdoor deck. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. We stopped by to enjoy a drink and explore the restaurant for a potential large group gathering, but my husband's temporary paper ID--issued by the Clarksville DMV after his out-of-state license expired--was declined. While we understand the importance of verifying identification, this temporary ID is legally valid for up to 20 days, as stated on the DMV's website. We have used it at multiple establishments in both this city and Nashville without issue. However, the manager insisted that accepting temporary paper IDs was against the law. We hope this feedback reaches the management team so they can ensure staff are properly informed about state ID policies. We would love to return in the future but hope to see a more accurate and customer-friendly approach to ID verification. read more

Under new management, but the menu is weak, and they were out of most beer varieties early Friday night. Ordered boneless wings, which were white meat for some reason and overcooked and dry. Both wings and fries were over seasoned to the point of being inedible. Choked it down so I could listen to Chris Monhollen, but I heard the new "management" has decided to stop inviting him to play. I wonder what this place will be after it goes under in a few months. I'm hoping for another tattoo parlor or bail bond place. read more

Ambiance was a 10/10. Very nice patio and nice indoor area as well. I wish they had more table warmers outside. Went here for my birthday and they only had 1 available. The other didn't seem to be working. The food was really good 8.5/10. My husband had the beef sliders. The drinks were good, about what you would expect. My only complaint was that the main bartender didn't wash her hands the whole time I was observing. She was serving drinks and putting fruit in drinks with her hands, opening straws, serving people their plates, and wiping down the bar and never washed her hands in the hour I sat there. Tried out all 3 floors of Shelby's Trio. Our final stop was the rooftop bar of course and it did not disappoint. It was great sitting out on the patio with the fire going. Had drinks, the shrimp salad tacos and the calamari. The service was good. Very friendly and quick staff. The food was good! Wish the calamari was crispier but overall good taste! I was a bit surprised that they had plastic plates and drink ware. I thought this place was more "upscale", plasticware was a bit off-putting. read more

When "Shelby's trio" first opened we came and it was a garbage experience. Now, years later and under "new management" we decided to give it another try to only be as disappointed as the first time around. The weather is getting nicer so we wanted to go to the rooftop bar, skyline 500. This was about 7pm on a Saturday and there was only a couple people there. When the bartender came to us, she told us she couldn't make the drink we ordered bc "they were out of bourbon" and that it was her first day there. Once we got to order drinks and received them, they were awfully watered down. I had a blood orange margarita and the color was white; that's how diluted it was. We also ordered a corn dip appetizer which came out cold although it was in a skillet. It turns out that 2/3 people standing behind the bar was their "first day" so they mainly just stood there and didn't take care of patrons. 4 drinks and a corn app ended up costing us about $65 and it all sucked. Alaya seemed to be the only original worker and she did nothing to help them but stand there. Worst part is that we came for the outside patio, and as soon as you walk outside all you do is smell sewer. The "new management" is the same family that owns strawberry alley, mailroom, and old glory plus more. They can't even manage the failing restaurants they have yet they take on more. I know an employee of theirs that saw one of the owners out in town and tried to just say hi and they had no idea who they were when they work for him. read more

I guess we got there too late because they were not serving food, we gotta go back when they are serving food also. I heard their food & drinks are both good! The bartender was cool and it was a cool vibe there and not ratchet so we will definitely go back again! Especially now that we can sit on the balcony! The bartender has a superior complex, the place was empty yet he seemed annoyed to make us drinks. The glassware had lipstick marks, when we politely asked to get new glasses before he poured the drinks he rolled his eyes and got a new glass that also had lipstick marks.... If you want this place to survive you gotta get friendly staff.
