After a rousing, fun-filled visit to Uranus Fudge Factory, we asked one of the staff where we could find a good place for lunch. We specified no a chain restaurant, but somewhere local. Her immediate, first answer was BYOB. Full Stop. Build Your Own Burrito? I think this was the easier lunch decision we've ever made. "Waze, navigate me to BYOB". Less than a ten minute drive later and there we were. First thing's first: You can't miss this place. It's painted bright teal and definitely stands out from its surroundings. BYOB isn't a fancy, sit-down, full-service affair. It's a place with probably a dozen tables set about the area. What is 100% unique about BYOB is the ordering method. There's no menu board. There's no tri-fold menu on the table. At BYOB there are holders with 3 different colored pieces of paper. Each one of those has the menu for that particular food item (Tacos, Burritos, or Bowls). There are also golf pencils. You fill out your order on your yellow, pink, or green order slip and present it at the register. I think this is SERIOUSLY cool. We asked the gentleman at the counter what he would recommend (our first visit and all) and he said they're known for their Wet Tacos. Just about anything with the word "taco" is an easy sell for me, so my wife and I got that. No need to peruse the menu slips for this. If the person behind the counter says "It's what we're known for", that's enough for us. Maybe ten minutes later our Wet Tacos arrived...and Holy. Hell. They were awesome. They were amazing. They were incredible. They were unbelievable. (I'm running out of adjectives). They were magnificent. (ok, I'll stop there). But seriously. There's a lot of magic going on there. I've eaten a lot of tacos in my time and these just raised the bar.....HIGH. The staff we encountered (all both of them) were awesome and you could tell they enjoyed working at BYOB. They were also quick to clear tables after visitors left, making sure the place was kept clean. I'm pretty bummed that this place is so far away from home and that we can't visit on a whim (it's about 2 1/2 from Louisville) so we'll have to settle with infrequent stops when traveling up I-69. Regardless, BYOB is a place I would, 100%, visit with amazing frequency if I was able. OH...and the restroom doors are cutely decorated. read more

Was excited to try BYOB. Came in for dinner, it was dark and looked like the kitchen was not prepped. Music was blaring (Note don't mind music but it was too much) Ordered the food, burrito and chips/dip. Took over 25 mins to get the food and it was cold. My job called me from the east side of Indy to work at Anderson hospital for a few days. By Friday I was done with the cafeteria food and ready to try something new and exciting. Three toppings come with the price of the taco and then $.25 is charge for every additional topping. Churros are usually my go to dessert at any type of Hispanic themed restaurant. However, this time needed cheesecake dessert Britt I would like to go to pass up! You get to choose your flavor attacking, whether it is strawberry chocolate or caramel. I decided to go Caramel. To end my meal, I ordered a margarita. I decided to do a Tajin rim and mixed pineapple and mango for the flavor. I love that you had the option to pick corn tortillas with the tacos! At other build your own taco spots I've been to, it comes with a flour tortilla and I am a corn tortilla girl. I would order the cheesecake burrito 100 more times! It gave me fair food vibes and I 100% supported it! My friend ended up ordering the churros so I still got to sample those as well. They had a crispy sweet outside, but I'm still on the hunt for a churro that is not so soft on the inside. It's just a texture thing for me, I don't like to feel like somethings not fully cooked. Nice new (to me at least) spot in Anderson to enjoy a calm lowkey date night with my husband. I've actually Gone a few times. Love the wet tacos. The sauce can be bland sometimes, I guess it just depends on who is making it. We tried the verde sauce once and it was terrible. It was super bright green with like no seasoning -it was giving me blended kiwi. Nothing to stop me from going back though just a mental note. The strawberry margaritas are good and you can apparently take them home? Super clutch. (But don't drink x drive y'all.) The trap music blasting super loud can be a bit much. This is honest-to-goodness food and a fun concept! You order your burrito piece by piece, choosing all of your own toppings and marking them onto your own individual burrito design menu... and there are a LOT of toppings to choose from. Also, try the corn on the appetizer menu. No, seriously. It's served with mayo, which is the correct way to serve corn. If you don't believe me, you're going to have to try for yourself. We found this place in just a quick google search of where we should eat in Anderson. I definitely wasn't disappointed! It's a pretty unique place in that it's a taco bar but also serves alcohol. I ordered a burrito and my bud ordered a bowl, and an appetizer of chips and queso ! The chips were awesome and the queso was soooo good, but we ordered lime salt on our chips - not sure if we got regular salt or if it just didn't have any lime flavor, but wish they would have been a little more lime. The burrito was SO yummy and they have this pineapple spicy salsa for the side that is seriously my new favorite! The people working were friendly and attentive and greeted us right when we walked in the door. Fun place, will definitely be back! I would just say please make sure your employees are wearing masks and that the customers are as well until they're ready to eat/drink. Thanks for the good time! read more

I was sharing how excited I was for the hospital cafeteria "build your own burrito" day when one of the nurses told me that if I liked burritos, BYOB was the place to go. A colleague and I decided to give it a try and all I can say is I WISH I HAD KNOWN ABOUT BYOB SOONER! The atmosphere in the restaurant was fun and vibrant. The checklist menus were GREAT for being able to see all the options and easily placing your order. The service was fast and friendly! The prices were affordable and the food was FANTASTIC! I loved the variety in burrito/taco topping options. Having queso and hot Cheetos in my burrito did not disappoint. The burrito was so heavy I made my friend hold it to see In addition to appetizers, tacos, and burritos, there are also dessert options! The churros are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with an amazing amount of cinnamon/sugar. And along with all that, THERE ARE BUILD YOUR OWN MARGARITAS! I do not recommend ordering through a delivery app from this restaurant. They do not confirm orders in a timely matter. The drivers show up and they say they are closed after not confirming the order 30 minutes before the cutoff time. This isn't a ine time issue. I have had to request at least 4 refunds. read more

We are in the midst of the great covid scare of 2020 so it was take-out only, which had its own advantages and disadvantages. I'm not sure I would have enjoyed my meal as much had I sat down to eat inside. The decor is horrible and whatever that garbage was they had on the tv felt like it was grinding on my brain and patience. However, had I sat down to eat inside I would have ordered at least one more. The burrito was awesome! If I hadn't already left the area before eating my burrito I would have gone back for more. If I could give zero stars, I would. On MLK day, my husband and decided on MLK day to try BYOB. Placed our order to go. We were planning to have our food during our dinner break at work. My husband went to pay for our order which was $13 excluding sales tax with a $20 bill. The cashIer states because it is MLK day at 12:30 pm that they don't have change. My husband trying to be kind offers to pay with a debit or credit card. The cashier states they don't take debit or credit cards. Then, she asked if my husband wants his twenty dollar bill back. WTF? Of course, he wants his money back. My husband asked to speak to the manager, the other employee in the restaurant tells my husband that manager had left over an hour ago and they didn't know where the manager was or would return. When, I posted a review of the incident on BYOB FB, one of the employees apologized for the incident and I was considering giving BYOB another change, until the owner verbal abused me for my review, yet admitted the incident happened. In fact the owner stated that BYOB didn't need customers like me. Customers like me? Customers that buy your product? In fact, the owner stated that the employee should not have apologized for the poor service and because they are locally owned I should be supportive of their business and refrain from giving them a bad review. Black Friday and we aren't interested in the crowds. BYOB wasn't busy so we decided to try it. Food was fresh, it was prepared as ordered. Staff was friendly and helpful. We had a burrito and a salad bowl, shared lime chips and queso. All were good. If you want amazing, go somewhere else. If you want simple and fresh, this is the place. I'm so glad this place opened downtown Anderson! We need more great, fast, cheap, LOCALLY OWNED food options in this town! It was super easy and the staff were all friendly. It was clean and very quick service. The price was perfect at less than $15 for two of us to eat bowls. My one suggestion is that the rice should be cilantro lime rice rather than just white rice. Just ordered to-go from here for the first time. Very interesting set up, almost like Which-Which, where you customize your own burrito, tacos, or bowl. I decided to try a bowl, with fries (+$1) with chicken and beef. Toppings were queso, black beans, jalapeños, onion and cilantro. Got home and opened up the container, looked like there were maybe 10 fries total, could tell they were frozen. Meat had very little flavor, queso was also bland. I'd like to preface this with saying that I don't leave negative reviews or complain at restaurants, ever. I'm not sure if I ever have. But I felt like this was worth noting. I was at BYOB on Saturday 11-9 around noon. It took over an hour to get the food which I was not upset about and understood. The staff was really new and they were getting used to things still. However when I got my burrito it was cold and had only two of the five things I asked for on it. One of the things missing was beans which since I'm a vegetarian this was a pretty big deal. I told the staff about the beans and they gave me a cup of cold beans to add to the burrito myself. That was a little more of a build-your-own experience than I was expecting. They also forgot to give us our drinks and chips and it took awhile before they were free enough to get it to us. I have worked in food service many years and I understand what it's like to be under pressure and under staffed but I think my meal should have been free....or at least my food remade. If I had been working there that day there is no way I would have felt okay with giving a customer a cup of cold beans to add themselves. I was really excited about this place opening because I'm downtown a lot and was planning on not leaving a bad review and giving them a second chance until I saw that they are bad mouthing their customers on facebook.
