It's a nice trail. Not too steep but not stroller friendly. It first starts off with concrete and slowly transfer to an actual trail once you pass the homes. We went on a Sunday around 1:30pm and there wasn't s lot of people on the trail. We went up an hour and a half then came back. We took our 3 year old son but definitely need a hiking backpack carrier. read more

Parking is horrible along the street and often you must park far from the pre-trailhead. I say pre-trailhead because the trailhead does not start in the real 'wilderness' until a good 15 min walk past some homes. There is really only one official 'trail' and it's an old road. The tin mine canyon trail also exists and is the only official trail that is not a road. This trail is pleasant but bug infested due to its proximity to the bourne (seasonal stream). These two trails are great for people who simply want some exercise without scenery changes and anything exciting going on. This is not a trail for someone who enjoys the great outdoors with strenuous, winding, or gorgeous wilderness trails (wilderness trails being defined by the inability of motorized vehicles to utilize said trail ways). This is a great place for kids and even the elderly to hike and enjoy nature in safety. When hiking on Skyline trail You should make sure to come prepared for high heat index, even if the temperature says it is not very hot. There is almost no shade on the trail so the heat can really get to you if you are sensitive to it. It should also be noted that dogs find it increasingly difficult to hike and not overheat on this trail when the temperature rises above 80 degrees. I've seen some very heat-exhausted dogs on this trail. The other concerns from wildlife would be rattlesnakes, if you happen to be out during the appropriate temperature gradients, and cougars. There have been cougar sightings in the past but this trail is so heavily used that they are not very common along the trail. Coyotes are also a pretty common animal to see in this area as well but they keep their distance from people. If you meander on the side trails that people have created, or tin mine trail then beware of poison oak, there is a plethora of it sprawled about the landscape. The reason I rate this trail so low is because of the lack of shade, lack of trail options, and the horrible parking situation. If you are a person who is not comfortable parallel parking then I would suggest finding a different trail to visit. read more

Oh my gosh what a hike. Park on Greenriver foothill or whatever Road it is I don't know either one of those don't park on one side because you get a ticket. Once you start the hike and you finish about two hours you'll end up in Irvine. You'll see people hiking wearing jeans and then you also see people hiking like they hiking Mount Everest so there is good people watching. Beware of snakes on the trail says grandma. Also I have a friend that lives over there and he says every once a while here's helicopters from people getting lost I think they actually have heart attacks. Wanna stay on the trail. Be mindful of where you park and look at signs or else you'll get a ticket. Period. I'd also like to revisit staying on the trail, I don't want to look at Facebook Corona or whatever I mean the police activity report and see that another person is lost on the trail. read more

This really isn't a trail. Its just a dirt road. Don't go here not safe at all. Rattle snakes and stuff, just not safe.

I live a mile from this trail. It is a good trail to hike all year around. Plenty of parking on Foothill Street. Very busy on Saturday and Sunday mornings. People starts as early as five am. The trail is wide. From the entrance to first switch back is about one mile then the short switchbacks start. On a clear day one can see the whole Corona valley. Once at the top you can see the Pacific Ocean. Good place for mountain biking. A wonderful place for family hiking. read more

This is the best place to go hiking near Corona. You can see some wildlife up there but unfortunately with so many people going up there now, it is hard to spot much. I did see a small gopher snake last time I was there and moved it from the street back to the bushes. I have had a few run ins with some shady people up there but fortunately those people are very out of their element in the hills and seem shaken up even seeing someone. Only bad incident was some guy pulling a gun on me one time, but that was a few years ago. Always bring something with you just in case! I am not going to recommend anything or reveal anything, but it is something to keep in mind. Most of the crowds up there now are families trying to lose weight together, which is really good. But since the city put benches onto the trail there tends to be a lot of extra trash (Fiber one bars) near those sections. Can people really stand to not eat for a couple hours? I am getting tired of picking up after people who trash the area. read more

Picture this... tall, lush green mountains, exotic birds flying about, wild flowers, butterfly's...if this sounds amazing then you should check out skyline drive trail. Its probably the best hiking you'll get in the I.E. There are a few different trails you can take which is nice because it doesn't limit you in terms of exploring. There are also many "non advertised" paths you can take as well, it's quite a large area to take in. If your looking for a work out in terms of cardio and taking in some views I suggest the skyline drive trail. It's all uphill and some of the trails can get pretty steep and narrow, but all the more fun if your prepared for them. The views up there are great too. If your looking for some shade, and taking in some nature and scenery then the tin mine trail is your best bet. It's very quiet and there ate a lot of trees and shrubs to keep you cool. During the weekdays parking isn't too bad, but it can be difficult on weekends to find space along foothill parkway. From foothill to the trail head is about 0.5 miles. This place doesn't disappoint! P.s try not to smell too pretty though, there are MANY flys and other flying creatures here, but as one poster said that just comes with the territory. Also if your into creepy things, there's a crashed car near the top of skyline drive, super weirded me out but it can be interesting to check out, as it's hard to miss. read more

It's over populated, people pee in public, and some people are friendly. But with over population comes with no parking, you can't be alone without someone walking around you, like seriously fuck off, and the other times you just get stared at because they've got nothing better to do but to follow you around. Love this trail. Seems like there are so many options...always seeing people taking different paths. We've done the Tin Mine Trail and also the Skyline Trail. The Tin Mine Trail is shorter and a straight shot into the canyon, a little less than two miles or so. While it was easier than the hill, this trail did not impress us. Infact it was kinda eery and unsettling. The Skyline Trail that winds up the hill is a great strenuous hike. We hiked up just shy of the top (about 3 miles or so) and really enjoyed views from Orange County to Lake Elsinore. The trail is wide with adequate shade during the late afternoon. Took us about 2-3 hours but remember the hike down is always faster than the hike up. read more

If your looking for a adventurous hike, this is the trail. There's a hidden area within the trees, shortly after the trailhead. From what I recall you should see orange flags that lead you to it. This was my very first hike and I LOVED IT! The path I took was fairly easy and lengthy. I believe we did about 4 miles in total. Their are some inclines and if you go a different way then the incline in mountainous. I personally cannot handle that just yet. If you continue straight past the huge rocks their will be rest stops with benches. FYI, my husband and I did the trail with a stroller. I DO NOT recommend this. Bring a body carrier or something like that. If was far too challenging and it took the fun out the hike. Their are certain parts of the hike that require climbing over rocks and trenches which was fun, but now imagine that with a stroller. If you have a stick or hiking stick bring it. read more

This is a beautiful trail to run but do it in the morning before it warms up to much,or you will be saturated in sweat, take some time to check out the gorgeous scenery, and if you see plastic bottles or glass containers, pick them up and dispose of them in a receptacle, these items are causing fires as the sun hits them they ignite, and this dry area burns, save our trails and open spaces. read more

I came here to hike and get outside since I was just in the hotel doing nothing (in town for work). I parked on W Foothill Pkwy right across from the paved entrance. I didn't know what to expect since I'm not from here. I walked the paved path up until the Tin Mine Canyon entrance and since I saw most people taking the steep incline path and since the canyon looked like it would be perfect in a bad scary movie I took the high road. And that is exactly what it is, a road. I've read that people call it a wide trail but in reality it is a dirt road. I walked around 5.65 miles to the KSOX Doppler radar tower, talked to some mountain bikers then headed back. On the way down two pick up trucks passed me, seemed like they were cutting grass up there-see it is a dirt road,lol! In all I walked 11.97 miles in 4 hours 6 minutes. Not bad for a non-local first timer ;) read more

Grew up on skyline. Ropes trail, little creek, etc. worst kept secret in riverside county, but my heart belongs on that hill.

This is a great leisurely hike not far from town. There isn't much too exciting about the hike, but it is relaxing and has great views. It's dog friendly, too, and has wide trails to accommodate the crowds. I like this hike because it's close, but if you're okay with the drive I would recommend Aztec Falls in the San Bernardino mountains (part of the pacific coast trail) read more

Love this hike. Easy parking, lots of friendly faces, and my friend and I were first-timers, so we had no idea what to expect. It was a fab hike, with a nice breeze and low cloud cover for most of the time. We're working our way to the Doppler Golf Ball next time. We made it to the fire staging clearing, about halfway up, for a six-mile round trip. We even got a guided tour from a seasoned hiker who knew the trails like the back of his hand! Thanks, Bill! The BEST hike ever! Easy FREE street parking in a safe neighborhood. The street are wide, so your don't have to worry about getting there early. You can hike up hill or flat leisure hike. Beware of dog poop. There's no trash cans along the trails ( City of Corona ) should place some along the way and people should pick up their dog poop. Beware of ticks (I saw some on my dog) after the rain. There's also some ropes along the trail, however I would not recommend them. The trees are brittle and looks like it will break if you try climbing them. The hike has a lot of shades and little bench along the way. Sit enjoy nature and have a pinic. read more

if you are going to go long its a great place, but for a short hike I don't understand why this is so highly rated. No real spectacular views other than Corona; but like I said its a tough place to like just as "beautiful", but if you are looking for somewhere to do a long run on trails this is a great spot. It's all uphill but downhill on the way back. Go as far as you want. It's very popular and beautiful panoramic views. People bike, run and walk. Lots of dogs on leashes. Strollers and kids also go up the trail. read more
