My family enjoys staying here. Not fancy, but we don't need much. Safe, clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced.

We just arrived at the Delta Hotel after a 5hr drive. Let me rewind here for a second. The reason…read morewe selected this hotel is because they allow pets, as well as the location. We are traveling with our golden retriever. A month ago we booked a presidential suite via the Bonvoy website as we wanted plenty of room. A week prior to our vacation I double checked the reservation and saw the following statement "Please note that not all preferences are guaranteed." Trying to figure out how that applies, we contacted the hotel to speak to someone to confirm our reservation with a pet. We were told that pets are excluded from the presidential suites. Nowhere on the website does it mention that pet are designated to specific rooms only. We ended up booking a smaller 2 room suite with a kitchenette (sink, microwave, small fridge and Kurig k-cup coffeemaker). We arrived late afternoon after traveling for 5hrs. We did bring a few small grocery items that we placed in the fridge. I spent 20 minutes trying to get the coffeemaker to work only to realize that the pump is broken in the machine. No towels to wipe the water up in the kitchen area. No utensils, plates or napkins provided incase you want to heat something in the microwave. In addition, the two room suite that we ended up booking DOES NOT match the photos on their website. The hotel is apparently going through renovations and the images they are showing are the updated rooms (what they WILL look like once renovations are completed). Not cool! We're spending $1200 for 2nights. We've been here an hour and so far I'm not impressed.

If you are comfortable camping or staying in cabins then you will be comfortable staying here. If…read moreyou are used to 3 star or better than you may be uncomfortable here but this is rural Michigan and definitely not unexpected. The biggest downside is the bathroom size. It is extremely narrow and if you are tall or a plus size person it will be uncomfortable. There is very little room between the toilet and wall or the bathtub and the wall. If you stay in the cabins there is no view but did feel like it was private. Bringing in an expert for space management and a refresh look would definitely not hurt. Here are the positives! First and foremost the staff is excellent. We encountered several employees and each and every one that helped us were all extremely kind. We have stayed at a total of 8 hotels this trip and they were by far the most friendly and welcoming staff that we came in contact with. The location is absolutely excellent for going to the Locks and going to the local shops. It was great to be able to go across the street to freshen up before a meal or in between tours. Our son had just bought an expensive mattress and went in with flashlights to look for bed bugs and none were to be found and trust me he went down to the mattresses, looked into the corners and under the mattresses as well. A couple of not unexpected moisture bugs were found later in the evening but again this is a cabin lodge type of location near the water. The room was clean and definitely as clean as several others that we stayed at. We stayed two nights but had breakfast only one day at the motel. I definitely regretted not just having breakfast there both days. The food was fresh and for the most part traditional hotel breakfast foods with a fabulous breakfast employee who could not help a person enough.

I really enjoyed the stay here. Initially I was looking for a property for myself, my elderly…read morefather, and our dog to stay overnight. Lockview was pet friendly, and had a $30 charge for pet cleaning- totally fair. Ultimately, I ended up travelling alone, and the staff removed the pet fee and had my room ready early for check in. The staff is GREAT. It's an older but updated property, and I was able to stay in one of the connected cabins- really cool. Parking was parallel to the door, so close parking was like... 5 feet away from my driver's side door. Push button electronic locks with daily rotating codes- it felt very safe. The cabin was nice and clean, smelled clean, and the furnishings were nice. No caroet, which I prefer- vinyl plank. I enjoyed the round coffee table and the barrel chairs. Made it nice to get some work done not having to sit on a bed, (which would not have been ideal at all since they are raised) at a desk, or in a wingback with no matching height table. Water was hot, TV was great, and the only hiccup was a bad TV HDMI cable which maintenance fixed with a new one in under 15 minutes. Really happy with my stay here, would definitely stay again!

Rooms vary widely in size and shape from typical small hotel size to spacious suite. Hotel is old and outdated but in decent condition. Hallways & elevator are narrow. Ice is only available on first floor. Bed is on firm side. Amenities such as restaurant and fitness are closed. Breakfast is a bagel, toast or muffin. Free parking lot. Convenient to downtown strip and next door to locks. You will hear the ships blowing their horns as is required when they exit the locks. Staff is mediocre.

Iconic hotel...Yes Great location....Yes…read moreClean rooms....Yes Pool...CLOSED Bar....CLOSED Restaurant....CLOSED Front desk staff. Check in was a chilly reception. Our room wasn't ready at 3pm. Told come back in 20 minutes. Nope still not ready. Sat around with luggage for an hour before we could check in. Front desk staff. check out was rude, and unacceptable. Didn't acknowledge us standing there. Didn't speak to us. Printed our receipt, tossed it on counter. I asked to speak to manager, she held up sticky note that said "what for?". I wasn't sure why she wasn't talking. Maybe a handicap I thought . She just ignored us. I asked again. she wrote another note...what for?...I asked if management is there. She wrote another note...No. my husband asked if there was coffee? She ignored him. He asked again. She wrote ...It's broke. I saw someone come out of office. I asked if there was a manager. She said yes I'm manager. Really?? Front desk just lied and said you weren't here. We told her everything that happened. She didn't seem really concerned. Apologized and said she'd talk to employe. we told her if that was our employee they'd be fired on the spot. Front desk staff is first impression of hotel. Cleaning staff ...did excellent job with what they have to work with. Hotel needs major updating . Tables in our room were all scratched up and old. Bathroom floor tile cracked. Paying for all amenities and not being available and hotel needing repairs is not acceptable. For a Ramada property and cost it should be much much better. Maybe worth 89.00 to 100.00 a night. Definitely not worth $171.00 night.
