Doing some research we had some specific dates, destinations and even the cruise line. I found Travel Leaders so I emailed one of their agents to get some information and questions on the benefits of working with an agent. I initially contacted Karen Malone due to the experience and reviews listed on her bio. Karen called me within 24 hours and briefly reviewed the detailed information that I had emailed. She stated she would put together some information and numbers and email those to me. A couple of days later I receive an email from a Karen Soltis. Her email had other ships and dates that I had not described in my initial email and conversation. I replied to Karen advising her of the details and apologizing if the information I had discussed with Karen Malone was not clear. Karen Soltis did reply and stated she would get the additional and correct information to me. That was over three weeks ago. Since that time I met a representative from the cruise line we are considering and also met a travel agent that specializes in cruises. I doubt that I will hear from Travel Leaders and I doubt I will ever contact them again. I will however work with the individuals that I have recently become acquainted. Sometimes fate works out better than the plan. That certainly seems to be the case here.

It only took one simple phone call to let Kristi know when and where we wanted to go. She took care of the plane tickets and hotel reservation in two simple phone calls and emailed me all of the information right after I booked. It was quick and convenient! She also includes our airport transfer in the package which was very helpful. There were no details she didn't cover! We booked our stay at the El Cid Castilla in Mazatlan. We were impressed with the location of the hotel as it was right down town close to the golden zone and lots of restaurants and bars. The staff was accommodating and friendly and the service at the restaurants was great. Our favorite was the Italian restaurant which was included in our all inclusive package. We also enjoyed our room! It was probably the most comfortable bed I've ever had on a vacation out of the country and was a king size bed! We had a great view of the ocean from the 7th floor and even received a welcome basket including tequila upon arrival thanks to Kristi. We visited during Carnival week and there was lots of festivities going on as a result. Kristi worked with the hotel to set up transport to old Mazatlan to see the fireworks one night and also arranged for us to attend the parade a different night. Both were great experiences and something we wouldn't have probably done without her assistance. She went above and beyond to make our trip fabulous! We are looking forward to planning our next vacation with Kristi in the future! She was friendly, prompt, and made the whole process from start to finish very easy!

We spent the most incredible week in Costa Rica, arranged by Jessica at Gökotta Travel. Started in…read morethe Arenal Volcano Region at Tabacón Resort and finished with the beach at Tamarindo. The gorgeous scenery and wildlife sightings made us all fall in love with the Arenal area and La Fortuna. Best sightings were the monkeys, toucan, owls, colorful birds and reptiles that we saw hiking, zip-lining and floating through the rainforest. The guides were all so amazing at spotting the hidden wildlife and they were such a joy be around and learn from. You could tell they loved their jobs and were proud to share their extraordinary country with us visitors. And the hot springs... so beautiful and relaxing!! Tamarindo was a fun surfer beach town. So many great restaurants to explore and we enjoyed lounging by the beautiful pools. The catamaran/snorkeling trip was an excellent way to end the vacation. This trip wouldn't have happened without Jessica at Gökotta Travel. She arranged all the important details (airport transfers, resorts, travel between cities, tours) so that we could relax and enjoy it all. Dean is, by far, the absolute best travel agent I have ever worked with. I wanted to take my kids…read moresomewhere and just wasn't sure where to start. As a single mom and the world the way it is right now, I was overwhelmed to say the least. Dean not only gave me stellar (and safe) options, he also had inside information I never would have known. He gave me forms that needed to be completed prior to travel (which I would have missed had I planned the trip myself), and knew of beaches to avoid due to seaweed infestations that were causing them to be shut down. He found options that fit my budget, criteria, and had things for both my kids and I to do. As if that wasn't enough, he was there every step of the way when I had questions (which was often...I haven't left the country in a while). With all this, you'd think he would cost a fortune, but I didn't pay him a dime. I believe he gets paid through the vacation company, but I'm not sure. I was truly shocked that he didn't charge for his services, especially considering the fact he took care of everything. I will NEVER travel without Dean again!!!

Pique Travel Design is simply a beautiful space to hold an event. It is comfortable and gorgeous, and it was so easy to just tell Jessica what I was looking for and she helped to make sure the room would be set up with exactly what I needed. D'Amico... What can you say? The planning process could not have been better. Christie gave me an estimate, and we talked through it and came to an agreement on how much and what food was really needed, and the result was a perfect amount of food for the group in attendance. The set up of the food was amazing, and the staff on site was just AWESOME. They even helped us set up our decorations, they answered any questions I had, they were flexible with timing, and they even brought me a beverage as I was standing toward the back of the room chatting. All in all, the event was a huge success, and I am so impressed and happy with both Pique and D'Amico and the amazing service and care they put into this. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!

Did not show -- Lied, was dismissive and rude…read more We had our wedding on July 12 of this year. Months prior, I booked chairs from Unique Party Rental and communicated multiple times with Simon Marwa, the business owner. We confirmed the wedding date several times, and about three months out, we even met at the venue to go over logistics. Everything seemed good, and Simon agreed to have the chairs delivered and set up by noon on the day of the wedding. Fast forward to July 12. I arrived at the venue around 12:15 PM--no chairs. Our day-of coordinator hadn't received any updates from Unique Party Rental, and began calling them--no answer. Eventually, they called back saying they had a flat tire and would arrive at 12:40 PM. Frustrating, but understandable. But by 12:45, there were still no chairs. More calls--no response. Around 1:00 PM, they called back and said they weren't coming at all and would issue a refund instead. Our coordinator told them they needed to bring the chairs, but after more waiting, nothing changed. At 1:10 PM, we told them not to come. Thankfully, our venue had an emergency backup set of chairs, which saved the day. My now-wife and I decided to wait a week to allow time for Simon to reach out, and resolve the issue with us via a refund, but no call ever came. I had to follow up with Simon multiple times to get our refund. He was slow to respond and dismissive, even saying that he wishes we "would have called to remind him to bring the chairs." A month later, when I called to confirm the refund came through and asked about compensation for the stress and the extra cost of the venue chairs, Simon finally apologized--but also changed his story, saying a system error caused the no-show. That means the original flat tire excuse was a lie. He offered to pay half of the extra money we had to spend. I told him I didn't think that was fair due to the fact that we had family and friends waiting around in the sun for a long time, in addition to the stress, and setting our wedding back over half an hour. Plus, he lied to us, which he refused to acknowledge. I began to tell him we would be more apt to write a better review if he would be willing to take responsibility, when he suddenly interrupted me, started yelling at me, accused me of threatening him with a review, and hung up. That was the end of it. Some people may have had decent experiences with Unique Party Rental--but based on mine, I strongly recommend you don't take the risk.
