The station itself is beautiful, while plain and basic simultaneously. It's really nicely themed red-brick to match the industrial feel of the Mapunapuna / Airport Industrial Business District. One bad thing is that there are only elevators and stairs, so if the elevators are down, you will have to climb or decend four flights of stairs. The elevators were already broken on opening weekend!!! One unique feature is the bike storage inside the paid area, but unlike Makalapa Station, you have to ask an attendant to open the bike storage door for you. This is also the new transfer point for express buses to Downtown, UH Mānoa, and Waikīkī. The A Line is the shortened A Express we know and love that now terminates here and runs express to Downtown via the H-1 throught its original route to UH Mānoa. The U Line is a new once-hourly express directly to UH Mānoa on Dole Street and terminates at Market City Shopping Center; very useful for UH Students. Then, the W Line replaces the old Route 20 that is a now limited-expesss bus through Nimitz Highway directly into Waikīkī. Instead of 1.5 hours from Airport to Waikīkī, it's now 40 minutes on the W Line. There is nothing much within walking distance besides Keʻehi Lagoon Park, but as of now, this is available vital stop for express buses headed east for now while we wait for Segment 3 to open in Downtownm

Construction started already beyond the Kahauiki Station as we speak I believe the track is up to Marukai area. The train is very clean and comfortable they have workers going up and down the cars cleaning along with security roaming the train . The station entrance is easily accessible from the bus terminal. There's a decent sized parking lot where you can park for a maximum of 24 hours, but no shade. There are also restrooms that's part of the bus terminal. The station is very new, so everything is clean. There are elevators from the bus facility, but it's a semi-lengthy walk to the rail line. A moving walkway would be nice, but I'm already wondering how much did each nut and bolt cost. Nice to see there was security around as well. Can't wait till the rail can go east from here...

The transit…read morecenter could be so much cleaner & healthier, but it's littered with trash, the ground is sticky & gross. The City & County really need to bleach & pressure wash this place down on a weekly basis.There's a huge roof top parking lot but no one parks there, because it would mean taking the stairs or elevator where the homeless sleep, eat, use the bathroom & other unmentionable activities, it's nasty, scary & stinks. However, there is always security present. I've witnessed a few times where they had to ask a mentally ill person who's been tripping since the early 60's to leave & sleep it off. The buses run pretty much on schedule, the drivers are nice & informative. They drive like a bat out of hell so if you see them coming get the F out of their way. Other waiting bus riders usually tend to themselves which I like cause I dislike mindless little chit chat. You can find everything you need on The Bus website & other sites regarding fares, schedules & routes. The new Holo card is easy to use & reload.

This is station 2 (station 1 is right by the Kroc Center). Lots of parking here but I'm finding out that the lot fills up fast and although the grassy area across the street is not designated spots, I've seen cars parked there. If you insist on parking, try Station 3 (Honouliuli) as they have the most parking. If you've never taken the rail before, it's not hard at all. You must have a Holo card with some funds on it. This card can be purchased at 7-11 or anywhere you get a bus pass. I was gifted my card and i charged/filled it with $20.00. It's basically $3.00 each direction. With that card, you tap the sensor and the gate opens. Walk, take the elevator or escalator to CP level and wait for your ride. Since this is the second to the furthest west, the only stop west is station 1 (Kroc center and closer to Ka Makana Mall) or go east and get off on your desired stop. The actual rail has forward facing and side facing (fold down) seats, as well as an area for luggage or big items. I've seen people come on with their e-bikes and regular bikes on here. Hold on to your Holo card as you'll use it again when you disembark and leave the station. Simply tap the exit screen and the gate opens. I've used the rail to and from the airport now and it's wonderful!! Only thing, there is no overnight parking for vehicle and the rail starts at 4am and runs to 10pm (for now).

The station itself is great! There are 3 elevators so it can meet the large demand of people getting to their flights with luggage. There are no escalators though, so stairs or elevators only. There are three entrances; one at the mezzanine and two at ground level. I highly recommend going to the airport using the mezzanine entrance, left to Terminal 2 (non-Hawaiian Airlines besides to Japan) and right to Terminal 1 (Hawaiian Airlines exclusive). Terminal 2 is a short walk through the Terminal 2 garage and to the bridge to the terminal. Terminal 1 is a convoluted two-step process of walking through the International Garage, going to floor 6 to the overpass to the Inter-Island Garage, crossing the garage onto the Terminal. Pro Tip: If you're going to Waikīkī, buy your Holo Card at the Station and take the W Line, which a 3 minute walk to in front of the lei stands. If you don't want to walk that far, take Skyline one stop East to Ahua Station and meet the W Line in front of the station entrance (free transfers included). Waianae Transit Center is located on Lehoku Street. Passengers of the bus can see the view of the ocean from a distance as well as the back end of the parking lot of Waianae Mall. There's a clock fixture on the premises supposedly telling the current time of the day (not sure if it still works). There's no restroom facilities unless you want to consider the two port-a-potties that's available for the brave folks. Other wise the nearest restrooms are located at Pizza Hut for paying customers, Starbucks for paying customers, and Burger King. The few times that I have been to this public transit center I noticed some pre-teens riding their skateboards and doing small tricks on the sidewalk. I also noticed that the concrete sidewalk has a bunch of gum marks. Like most bus stop locations there will always be graffitis on the shelters or seats. Waianae Transit Center could use a bit more lights for the evenings. Especially when it's very dark. More lights equals to safe transit area for the residents of Waianae. Better to be safe in knowing your surrounding area than not knowing what's in your vicinity.

If you need to be on the same side of the road as the train, you need to exit next to the bus area, then cross the street at the next crosswalk.

The advertised ice cream stop is just a stop at a local shopping plaza, where you're directed to buy ice cream from the ABC Store. It didn't feel like a special attraction at all. If you're expecting scenic ocean views, temper your expectations. We only caught two brief glimpses of the water. The majority of the ride passes through overgrown brush, a shopping cart graveyard, and several homeless encampments. Overall, it felt like a waste of both our time and money. Unfortunately, we wouldn't recommend it, especially for families with young children.

It's a slow-paced easy ride with a narration of the area's past history and current status. Once the train entered onto the Ko Olina property the views were beautiful, especially up the sea cost. Passengers on both sides of the railcars switch seats to provide equal viewing opportunities. The seats are hard wood, so bring cushions. Overall a nice diversion and unique way to see the leeward (west) coastline of Oahu. Good for children especially. Staff very hospitable.
