Rude, rude, did I say rude? Came here just a few minutes before they opened and the man downstairs posted up in front of the elevator could not have been more short and rude to begin with and told us to come back at 6. We did, and then eventually we were turned away because my sister had a go pro with her (we were headed to a concert later, with a no bag policy so she had it in her hand) and rudely told us that cameras weren't allowed. That would be fine if that policy was stated on their website, but there is 0 mention of it in their FAQs online. He said we could go up if we left it with him. I recommend making that "policy" clear in the FAQs. read more

The skyline of the city was an amazing backdrop for the evening! I visited SkyLounge for a friend's birthday party and it was great!!! The space is covered, but has a spot on the patio that is not covered. It is perfect when the weather is nice. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The event was catered and the food was delicious. I loved their mac and cheese and the sauted mushrooms. My husbands tried their hamburger sliders and really enjoyed them. The bar is open and inviting, and the servers were helpful! Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here and would love to visit again! read more

Terrible experience at SkyLounge! I went for a friends birthday event and apparently they recently started a new policy of "no torn clothing" that they failed to inform the party about. I arrived with nice jeans that had a single split at the knee and I was not allowed to enter. The manager said I was not in dress code and didn't apologize for not informing us of the new policy. He was extremely unhelpful and rude. All evening, they continued to have irate guests with the same issue and turned away numerous people. Not happy with this policy. Everyone was appropriately dressed for a lounge, yet we were turned away like we were thugs. They need to change the policy or do a better job of informing guests who call and ask for dress code ahead of time. I will not be returning to this establishment. We took the entire party across the street to Thrive and had an amazing evening. read more

We were looking for a nice downtown Atlanta bar while we were in town for the weekend and this bar popped up. There was a $5 cover to get into the bar, which wasn't too bad and we rode the elevator up to the roof. There was a guy playing acoustic cover songs while lots of people mingled and sipped on craft cocktails. It took us a minute to find the bar where we were greeted by an impatient and unfriendly bartender. I asked her for a recommendation between two drinks and she simply replied "they are different" without much advice either way. I ordered their version of a whiskey sour and my boyfriend ordered their version of a Moscow Mule. I spent $29 including tip. The view was amazing and we took lots of photos from the balcony. If you're looking for good drinks with a great view, you have to come here! I visited the SkyLounge with my co-workers for happy hour while on a business trip in Atlanta and fell completely in love with the view. The ambiance is very nice, what you would expect from a typical rooftop bar, but there's just something super special about being in the middle of downtown with an amazing view of all the special sights. I arrived a little bit later than my co-workers, so they had already started ordering appetizers for the table. They ordered a couple meat and cheese boards that included pimento cheese, a new found favorite after visiting the south. The appetizers were pretty good, no major complaints there. I ordered a fruity drink called the Centennial which was absolutely amazing. I loved the flavor and appreciated that they didn't skimp on the alcohol. The only thing that turned me off a bit was the waitress that served us. Her attitude was horrible as compared to the wonderful southern hospitality we were receiving throughout the whole trip. It was a little disappointing to feel like we were bothering someone the whole time, but maybe she was having a bad day. The servers immediately offered to dry chairs and tables that were wet from the rain and we didn't have to wait long to order or receive our drinks. I wouldn't come hungry! If you're hungry, grab something before. I think I saw some small bites on the menu but don't quote me on it! I don't recall seeing anyone eating anything! Came for the first time on a Thursday evening for a private event. The lounge is pretty small and cozy. The rooftop is amazing! Very nice view of the city. The food provided was prepared by Glenn's Kitchen. It was ok. The mac and cheese I had wasn't very tasty. The brisket and pulled pork however, looked really good. I'm not sure what the menu is like normally, but the sample of food I had was just ok. They also have a decent drink selection. Overall, a nice place to come and chill. Take note of the dress code as well. They have valet parking which is about $15 for 3 hours. I think you can get the first 3 hours validated if you go to the restaurant or whatever. I was so DISAPPOINTED by this place, was visiting from out of town and a friend invited us out, luckily we got there early enough to miss the cover. Not only does this place lack a great drinking menu the food options are just as bad, and the staff even worse!!! Someone in my party asked a question/looking for a recommendation about a drink and the waitress straight up said "Ma'am everything is listed there for you so you know what's in it, it just depends on what you want" but in such a terrible demeanor. Decent views of the city and Ferris wheel, located on top of the Glenn hotel. The entrance is by the entrance of the parking garage, though you can also enter through the hotel/hotel bar. There is a cover fee of $5 but it is waived for hotel guests (each guest needs to provide proof of their stay). There was a guy singing and playing guitar, performing tunes from Happy Birthday, to Thong Song (yeah). Drinks are decently priced along with a menu of small bites. Bathrooms are sort of hidden, just on the other side of the bar. Two girls were smoking a joint when I went to the bathroom, but I laughed it off. Overall a cute date place, option to start a GNO, or to end your night on the town. read more

I came here after the 2018 Peach Bowl for a celebratory drink after the awesome Gator win. At first, I shuddered at the $5 cover charge (free if you're staying in the hotel), but quickly found that it was worth it for the beautiful views, classy surroundings, and great bar service. They don't allow ball caps but you can check them at the desk gratis. I recommend a trip to the Sky Lounge if you want to gaze at the Atlanta skyline and sort of get away from the street-level happenings. read more

What a let down. This place has changed names a few times and everyone seems to make this place worse and worse. It use to be a great place for a drink and evening out. I use to come here for a nice evening out or bring friends (visitors and locals alike) goods drinks and sweeping views of town, both to the horizon and up to the clouds. It use to have a high-end lounge vibe It's still on top of a great hotel but the vibe is gone, the views are now limited. The plush leather sofas have been replaced with Ikea sectionals. The open sky is now blocked by a white canvas roof that looks like a cheap tarp from a tailgate. The on-trend music has been switched for a DJ blasting outdated tunes (with no theme or transition) WAY too loud from a setup on a folding table with temp speakers posted around. The drinks are still decent. The staff is much less friendly but given the changes I can't blame them. The drop in quality of this place was SO shocking I was embarrassed to have brought friends there and basically couldn't leave fast enough. I won't be returning and anyone else wanting to save time, money, and disappointment should doing the same. read more

Really great view of downtown Atlanta. You can even see the Atlantic Station skyline from the patio. You have to pay to get to the elevator to go up to the lounge, FYI. Mixed drinks are at a higher price point than normal, same for most of the beer on their list. The bar ran out of the more popular bottled beers early in the evening. One of the bartenders was making fun of a customer under his breath to another customer but was obviously loud enough to be heard by other people. I'd say check it out once, get one drink and a good photo of the skyline, then go elsewhere for a fun evening. read more

It's actually 2.5 stars. The ride up to the sky lounge I imagined a nice & sexy roof top lounge, because roof top lounges are known to be nice & sexy. But...after getting off the elevator I felt as if I had somehow gone onto a neighbor's patio. The furniture literally looked as if it came out of a Better Home & Garden magazine. Instead of some cool updated modern but sexy lounge furniture you got Aunt Debbie's 2006 Top Pick for patio furniture. The furniture at least gave off the right type of ambience for the place. The view is nice. Anyone who is expecting something more than a nice view is in the wrong city. Before you get up to the sky lounge there's a visible sign of what apparel is not accepted in the lounge. They are apparently very lenient regardless of what the sign says. Drinks. Mm. I had a cranberry & vodka as well as a shot of grand Marnier that my friend felt the need to order. They served the C&V in a 16 oz glass. I really tasted the cranberry. I didn't like the Grand Marnier & prefer other cognacs but that has nothing to do with the lounge. Music was cool. View was nice. If you would like to enjoy someone's company for a nice night cap this will provide you with the relaxed atmosphere you need. read more

1) They have valet parking ,but was filled when we arrived. Had to park across the street for $10. There is street parking around, but 1 block radius was filled. 2) Maybe 10-15 people in the entire place, might've been because it was drizzling outside. The crowd was a lot different than I was expecting, much older most over 35-40. 3) Old uncomfortable furniture and seating. 4) The beers were $5-6 and cocktails $10, but the bartender didn't fill my beer up to the top and a friend said they didn't enjoy their go-to cocktail. 5) Bathrooms atrocious, friend said not a single piece of paper in the women's bathroom. 6) You get one of the best views of Atlanta from SkyLounge, but I don't think it makes up for all the deficiencies. Beautiful views but overpriced drinks and snacks (no full menu). Also the service is very, very slow and made a lot of mistakes with the check. The check was 20% too high because the wines on the check were each priced $2 more than stated on the menu and the Twitter check-in discount of $5 was not deducted. Overall not a great experience. Only thing worth visiting is the view. And overhearing the conversation next to us between two locals they thought the same. Heared them mention that Atlanta has under 5 rooftop terraces so you have very limited choices and have to settle for high prices and poor service. And excuse any grammar and spelling mistakes. Came here for an after work networking event in June and had a great time. The space is nicely setup with lots of space to move around. There are several seating options from bar tops to stools at the bar, to cushioned seats and couches. There are some great views of the edge of downtown. I didn't have any of the signature cocktails but they did look tempting. There is also a bar menu that appeared to have some good food options worth trying. I didn't necessarily see tons of smiles from the staff (possibly from the heat) but once I actually spoke with any of them to make a request I found that they were very accommodating. Great spot to unwind after work or on a weekend and enjoy the open air. Two warnings: #1 - This is not a great spot to be in when it is extremely warm outside and the air is still. There is no ventilation other than the outside air so if there is no breeze the heat can be brutal. Heat aside, I did enjoy taking in the views once the sun went down and things cooled down a bit. #2 - I heard that there is a cover charge to get into the SkyLounge area. I was there for an event so that was waived, but you may want to call ahead to see if this applies all day every day. read more

So I planned on kicking off my birthday here Friday night but to my surprise it is much like a stop and go type place. In fact, I ended up leaving after one hour....It is a great place to see the view of Atlanta but definitely not a typical "Atlanta lounge" The attire is very casual and laid back. Cons: So here were some cons for me. So the lounge is located inside Glen's hotel, which can get confusing if you don't know. You must valet which is $15 (no biggie) and pay a cover charge of $5 if you are not a guest in the hotel. Now my only issue with this is that, it's not a lounge you can stay at longer than a hour. So this could really be a waste of $20. Pros: So some of the pros for me was the nice view of the city, the drinks, atmosphere and decor.. All though it sits on a rooftop, which contributes to the amazing view, it would also make it difficult to visit this lounge in the cold months. They also have a full bar which I personally love. I think it's a great place to stop by after or before a date, or girls/guys night out, if you don't mind spending $15 to park and $5 to get in. The drinks are good and prices vary depending on what you order. There is no real food, but small overpriced finger foods. (So plan to eat before or after you go). How do you waste a great view? This place appears to cater to an out to get drunk crowd. From the posted dress code at the elevator downstairs to servers who don't know more about the wine than we have a Chardonnay and a Cabernet and a Pinot, it all screams a fold up table off the back of a pickup. They were serving off a limited menu of food selections from the Glenn Hotel and our sampler of deviled eggs, smoked trout spread, and pimento cheese was quite forgettable. The highlight was the smoked trout, but the deviled eggs were bland. The server assured me that the whiskey sour was good, but it ranked as a new low in terms of what I have experienced. I don't remember the last time I was forced to endure a dry mix version of lemonade, but this was all I could picture when I tasted it. We quickly closed our tab and walked to White Oak nearby to experience a quality cocktail. I hope that the staff of Skylounge can arrange a group outing to experience what properly mixed drinks should taste like. Ray's in the City, Legal Seafood, and White Oak Kitchen all mix better cocktails. Lastly, I find it telling that no one asked about our experience. I was ready to actually tell the manager what a wreck this place appeared to be on the Friday night when we visited, but no one took the time to ask. It's jarring to see the attention to detail regarding decor, uniforms, and glassware displayed at quality dining destinations compared to this place. Maybe my expectations were far too high for what they are trying to be, but it fails miserably when located in a boutique-type hotel with an amazing view of the Atlanta skyline. Head for the Sundial if you need to see the city. read more

I've heard alot about this place and finally went last night. It was honestly like "Eh". Walking in I expected nice couches and lounge chairs and what I got were wicker chairs and wood hightops. Other than the view there was nothing else it offered, except for untapped potential. The place would be truly amazing if they had legitimate furniture and dressed the place up. I tried to go about a month ago but I was told that they were closed for renovations and after finally seeing it I seriously wondered what they renovated. The 5 dollar cover isn't bad so I'm not completely upset, though i did spend 15 dollars for parking bc the valet was full. But you live and you learn and you don't go back to skylounge. read more
