My comic-book-collecting husband rarely leaves Big Brother empty handed. For Dungeons & Dragons fans, there is a wall full of character minis to choose from. I was so excited to find my characters and my friends' characters after not finding them at other comic book stores. They also have board games and accessories. I particularly love looking at the display cases. Lots of the figurines spark childhood memories which make the shopping experience extra fun. You can tell that each item is handled with care and priced appropriately for collectors. Don't forget to look up to admire the wall decorations! The owners and employees put a lot of thought into this shop to make it fun for patrons of all ages.

I am not a comic book person, but I do like visiting and walking around like I know what I'm looking at. My husband is a nerd for comics so we popped in to see what new stuff they had. I liked seeing all of the cool interesting games, books and figurines. They offer so much at this store and the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly! My husband bought the Ultimate Spiderman comic and my daughter picked out a Teen Titans Go book - I think it came out to a little over $30 for both so not too bad. Pricing was fairly decent - you get what you pay for and depending on the rarity! They even have a large room with tons of tables and chairs next door for gaming with friends. Overall, Big Brother Comics is a pretty cool store! I'm sure we'll be back soon!

They have a huge selection of comic books, collectibles, artwork, and fun memorabilia throughout the shop. One of my favorite parts was meeting the two adorable, well-behaved pugs who were happily hanging around the store. They definitely add to the welcoming atmosphere. The walls are covered with interesting art and displays, making the entire shop feel unique and full of personality. Everywhere you look there's something fun, quirky, or nostalgic to check out. And I have to give a special shoutout to the bathroom. I don't think I've ever mentioned a comic shop bathroom in a review before, but this one was awesome. The walls were hand-painted with beautiful koi fish artwork and even included information about the artist. It felt more like a little art exhibit than a restroom. As the wife who isn't really into comic books, I also appreciated that there was a comfortable, clean waiting area where I could relax while my husband browsed. That's a small detail, but it made the experience much more enjoyable for me. Between the friendly owner, the adorable pugs, the creative artwork, the welcoming atmosphere, and the massive selection of comics and collectibles, this place is a gem. Whether you're a serious collector, a casual fan, or just tagging along with one, it's absolutely worth stopping by.

Naturally, I spent most of my time downstairs. The bookseller on the lower level was so knowledgeable! We got into a whole conversation and they pointed me toward several horror picks I never would have found on my own, including some horror graphic novels I'm genuinely excited about. That kind of interaction is exactly why indie bookstores matter. They also have an in-person horror book club, which honestly made me a little sad because I couldn't join. If I lived in Sacramento, I would 100% be a regular here. Highly recommend if you're passing through.

At first, I thought the customer service was attentive. The moment I found my first treasure, an older employee was right there to take it to the front, and I appreciated having my hands free to continue shopping. A short time later, my husband took another item off the wall for me, and within less than a minute the same employee appeared again to take that item as well. At that point, I still hadn't realized we were being watched so closely. Then she asked if she could take the small white paper bag I had from a vendor across the street and hold it at the front. I had already been in the store for about 30 minutes and had only selected two items to purchase, so I found it odd that she seemed concerned about my small bag. I agreed, and she asked for my name to label it. We continued browsing, but when she came back again asking for my phone number "so I wouldn't forget my bag," I had had enough. The constant attention made me feel like I was being treated as a potential shoplifter rather than as a customer. If theft is a concern, install cameras or use other security measures. Making paying customers feel like they're under surveillance throughout their visit is not good customer service. I love visiting antique stores, but this was the most uncomfortable shopping experience I've ever had. Unfortunately, Antique 57 in Sacramento failed this customer.

The staff is always friendly and willing to help you whenever you need it. On this particular day I arrived, and as I entered, I was welcomed in, which I appreciated. I quickly went to look for a book (Red Rising) that I had heard was a great read, and when I couldn't find it on the shelf, I went to the front door and asked the lady how it was organized and she let me know it was by theAuthor's last name. However, on the way back to the shelf, I did find it on a table on the new and hot items list. Somehow, being in a bookstore with other book lovers, you just feel a different vibe that you don't feel when you're outside of those doors. But if you're looking for a cool bookstore, I would definitely recommend coming here. You will find what you need.
