I cannot recommend her enough. I found her through a friend who used her for her wedding. The pictures she took for my friends wedding were literally out of a wedding magazing!! With us - first, she started with our engagement pics (included in our wedding package), which were amazing. We were hoping to wing things and she was able to find beautiful spots to take so so many amazing photos in. She got them all edited and back to us within a month (and this, mind you, is during peak wedding season). THEN comes the wedding planning. I was a very detailed planner, and Caitlin and I were a match made in vendor heaven. She was in contact with us throughout our 2.5 year engagement, helping us get a grip on what we will need for wedding time, and then about a month before, she sends over a whole website (!!!) for us to fill out to keep track of things we want, timelines, contacts, picture lists, etc. Not having to type that all up in an email and answer it questionnaire style was literally the best ever. I even received an email from her at one point telling me that if I need to talk about wedding planning to get talked back from the ledge, she could talk me down. How great is that - not only concerned with her piece in the wedding, but making sure that things are going great for me. On the wedding day, Caitlin and her assistant photographer Megan were like ninjas. Everything we wanted in pictures was captured beautifully. Our wedding photos were sent to us while we were on our honeymoon - not even 2 weeks after the event - GORGEOUS. Totally edited and ready to use. She uses an online album sharing tool to view (and you can download/order as well from there). But is also sending along a USB full of all the pictures for us to keep. Caitlin you ROCK!! My husband Matt and I spent a lot of time online reviewing photographers' websites and grew frustrated as we couldn't find anything that we liked. Many of them had a stuffy, dated look to them. Dan was referred to us through a family member, and as soon as we looked at the photos on his site we instantly knew that we wanted to work with him. His photos are modern yet classic, and truly capture the joy, beauty and intimacy of a wedding day. When we had a phone call with Dan, and then met him in person for our engagement shoot, our expectations were exceeded again. He is very helpful and responsive with calls and emails, and incredibly friendly, down-to-earth and fun to be around. Spending the afternoon around NYC during our engagement shoot felt like hanging out with an old friend, even though we had just met. Dan had the same ease with our family and wedding party during our wedding day, and we didn't even find out until nearly the end of the evening that he had a very high temperature and was sick all day! Mass produced selfie generation, blah. Dan is a true photojournalist -- his pictures follow a story line that he cultivates for the couple and the family. His expertise won't cost a fortune, either. The sweet spot of competence, character, passion and raw talent intersect in his photography. We, new husband and I, are at the age where "everyone" posts their Facebook engagement/wedding/baby photos. Publicly, we have been told by couples that are seriously dating that they will use Dan. Privately, we have been told by married couples that they regret not learning about Dan before their own engagements and weddings. I intend maintain a relationship with Dan for our family photos. She did a really nice job putting together our engagement photos and mounting them for the guests to sign on the big day. I would take pictures of my cats with my phone all the time, but I really wanted a professional to take some pictures and just capture the essence of how cute and meaningful they are to me. Unlike phone pictures, they have a great background, are not blurry, and the pictures capture the entire kittens' bodies. Lisa was so gentle and approachable with the kittens and they took to liking her and playing with her right away. It's so hard to have kittens sit still, but Lisa was able to use a brilliant combination of toys and distractions to get the perfect shots. Lisa also spent a very meaningful and extended time with me to make sure the pictures were perfect during and after the photo-shoot date.
