Love this place been coming since the 90s. The price is still on point for what you receive (better than anywhere else to see two movies and get food). The concession stand is great and selection you'd expect for a classic drive in. The pricing isn't awful for food either. I do miss the working audio but fully understand the heavy cost to replace and hoping they will get the money to keep it alive. Whenever we arrive it's always packed so make sure you get early for a spot and get tickets online if able. There is a slight surcharge for the online purchase. I do understand the need for balancing costs with adding a food permit payment. But just a heads up there is a food permit payment to bring in your own food but it's only about 6$ extra. Which is still worth the price savings compared to going to a big theatre. Even on their 5$ Tuesdays it doesn't match the price for here. read more

The rude, incompetent staff made us miss a movie we pre-paid for, and refused a refund. If I could rate lower, I would. Please note how positively I review other businesses regularly. We excitedly booked our first time to visit SkyView, as newer residents to the town. We paid to bring our own food in, packed a picnic, and we're stoked for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. We even watched the original that day. For the 8:30 showing, we were parked on the highway in a line before 8pm. The line was moving one car every 8-10 minutes. Slow getting in, so we figured the staff was having trouble. So slow, we assumed they'd hold off on starting the movie. Well, we turned the radio on at 8:35 and heard the movie start. Disappointing. I scoured the website and confirmation email and found nothing that said you have to arrive an hour in advance to get in. I screenshotted the site as well, so if it's changed now, I do have proof it did not. So I realize the email says no refunds or transfers, but we're STILL in line 30 more minutes into the movie. At this point, I don't want to watch the movie, so I figure, let's get to the front and talk to the girl working. Maybe we can transfer the ticket to tomorrow since it was so slow getting in. We got to the gate at 9:15. If you're tracking, it's 45+ minutes into the movie at this point, and we've been in line for an hour and fifteen minutes. From here, we can see the lot has tons of empty spaces. Weird - that there is still a line of cars behind us and the line has barely moved most tod the time - but there are still spaces open?! To me, this is poor planning and staffing. By 8:30, there should either be a full lot or no line left, if they are running their business decently. So I tell the girl kindly, we don't want to watch the movie anymore, since it's like half over and we prepaid so we'd like a refund. "We don't do refunds." "Sure. But we prepaid and have been in line since 8, and the move is almost half over. Can we transfer to another showing?" She proceeds to inform me no, and if I'm refusing to watch the movie I can leave, then says "we only have three people working, but I opened the booth at 7:30, so if you've been in line that long, you'd be in here." Meanwhile, she's fighting with the computer and receipt printer and asking another woman who had come in for help with it. (I want to note that technically the movie started at 8:19, and they say they open the gates 60-90 minutes ahead. If we're going to argue about policies... You didn't follow your own policies.) She acknowledged she had had a hard time and been slow, but didn't acknowledge that this wasn't my fault. I ask then why anyone would purchase in advance. It's apparently to hold your spot, but obviously that wasn't my experience. I was told that she "wasn't finnato go back and forth with me" and that I can call the number on the email. So, we drove through and left. I called the number to leave a message, which I had to listen through 3 minutes of recorded message to get to another phone number to call. I called and left a message, then texted the number. It has been almost 48 hours without response. I will gladly amend my review if the manager would like to resolve this. At this point, I will make it my mission for everyone to know about your refund policy and poor customer service. Crappy attitudes and lack of ownership of your business's shortcomings are a quick way to struggle and fail. Be a hard ass, sure, but do the right thing. If you're still reading this and I haven't convinced you not to go here, get there 2 hours early, DO NOT pay in advance, and keep your bar on the floor for customer service. read more

They have a rule where if you have a hatchback, you have to shut the trunk because it "blocks the view of others" even though there are plenty of trucks twice the size and vans with their trunks flying high in the air. It was a Tuesday and we drove 2 hours for this. There were plenty of spots, so we went in the back row to accompany others. The manager shined his light on us and raised his voice with an attitude telling us we couldn't be in the spot. He demanded we leave our spot because our trunk was blocking the view (even though we were back row) and was so set on this that he wanted us to move up and disturb the whole lot in the middle of the movie. I used to like this place but not anymore after their rude and inconsiderate management. Not coming back again. read more

My husband and I visited last night for the second time and had a great evening. We purchased our ticket in advance and got there right as they opened at 745 which was good because there was already a long line of cars waiting to get in. The staff at the ticketing area was super friendly and even this the line was long , things moved very quickly. We parked in the area for trucks and had a great view. The movie started right around 845 as promised. We visited the concession stand and bought dinner- a pork loin sandwich (huge, crisp and delicious), a hotdog (my husband said made him think of classic ball park hotdogs), soft pretzel, pizza and drink all for about $35. The owner driving around on his little golf cart was a bit abrasive but I understand he just wants everyone to be safe and have a good time. The best part is that they allow leashes pets so we took our dog with us. She napped peacefully in the bed of the truck all snuggled up with as we watched the movie. We drive about an hour to get there so it was nice to bring her so we didn't have to worry about getting home at any certain time. Overall, a super fun date night experience. read more

From the worker in the ticket booth to the workers in the concession stand, service was great! For the elderly man driving around on his golf cart, well he might want to take some lessons from the other employees. One review said he was the owner, I don't know. But if he is the owner he will surely drive away business quickly. My husband and I are both educated enough to know that when you are finished with your food containers or cups they go into a thing called a trash can and not thrown outside by your vehicle. This man drove by and asked my husband if he knew he had a styrofoam cup laying outside by his truck. Not ours! Was there when we pulled in. Went tonight for the triple feature. The was a first time experience for my 4 year old twins. Sadly it will be the last at this location. Pros: clean facilities, well marked parking areas, great location. Food was great. Cons: as many have said the golf cart cops are horrible. I was hassled 3 times tonight. First about a small citronella candle I had lit. Are you kidding me? Then I had to lower the hatch in my mini van. I did it once but it wasn't good enough for these guys. A second time and leaving the hatch open wasn't even an option. I've never experienced rudeness like this. We left after the first film and will never return. The owners need to relax and allow families to enjoy a movie. No wonder they are a thing of the past. read more

$8 for two movies for an adult? $4 for children 4-12? What a steal! The quality is now in high definition, so you get an awesome picture. What a hidden gem on the east side of Lancaster! Both times I've been, we've taken an SUV, so tall vehicles are not allowed in the best spots because they'll obstruct others' views. Next time I go (hopefully this weekend,) I'm driving my old car so I can park up front and center. So, up until a couple of weeks ago, I would've given this place a 5-star rating all day long. I grew up going here and have taken my own family here several times now. Been going here for at least 30 years. All of the sudden now, they are charging their customers money to bring THEIR OWN FOOD. This has been allowed forever, but now you have to pay money to do so. I respectfully voiced my opinion on a Facebook post of theirs once they announced it, and was almost instantly banned from commenting on any of their posts. I suggest going during the week or on a Sunday, Friday nights and Saturday nights, have an extremely long lines (usually) - however this place is great no matter what when you get past the gates. You certainly can't improve upon perfection! This theatre is definitely the star of Lancaster summers and something that is the epitome of the town. You have either been to the drive in or know someone who has. That being said, a few things of note: 1. Prices are great! They rival the traditional movie theaters in town. 2. Lines can be long to get in so pack up the car and head down early 3. Movies selections are good! They usually go with themes. One week its a family flick and a chick flick, the next its all horror, etc. As a final note, this is one of the few theaters in the country that has gone ahead and updated to digital. I'm so happy to see that Skyview was able to make the very expensive switch and I hope that this theater has many many more years of prosperous business. I would love nothing more than to take my children here when they are old enough! read more

My husband drug me to the Skyview a couple of weeks ago. To be honest I was kind of iffy about going. I hadn't been to a drive in since 1987. I pictured screaming kids, teenagers causing problems, and crappy sound and picture. I was so wrong! We saw Star Trek: Into Darkness, I was really pleased with the sound and picture quality. You have the option of using the old school speakers or you can have the sound come through nicely on your car stereo! Before the movie there were some kids playing and having fun, but nothing loud or chaotic, and once the movie started there were zero problems. Well, just one, we were next to a car full of smokers, but once we saw that was going to be a problem we just moved, problem solved. I would love to see this family friendly place become smoke free, but I know that's not likely to happen. The snack bar was great. Try the pork tenderloin! They have so many choices! Seriously, the menu is huge. I couldn't get over the prices. So very cheap by comparison to other theaters! My husband loves the fish sammich. Oh! and they even show the old intermission movie with the hot dog jumping into the bun. Super cute! We've been back a couple times now and we love it. Its our favorite "date night" spot, but really kid friendly too. They run a great business, I'm so glad we decided to check this place out. read more

Drove over 30 miles with two children and waited over an hour in line to get in. While in line we were told that they had 4 more spots and our car and the 3 cars behind is would get in. Once at the ticket entrance I handed the cashier my credit card only to be told that they "just" ran out of SUV spots and we would have to leave. We then had to exit through the lot , so that my crying children could get a first hand look at what they were missing.No apology, no offer of tickets for tomorrow night, nothing for the inconvenience.No customer service. Nothing. I have wasted my evening and have 2 children in tears. You would think this place would better anticipate demand or at a minimum have some sort of customer service. If you enjoy waiting in line for over and hour and want disappointed children and a waste of an evening this is your place otherwise STAY AWAY!! read more

Love this place. We come a few times each summer. Grab some snacks, chairs, and the radio. Come early and watch your kids run around in the grassy area with all te other kids. The concession stand is very reasonable. We prefer this to a movie theatre any day. Sometimes they even bring in a DJ before the movie to start a family friendly dance party. read more

She was told I called her a name and was confronted by her in front of my kids while cussing the f-and b-bomb all because we accidentally walked through the exit way. Clean place considering it is a drive in theater. It is summer so that means the car AC is needed which means the car needs to run for the AC to run oh and not to drain the car battery in some cars. Not everyone wants to or can sit outside. Some people have medical issues that makes it hard for them to be outside. Going to a drive in movie with the intention of sitting in your own sterile environment controlling your comfort is the reason for going. However this was a bad experience. Getting a bright ride flashlight in your eyes which is very rude and being told to turn off the car that your AC comfort is the least of their concern. This isn't the 80's where everyone goes and sits outside some people cannot and that needs to be taken into consideration. I will never bring my family again and I will make sure to spread the word on all social media platforms and verbally to anyone I know and meet. Redbox will continue to get my business it is way cheaper anyway. Oh and I am disputing the transactions since I couldn't complete my purchase due to you discriminating against me about using my car AC which my medical issues require me having cold air and also AC requires my car to run and to use this is a brand new century not the 60's. It cannot just be about those sitting outside you need a sign that says there may be exhaust fumes from running cars but then again that's common sense. If you have a van, SUV, etc. or a large family and want to sit in a lawn chair - you have been warned. The "rules" state that you cannot be off the single, solitary parking spot you are in. So if you can fit 5 lawn chairs in front of your mini van you are OK. But if all the spaces around you are empty, and you have the shear audacity to sit 5 wide, with elbow room, prepare to be scolded. We have been wanting to venture out to Skyview for years and tried it last night. I am only bummed that we haven't went before. It was fantastic. Because it was a Tuesday, I didn't know how early we would need to arrive. We got there around 8:15p.m. which was plenty early during the week. The first movie started shirtly after 9 p.m. I had not been to a drive-in since I was a young child, 25 yeargs ago or so. With the hubs at work, I decided to go try it with the kids by myself. It cost myself ($7), my 7 year old ($3), and my 3 yr old (FREE!) a total of $10 at the gate. They show TWO movies, making this a much better value than the theatre at the River Valley Mall. There are designated areas for larger vehicles which allows you to enjoy the movie no matter what you drive. The man attending the lot was a little strict but I can appreciate this. It makes the place operate smoothly and keeps it the great place it is, I'm sure. I (as well as the lady beside me) had not backed into our spots far enough. He let us know. No big deal. Hatches are allowed to be open but can be no higher than your car. I ( as well as the SAME lady beside me) weren't aware of this. We were visited again by the man on the golfcart who provided me with twine to lower it a few inches. Again, no big deal. The concession stand was quite a little gem, itself. The most expensive item on the menu was a "12 pep pizza at $7.50. We were handed a full page menu at the gate. A FEW items include: 1/4 lb cheeseburgers ($2.50), pork tenderloin, shredded chicken, fishtail, beef bbq, hotdogs ($1.50), corn dogs, pizzas, french fries, nachos ($3.50), pretzels, cheese sticks, fried mushrooms, chicken tenders, onion rings, funnel cakes, candy and popcorn. They also offer any novelty ice cream you could want as well as hand dipped cones. We brought food and a small cooler, which is allowed. We did try the large (huge!) tub of popcorn for $4.50. I still get excited about that deal a day later! A few things to know before you go: No outside pizza boxes are allowed and no alcohol. You are allowed to sit in chairs or on blankets (I wouldn't recommend this as the entire lot is gravel) as long as they dont extend past the width of your car. One other thing...I knew we would only be staying for the first movie and was a little concerned about being rude leaving between the two. It is no big deal at all, I joined many other vehicles that were leaving between! read more

Took my family (husband, 2-year-old son, and 7-year-old son) to see a movie tonight. Overall it was a good time. However, the line to get in consisted of 10 minutes of sitting along side a busy road (literally on the burm). I think there has to be a better way to make this safe for families and traffic. Also, we drive a Kia Soul which they treated like an SUV and we had to park as such. The security visited us twice, once to move our vehicle closer to the speaker and once to close our trunk. No big deal really, but still a bit petty and I didn't see that consistently as there was a mini van in the front row with there hatch up (higher than the vehicle) and they were not met by security. Lastly, the movie started about 10 minutes late- for me I feel like if the owners want to be so strict with rules they should also be strict with their schedule. Otherwise the funnel cake was good, popcorn not so much. Restrooms were decent. read more
