These guys were great. I got a quick quote. They got the job done on time and on budget. Would definitely use them again.

A JOB WELL DONE We…read morehave a long concrete driveway that curves up a hill to our home. The driveway is 47 years old and was in need of repairs to the driveway and to replace a low curved concrete wall on one side of the driveway, which was badly damaged by time and a large truck. From the Yelp website, I selected 3 five-star contractors for bids to repair the driveway. I'm in my late eighties and handicapped, but in my younger days I worked in construction starting back in 1952 as an apprentice carpenter. I have worked on many projects where I built forms to pour concrete for homes, high rise buildings, and underground tunnels. I have also worked on cementing casing in oil wells as deep as two miles and I have personally poured and finished concrete at my own home. So needless to say, I know a lot about concrete and construction in general. Now that I'm too old and crippled up to work, I'm always apprehensive when I have to hire men to work for me. All too often you get people who lack the skill and experience to do a proper job and often, they don't care how the job turns out. Then they leave behind a mess for the homeowner to clean up. When Oswaldo Minez came to look the job over prior to submitting a bid, I was very impressed with his knowledge and attitude. He told me he was the son of a father and son business and that was my background as well until my father's early death at a young age. The bid from Minez Concrete was the lowest bid and I gave them the contract. A few days later they called to say they had an unscheduled delay in their next job and they could begin work at our home. Oswaldo said they would show up at 7 AM and to my surprise the crew arrived right on time and every day thereafter. Oswaldo's father, Ramon is in charge of the actual work and I could tell right from the start that Ramon is an old school craftsman. He has trained his crew to be competent workers. Too often companies in southern California show up with a boss, who doesn't know what he is doing, and untrained men hired to work by the day. Not the Minez Company, their men are professional workers, who know their craft. On several occasions I have hired people and had to stand there all day making sure the job was done right and sometimes pitching in myself to do the job. After watching the Minez crew for a short time, I knew we were in good hands and I went back into the house. Every time I came out to observe progress there was Ramon supervising his men while working beside them to give us a first-rate job. The repairs all turned out beautifully and several people have commented upon how nice the driveway looks. To be honest, I wasn't expecting the work to go so smoothly and quickly. It was such a surprise and relief to be treated so well with a beautiful result. Oswaldo kept us informed regarding progress and his suggestions and those of Ramon contributed greatly to the final outcome. If you want a first-class experience at a fair price then hire Minez Concrete. They know what they are doing and they do the job right for a fair price. In today's world, that is rare.

They did such a piss poor job, failed the inspection and had so many complaints that the county stopped payment to them. They came back in May to grind down (butcher) the top layer of asphalt they previously poured and sprayed a coating of tack seal and left for the day. They posted no signs to stay off the wet road, allowing hundreds, if not thousands of cars to drive through the coating, tracking it everywhere (including about 50 driveways up and down the road). SD county works was notified of the problem but has failed to enforce the corrections. The road looks worse then ever. This company came to our neighborhood and essentially took a sh!t on our front doors. This company should not get another job.

Alright, I gotta say that I'm the kind of person that is very skeptical of contractors in general…read more I'm always afraid of the pricing game, delayed timelines and raised eyebrows at broken promises. So when I first met Alfonso at Green Paradise, I already had my guard up and ready to deduct "points" for everything he's about to and going to do wrong. I had Alfonso come out to my house to give me an estimate on building a fence and redesigning my front yard. This is how it all went down, blow by blow. Round 1: The meet and greet - Arrived on time at my house like he said he would (+1 point) - Took shoes off before coming into my house (+1 point) - Asked me what I wanted and suggested alternatives (+1 point) Round 2: The estimate -Actually took time to measure and calculate angle of elevation for materials (+2 points) (Come on, you gotta give the guy extra points for that!) -Within three days, came back with three different design suggestions and price models based on our conversation (+1 point) Round 3: The execution -Started the job as promised and arrived at the job site on-time as promised (+1 point) -Kept me informed of the project as it went along via text, email and in-person (+1 point) -Made sure I was happy with each step of the process before moving to the next step. (+1 point) -Finished on time as promised and as expected. (+1 point) Final Round: The closeout I gotta say that after working with Alfonso @ Green Paradise for two of my major projects, I cannot work with anybody else. His professionalism, design skills and communications are impeccable. He truly keeps his word to his customers and bends over backwards to make sure you're happy with the work. Alfonso is a man that cares about his reputation and craftsmanship. In fact, he won me over so much, Green Parasdise now does my monthly landscape maintenance too! There was a lot of weeds and overgrown trees, which we wanted to replace with concrete. I had various jobs for him over a two week period. Manuel was great from start to finish. He came quickly for our first estimate for landscaping, and the value was great. His pricing was fair. Him and his crew worked quickly to get the landscaping work done in our backyard - clearing weeds, removing a large guava tree and smaller fruit tree, trimming trees, and cutting ice plants. I was so happy with their work I asked if they could clean our palm trees. The price again was great and they did it in a few hours. After that, I worked with him to get concrete laid in our backyard. The price for concrete was very reasonable. Him and his crew worked efficiently but with quality to get the concrete in our backyard. The whole concrete process took 3 days and I couldn't be happier with the final product. I also had some side projects they completed during their time here - removing a metal shed and replacing a patio cover. Manuel was always great communicating with me and his work was excellent. I would highly recommend using Manual for your landscaping projects and will be using him in the future!
