i'm writing this review in hopes of alerting anyone who thinks coming to this salon is a good…read morechoice. please don't come here unless you want your hair botched, your long hair to be cut up to your shoulders and receive a hairstyle you never asked for. i HAD long thick hair and have gone to other alt hairstylists before that had no problem working with my hair. I did my best to reach out to the stylist Oche and the salon manager Jenny but was met with condescension and a HUGE lack of accountability. i came in on 08/14 for a haircut with Oche and prior to our appointment i let them know the hairstyle i wanted and the length, never did they communicate that the style was out of their skill set. the day of the appointment i showed them the inspo pics again and i agreed to a length approximately 4inches under my shoulder which would be to my mid back. from then they began cutting my hair and i did not bother them or try to micromanage their work as i trusted they would be able to give me the style i asked for. after cutting my hair they did a blow out and showed me what it looked like, i was initially shocked but i thought since it was styled i could wash it out when i got home and see what it truly looked like. despite the cut not being what i asked for, i thought if i gave myself the day to live in it, it might change how i felt, as i didn't want to have to reach out and complain about it. i spent all day crying over my hair and i truthfully feel so ugly in this cut. its nowhere near what i asked for. i politely reached out to receive a refund (((((which included a $15 dollar tip that is automatically selected, you'd have to unselect and input an amount yourself. which i didn't realize because i was so shocked about my hair i just wanted to leave.)))) and the salon manager told me: "my hair is down to my a**, i would be upset too but all we can do is let it grow out", they asked me to come back in to add texture to the blunt cut but that's not a solution to my length being gone and i do not feel comfortable going back so that they can further ruin my hair. they refuse to offer a refund despite them giving me a drastically different haircut than what i asked for. the stylist nor the salon would even apologize or simply take accountability for their mistake. they continue to avoid acknowledging the fact that they did not provide the service i asked for, instead they both continue to deflect by saying that i left saying i was happy and could have spoken out before leaving. yes that's true but like i said, i wanted to at least try to like the haircut even though it wasn't what i asked for, because i wanted to avoid this. i understand mistakes are made but there is no real effort to rectify the situation on their part. a refund would be the least they could offer as they have cut off several inches of my hair that i cant get back. please never come here, I've never experienced anything so horrible and Unprofessional and have gone to other alt hairstylists that are capable, knowledgeable and compassionate. please avoid. i've attached the inspo pics i showed the stylist Oche when i messaged them through instagram and when i showed them again in person before they began botching my hair. i asked for layers at a mid length. we both agreed on a length so i don't know how we went from what we agreed to, to a length above my shoulders. the bangs do not even look like the inspiration either. the following 2 pictures is what they gave me. no where near what i asked for. and the last picture is what my hair looked like before this mess. i hope no one ever has to go through this and i hope that stylist Oche and salon manager Jenny learn to take accountability for their huge mistakes. please never cut anyone's hair again and find a new profession! @ochedoeshair @pureelegancestudios
