We have used Slade glass for 3 installations and been happy with their work and charges. However, they have changed recently. We recently asked them to remove the shower glass so that the shower tile could be redone, and then come back afterward and reset the same glass. The first part of the job took 30 minutes. Resetting took another hour and a half. We were charged $550. Labor only. No parts. That is $225/hr. When we objected, they wouldn't budge. They said they also charged for the driving time. Since when do repair companies charge labor charges for driving to yoir home? We live 10 minutes from Boulder or Longmont. I will not use them again. They are no longer a company I trust. read more

Brian came to our office on November 8th to do an assessment for a glass door and provide a quote; said we would have a quote from their project manager within the next week. Never received the quote. Went to their Longmont office on December 17th and met with their project manager, who apologized profusely. Paraphrased: "Sorry, it was just sitting on my desk, I don't know how I missed it. I'll get it to you in the next ten minutes." Confirmed email address and all contact information from the original assessment sheet. Did not receive the quote in the next ten minutes (or ever.) On December 31st, 2 weeks since the last meeting and almost 8 weeks since the original assessment, we still do not have a quote. Called this morning at 10:04 am and spoke with Rebecca, who said the project manager was in a meeting but would get on it "soon," who then hung up on me abruptly when I asked if it would be by noon or some other time today. Called back again before close of business at 3:40 pm, reached Rebecca again, who said the project managers were out for the day, then said she could leave a message with them to follow up after New Years Day. Began to express my frustration that they don't seem interested in actually providing a quote and have misrepresented their timeline for providing one multiple times and she hung up on me mid sentence. Utterly incompetent and dishonest people, will never do business with them. read more

I have been a customer for years and happy with the service. However, the current counter help has a terrible attitude. Not knowledgeable and very unfriendly. Said I had to come back in 2 hrs for an estimate, even if I was happy without one, and was willing to leave a large deposit. Since I live out of town, I simply could not wait the 2 hrs. In the past the counter help could always give an estimate and take the deposit while I waited. The deal breaker was when the rude lady at the counter told me to go to Hillcrest Glass. I wonder if the owner Slade Glass knows she is doing this. read more

Zero stars for Slade customer service. Purchased a storm door from them and have had nothing but problems with it. Slade service tech was out last year and told me the door wasn't hung properly to begin with and the only thing they offered me was a brand new door at my cost. Now the door has blown completely inwards off of the frame and I can't even open it. If you can help it, don't use Slade as they are unresponsive and not knowledgeable about the products they sell. read more

Horrible customer service and communication. Quoted 2 weeks after measurement. Had to call to get updates and push the process through. Measurement had to be redone, even though we asked for the two types of shower enclosures be quoted. Proposal was delayed. Should have stopped here, but relied on previous Yelp reviews Glass took longer than quoted and installation was scheduled much later than quoted. Had to press for earlier installation then they broke the glass. Who knows if the really broke the glass or if they just had a higher dollar installation come up. I cancelled and they did process a refund. read more

They arrived at 8:10 a.m. in the morning and completed the job at about 3:10 p.m. They did a very nice job installing the windows and cleaned up the areas inside and outside. Recently I had a vehicle in front of me kick up a rock and take a nice chunk out of my windshield. The crack was about the size of silver dollar. This company got me in the next day and did an excellent job fixing the hole/crack. I called around and they were the cheapest. The repair was only $50. My insurance unfortunately did not cover the repair which is why I had to call around for a good price. I would definitely come back to this location for future repairs. Poor communication. I called Slade Glass for a time-sensitive window repair related to a real estate transaction. I called 11 days before my "deadline" by which I needed to get the repair done. I was told by receptionist that turn around time would be 5-7 days, I was relieved that there was enough time. She scheduled the measurement for two days out, took down my information, access instructions and the lockbox combo to get into the house. Well the technicians got to the house at the scheduled time, but the receptionist had apparently forgotten to give them the lockbox combo (or they neglected to look at their notes?). Rather than calling me for the combo, they just gave up and moved on to the next job. They never notified me that they had failed to access the property. I called the next day to see what my estimate was going to be, and she filled me in on the situation and said they would send the technicians back out that very same day. Again, no call, no contact, and apparently they did not make it the second day either. That was a Friday. So by the following Monday enough time had passed that it would not be possible to meet our deadline. When I called on Monday morning, she had no clue what the current status of my job was and was only able to tell me that "it's too late now." Things that should have happened to correct this situation: 1) Receptionist should have given my access notes to the technicians 2) Technicians should have called me (or at least the front office) when they couldn't access property 3) Barring #2, someone should have called me by the end of the business day to inform me they didn't get out to the property, I should not have to call for status updates when they clearly had a problem. 4) They should have some process in place to expedite a job when they have clearly boned it up at no fault of the customer. Bottom line, a simple one-minute phone call would have saved this job and saved me real headaches related to my real estate transaction. I'm still in the trenches of this transaction, if Slade Glass can rectify the situation, I will come back and edit the review. read more

The repair man arrived exactly on schedule. He was professional, courteous and efficient. We had a slight mix up with the schedule on the previous day, but this was not a major inconvenience. I am not sure how to compare the price since I don't have to replace my garage door windows very often. I would definitely use Slade again. read more

I own Rallo's Window Cleaning and I've been going to Slade Glass for 10 years now. I've called a few other glass company's before I found Slade Glass. Sometimes my customers ask me to get glass fixed for them so I personally take it in to Slade. I've been to both locations and I always find very nice, helpful people who do their best to help me. Also their prices for repair work are very good! The last time I took a storm pane in they actually finished the work and called me to pick it up before that workday was over!! And even-thought I'm around windows 5 days a week I still don't know everything about glass. But when I'm in there office they really take the time to explain to me all of my options so I can make an educated decision when getting glass replaced so I don't spend money unnecessarily. My experience dealing with Slade Glass Longmont was excellent overall, beginning with Steve who helped me brainstorm what was needed and who correctly measured my windows for replacement glass, to Corrie who helped me place and pay for my order, to Steve and Brandon who installed the glass at my little condo. Even though my order wasn't huge, they took the time and care to do the job right making sure everything was working well before they left. Ken & Kenny came to replace 5 large (42x76) windows that had been in place for almost 60 years. They arrived at 8:30am to get started, theses windows were a challenge but they worked tirelessly to do all of the windows in one day. They did and excellent job and were a pleasure to deal with in all aspects of the job. i would rate this company and their star employees A#1 and would suggest them to anyone whom needs windows. The technician Jeff that came out to my home to fix some stuck / hard to operate windows looked at everything and said, "These are under a lifetime warranty from the original manufacturer. Give them a call and they'll come out and fix everything." To be clear, Jeff still spent a solid hour in my home going through the 5-6 problem windows I have. He educated me, guided me, and charged me nothing. He easily could've said, "Yep, I'll do it, here's the estimate." But instead he went the path of saving me money, probably several hundred dollars. I think this anecdote is indicative of the company as a whole: honest; intelligent; and reputable. If I ever have other work to be done, I'll be calling Slade. read more

Ken and Kenny replaced a window for me and I am so impressed with the customer service I received. The guys showed up right on time and Kenny went out of his way to re-roll a screen that was coming apart and replaced bumpers on a glass shelf (not part of the job). They were professional, helpful and courteous. I went with Slade after receiving a second estimate that was $150 higher. I highly recommend them. read more
