Austin, Keith, and the entire team genuinely care and want to ensure that your problem gets resolved. We were unfortunately caught in the intense crossfire of finger pointing between the county and SLAM. We don't know anything about how these things work, but we felt so confident in Keith's work and abilities that we knew he must be telling us the truth. In the end, SLAM took responsibility for something that was the County's fault and made it clear that their priority was making sure that we had a solution for our issue regardless of fault. We didn't seek multiple opinions or bids so I'm sure sure if it is a good value, but in the end, we would rather pay more to ensure the work is done properly, unlike whoever worked on the plumbing in the house we bought. I wish this on no one... but if you are in a position where you need complex plumbing work done on your house, we wholeheartedly recommend SLAM. read more

We bought a grand old house that unfortunately had crumbling old cast iron sewer lines buried under the basement floor. We had a less-than-awesome experience a couple years ago with a different plumber working on one section of the sewer line, so we did a lot of research before hiring Slam to handle a major repair for us. This is the only company I will ever use! I had a toilet that started to need the handle to be held to flush. I called Slam, whom I had used a couple times before, and after a quick visit, they got it to work but said I'd likely need to replace the toilet soon. I felt uneasy about this since the toilet was less than 10 years old. So I asked them for a second opinion. To sum up, it took a few visits, but I did need a new toilet, and they were so patient and professional the whole way. My parents needed their water line for the washer and dryer opened back up after it'd been capped and sealed off. Mason, of Slam Plumbing, went above and beyond to locate a clog that was further than the pea trap. He then inspected all the pipes in the house to ensure nothing else was clogged anywhere based on the level of clog/debris they found. SLAM did a good job replacing my leaking service line and replacing my old water heater. They had a better price than the other guys and did the job quickly and with minimal fuss. Jace was polite, friendly and explained what he was doing. Jace + SLAM impressed me with their integrity. A small piece of the job (an emergency drain pan) had been forgotten. Jace called me to point it out (before I had even noticed!) and came to fix it free a few days later. That's not cheap and it would've been easier just to overlook it, but Jace/SLAM did the right thing. I would happily use SLAM again. read more

In DeKalb County, needed some plumbing work done under our kitchen sink and this company came very highly recommended from a friend. Once we'd agreed to Slam Plumbing's estimate (which was pretty reasonable, in my opinion) we scheduled the job's day and time. On the day of, the plumber showed up right on schedule, knew exactly what to do, did it, I paid him, and on his way he went. Granted, it wasn't the most complicated plumbing job in the world, but the whole experience was remarkably hassle-free and we felt as if we'd gotten a pretty good deal for the money, which becoming less and less common in this day and age. 5/5 would use their service again, would definitely recommend. read more

SLAM's scheduler was clear and efficient, accommodating my non-emergency but tight timeframe. Jace arrived just before he was due, he explained what to expect and what could go wrong, he finished in a reasonable amount of time, and his sink installation (which involved very old plumbing and a lathed wall) seems to have been successful. There was an initial miscommunication about the task which resulted in an overcharge, but the extra amount was promptly and cheerfully refunded. The final charge was within the range of expected charges for traditional sink installation published on the This-Old-House website. SLAM will stay on my go-to service list. read more

Not impressed. Called them to fix my disposal and running toilet. Almost $700 later, the disposal works ok but the toilet is still running, but now it also doesn't flush sometimes. Inner workings were replaced ($250 for this part of the job) with what looks like the cheapest ($21 at Lowe's) parts. The rubber stopper is so flimsy, it gets caught on the edge of the drain, and toilet keeps running. Tried a quicker flip of the handle but then it doesn't flush. Called to tell them the problem and have someone sent out to fix it but I was going to have to wait 5 days. They were clearly not interested in standing by their work. Given the lack of support and follow up of the initial job, and apparent treating of this as if it were a new job, I was not interested in throwing good money after bad so decided to cancel the new appointment. Should have just tried to fix it myself since I'm having to do that anyway. read more

Days later, when they came out again to quote the fix for the repair, another $50 service charge and quoted over 3k for what we had another company do for $800, including sheet rock, painting etc., all in which we're not included in SLAMs quote. I have never been so pleased with a service I was not expecting before. My hot water stopped working overnight and I posted in a neighborhood page, they were quick to respond, came out immediately and installed a new water tankless water heater after my ancient water heater rusted completely through. Austin and Logan were professional, friendly, nice and explained everything along the way and cleaned up after themselves. They were open and upfront about everything, I'm almost looking forward to having the company coming back out to perform some other necessary work. I found this company highly recommended in my neighborhood group - he said he'd come today at 10 am, 10 min before I confirmed and he said he wouldn't come til afternoon which we couldn't do. I was disappointed in lack of communication. After I said we really needed someone today, he had someone come - who said it was $205 just to step in the door. We were desperate and agreed then he called his teammate while my husband was in the house (on speaker phone) and told him that I had "been bitching at him all morning". That is so unprofessional on so many levels. Do not recommend! He spoke about me in a negative manner on speaker phone, was not forthcoming about his pricing and also lied about when he was going to show up. Please, don't support this behavior. read more

Fantastic experience from the beginning! After three pipe bursts in less than a year, we we were looking to replace all of the faulty piping in our house (every single bit). It was quite a large job. We called the plumbers we had used for the last three leaks, and when they could not take on the large project, they recommended Slam Plumbing.
