Having eaten in France and South Africa, I can assure you that this little bakery's products rival the very best in the world. His chocolate croissants are incredible. His pastries with fruit (e.g. blueberries added) are also amazing. Be prepared for a long line, but it's worth it. What an improbable, magical bakery oasis in San Angelo. We read the reviews online--we figured it would be good, but our snob-factor said it wouldn't be great. So happy to be dead wrong. We got here around 9:00ish on Saturday morning and there were only a few people in front of us, but by the time that we got there, he was out of the pistachio-chocolate croissants. A-L-A-S!!! We settled on the turkey-pesto-cheese, a vanilla bun, and an almond croissant. The space is tiny, so obviously there's no room to sit and we took our treats to a nearby playground. GOOD GOLLY, these are delicious baked goods. Hashtag impressed. It's better than any bakery we've been to in Austin and as good as Common Bond in Houston (original location, before they expanded and went downhill). The almond one was just *slightly* overcooked, but the filling was incredible. The vanilla bun was simple and elegant and perfect. Loved the savory one as well. We're still thinking about them all two days later...! The guy working was super friendly and not in any kind of rush and was patient with our daughter since she was out of her mind with sugary anticipation excitement. Only (minor complaint): provide napkins! Build it into the cost if you need to, but those should be included in your to-go bag. Anyway, this is a San Angelo miracle shop. You are a true artisan and compare to bakeries in Seattle, Austin, or any major city. To have this in San Angelo shows how much this city has grown over the last 5 years. I don't understand how this place is in San Angelo. It taste like your transported to France. Every single thing we've tried has been exceptional. From classic plains to vanilla knots, to savory lime turkey and Brie. My very favorite is the almond. He sells out early so get there before 9. read more

Wow! This place is just amazing. I am so glad we found this place while visiting family during Thanksgiving. This is a gem for San Angelo and the West Texas area. I have lived in Dallas, Atlanta, and Boston and traveled all over the US and Europe. This place is up there with some of my favorite pastry shops. This place does not have a huge selection. However, everything is fantastic and lovingly made. We had the almond croissant, chocolate croissant, pistachio chocolate croissant, apple strudel danish, and a spiced cranberry danish. All were fantastic. They have a couple savory pastries as well. They looked great; however, we did not try them. The spiced cranberry danish style pastry was the most interesting of the 5 pastries and absolutely amazing. Their almond croissant was probably the second best I have had in the U.S. The chocolate and chocolate pistachio croissants were perfectly made as well. The prices of $2.50 to 4.50 per pastry may seem a little high for west Texas. However they are actually very reasonable for what you get. I have paid $6-8 for single pastries no where near this high of quality. Everything is worth whatever the owner is charging. If you are in San Angelo and looking for top quality pastries, you must come here. Note that you must come early as people are lined up before he opens. He bakes a limited number of items each day and sells out as early as 8:30 on some days and as late as 10:30. read more

I cannot praise this place highly enough. I've lived in Europe twice, and this place is right up there. Be prepared to get there early, and be prepared to wait. And then be prepared to die happy. We tried the fruit pastry, croissant, chocolate croissant, spinach/feta croissant, and the cinnamon roll.
