Slap Burger in Bay Ridge was average to my tastes, but service was good and friendly. I visited a Sunday afternoon, while Brazil was taking an L against Norway. This Slap Burger has a giant flatscreen, which does not seem setup for the World Cup only and seems great for a change of atmosphere one ordinarily would expect at a fast food burger spot. The menu is a little different for me and not altogether easy to interpret the way it is laid out. So I asked the young woman at the register to place an order for a double cheeseburger with bacon and everything on it to simplify it, along with an order of fries and their C&C cola. The taste of the burger was nothing extraordinary in my opinion, especially in a City with so many choice and highly competitive burger offerings. This was like so many smashed burgers that are all the rage these days. I have not been generally impressed by smashed burgers, so this review is admittedly biased. This offered little to no caramelized edges, which would be one of the big positives for a smashed burger. The slap sauce, which seems to be mustard and mayo with finely minced and blended relish as best I can tell, did not make the case either. The slap sauce was good, but it did not cause me to write home about it. They definitely give you bacon to justify the upcharge, but the cheese was lost in the slap sauce. The fries had a nice fluffy interior, but were not that crispy outside. The fries were good, but ketchup is needed. The C&C cola was quite good. This is a clean location with good service and no real negatives. People of all walks were walking in. It's popular. For $18 and change cash, it's a decent value, especially if you have children. If you have a mature palate looking for the best burger experience, this is not it. 3.3 stars read more

We ordered take out and found that even after reheating that burgers were just okay. I enjoyed that they weren't too greasy but was missing the wow factor from the sauce. We also ordered the chicken tenders which were crunchy but a bit dry. Wish they made their own ranch and honey mustard which would've definitely made for a more memorable experience. read more

This is a new halal version of a chain burger spot in Bay Ridge. I tried their standard burger, and it turned out to be a pretty solid burger. It turned to be a smash burger, but if you have never had Slap Burger before, you probably would not known from the menu just calling it a "slap burger". The sauce is great, and they even give you extra on the side, which I really appreciated, especially since I did not order any sides. It tastes a bit like Chick fil A sauce, which most people can agree is pretty hard to beat. You also have the option to add grilled onions and mushrooms, and I would definitely recommend getting them. The burger looks a little messy at first glance, but the bread is soft and buttery and actually holds everything together really well. The dine in space is also very spacious, with booths and seating along the walls only. That layout was a nice touch in my opinion since it makes the space feel much more open instead of trying to cram in as much seating as possible. read more

I only ordered from here once via DoorDash (it was late night) & the food was so horrible that I wouldn't even give it a second chance. The burger was cooked so weirdly, the meat was weird & not flavorful, the cheese was melted so poorly in a glob (it looked like snot), & the fries were like wet cardboard and really white for some reason. Like, not real fries. I ordered a double slap burger with jalapeños. The first bite was delish. Meat seems fresh. Tasty. I notice on the send bite, the meat isn't seasoned but that doesn't seem to be a problem once I taste the slap sauce. The bun is perfectly soft. Although a smash style, the burgers are missing the crispy edges. Still definitely worth it tho. In the future I'd order a burger there with extra sauce. I'd give this a 8 out of 10! read more

After going to the movies, this was one of the only places nearby that was still open so we decided to stop by. So glad we did. First, we were greeted with a warm welcome and all the staffs were super nice. It was our first time so the cashier gave us multiple suggestions which helped a lot. She was very knowledgeable and extremely patient. We got the SLAP'N MELT, SLAP'N JACK and CHICKEN SANDWICH. While we were waiting for our burgers, she gave us lemonade to try. It was the perfect sweetness and tartness. I'm in love with this place already. LOL. The burger itself is pretty basic. Maybe slightly on the bland side which I actually like. I prefer under salted patties than overly salted. What made it good is their Slap Sauce. It adds instant depth to the flavor. However, I have to say the star of the night was the Chicken Sandwich. The coleslaw in the Chicken Sandwich was amazing! Adds layers of flavor and texture. This was probably the best Chicken Sandwich I've had in my recent memory. Move over Popeye and Chick-fil-A. I was at this place today & ordered 2 slap burgers 2 French fries & 1 coleslaw. The place was busy earlier & had to wait for my order for several minutes. I specifically asked for extra onions & extra pickles & no cheese on both burgers. It was all on the order ticket & my bill. But instead NO onions & NO pickles on both burgers.
