I had an appointment with Dr. Hassid requesting treatment for Chronic Sleep Apnea. I brought two…read moreovernight sleep lab reports and he wrote the Rx for the CPAP machine. Then his staff REFUSED to make just one quick phone call to Lincare to get the Rx filled. It took six phone calls on my part to eventually force the staff to do their job. My appointment was October 23rd and it was not until October 31st that the staff finally broke down and grudgingly agreed to do one four minute phone call to get the Durable Medical Equipment Rx filled. Dr. Eric Hassid's medical assistant Ladill is incompetent and lazy. She kept insisting I had to call Lincare to get the Rx filled and it was "not in her job description to do this". When I tried to explain to her that Durable Medical Equipment suppliers do NOT deal directly with patients she kept insisting "do it yourself". Basically, I was thrown under the bus. She has very poor communication skills and lacks "active listening skills". I spent one hour with Dr. Eric Hassid during my appointment. 50% of the session was regarding getting the CPAP machine for Chronic Sleep Apnea. The other 50% of the session was discussing 20 years of severe chronic pain I experience from when I was rear ended by a 10 ton UPS truck at 60 mph. Dr. Eric Hassid never bothered to even mention that Sutter Health has a chronic pain management support program and he did not bother to give me any semblance of a treatment plan for this medical condition. After my appointment ended, I picked up a brochure at the front desk which explained the variety of services this clinic offers. It was only by accident that I discovered Sutter Health DOES OFFER chronic pain management services. What Dr. Eric Hassid actually DID do was hand me a list of over $200 of vitamins/supplements he sells in the reception area of his office. Is he a vitamin/supplement pill salesman - or is he practicing medicine and providing patient care appropriate to his client's needs? His staff is incompetent, especially his medical assistant. Both Ladill and Sarah told me on the phone "it is not my job description to make one four minute phone call to get your Durable Medical Equipment prescription filled, do it yourself". This is in direct violation of the well established protocol for obtaining Durable Medical Equipment. Optigen, Apria, Lincare DO NOT EVER deal directly with patients - any more than a patient could walk into a pharmacy and ask for Rx medication without FIRST the doctor creating a prescription. I was "thrown under the bus" by this clinic. My primary care doctor at Dignity Health left his job a few months ago, and moved out of town. I was going to enroll with Sutter Health for a brand new primary care doctor but NO WAY would I do that, nor would I ever go back to this clinic for follow up care. It functions as a vitamin pill/supplement retail store NOT patient care. I was "thrown under the bus". Badly done! I was Dr. Eric Hassid's patient when he had his own clinic in Davis, back around 2006. It was not Sutter Health - and there was more cohesion in treatment plans and the staff was excellent at the old Davis clinic. I think Sutter Health is a "Hot Mess" with inept, substandard lack of rudimentary communication skills, poorly trained staff who lack a work ethic and do not want to lift a finger to help patients. None of the staff at this clinic during my first visit told me there was a Patient Portal online that I needed to register in. I only discovered this on my own efforts. Nobody gave me the It should NOT have taken SIX phone calls over the course over ten days to have a very simple task performed by the staff of this office.

Staffed well, very thorough and professional. I love sleeping with a fan and they immediately made the accommodation. A little misleading by saying to prepare for a normal nighttime routine, because I was told I couldn't wear my AirPods or watch tv on my phone longer than 20-30min. It didn't feel like I could get comfortable how I normally do at home, but I understand. I was also asked to remove my nose ring and septum, which was not communicated on any of my phone calls. Just a thought to potentially include in preparation conversations since there is a list for prep and hygiene.

I had 3 TBI's, have suffered with anxiety (getting worse with age, I'm 63), depression for all most all my life and in the past 2 years trouble with memory and processing information. Dr. Teurman mapped my brain to see what was going on. I was not shocked but, it was clearly not working correctly. I had recently had a brain MRI and went to the neurologist. He did see the TBI (the worst one) but, said I have no trouble with memory (I very much did) but, in his defense the structure of my brain was ok and as well as the main parts that are responsible for memory. He just did a quick test for memory and looked at the scans and if he would've spent a day with me he would've seen how much trouble I was having. So this is how I ended up at Brain Health Clinic to take my brain health into my own hands. Anyway, after she mapped my brain she saw that it was like a traffic jam in my brain. Best way to describe it was like all the information goes to the center but, gets stuck and the information can't go down the normal routes for me to process. I also have very low energy in my frontal lobes. My brain was very resistant to treatment but, she knew exactly what to do. I have improved greatly with the information processing but, my frontal lobes only improved a little bit. So, I am finished with treatment and will probably have more testing (functional medicine) to find out what could be contributing to the low energy in the frontal lobes and get them working better. It's like peeling back the layer of an onion, you just keep going. Frustrating at times but I'm not giving up when I've come this far. I can't thank her enough for helping me as I couldn't keep living like this. What is very important is that you do not miss any of your appointments and take this seriously if you want to improve. Do everything she tells you to do (which may be hard like changing your diet if you've not been eating very well at all and take supplements to support your brain and body). This treatment very much worked for me and I would recommend Dr. Teurman to anyone!

I suffer from Brain Injury, Childhood Trauma and ADHD-like symptoms…read more After doing 40 sessions, some sessions in office and most of the rest of the sessions at home, I would say that the results were below expectations. The in-office services were good but to save money I opted for the at-home "kit". After 40 sessions (Dec - April) at home I was getting fatigued with the process; it is very, very long. Although the doctors proclaimed how great I was doing, the computer's results were all over the board. The suggested good score is to eventually train up to a focus of 60%. My results were always mixed with 17%, 30%,11%, 41%, 29%, 51%, 24%, 22% etc... So I dunno. I never saw consistency in improvement with the numbers. The numbers were always way up and then down and then way down and then in the middle. Be very, very weary of any discounts or deals, make sure to verbally ask and even then have them write it out for you or make them give you a paper discount code. Unfortunately I trusted the website's list of services (which I should be able to trust what the website says) which states that for the $850 package you get a basic "Brain Map" QEEG and Verbal report findings which includes subsequent maps once 30+ sessions are purchased. Apparently AFTER I have paid more than $4,000 for these services and 40 sessions later, I don't qualify for subsequent brain maps because I did my services at home instead of the in-office services. In order to receive a follow-up comparative brain map I would have had to pay an additional $165. Hmmmmm....none of that was mentioned on the website. Also, apparently the software used in-office is much better and they can offer more than the software used at home. So frustrating!!!!! This was very, very disappointing. After I had pointed out the discrepancy, a follow-up brain map was offered, however, it was made clear that most people don't ask for a follow-up because the results are typically so great ( I don't know what that has to do with MY RESULTS) Also, I was made to feel as though what I said about the free/included brain-mapping was somehow a misunderstanding on my end so I didn't feel comfortable continuing any kind of service. Again, if considering going to this office the discounts and promotions are not honored OR perhaps the wording on the website needs to be re-written. I honestly cannot vouch for the effectiveness for neurofeedback therapy. I never did the concluding brain map nor do I want to anymore because I don't feel comfortable after the misrepresentation of services AND I am in a LOT OF DEBT!!!! Also, there is a lot of promotions about how this therapy is so great. Well, not for everyone. This therapy is not a guarantee nor will it work super great for everyone's brain. This is a very, very expensive RISK. So although there are some 5-stars on this platform it is very important for the public to read a different experience to keep the expectations in check. Not all brains will respond so fantastically to neurofeedback. Buyer BEWARE!!!!!! I've actually done neurofeedback 10 years ago and the results were kind of a YES-No-Maybe-so sort of results. So I would say it is still about the same. I can say that my sleep has improved and my sound sensitivities are down about 20%. My OCD tendencies are slightly improved, but for those symptoms healing can take years, or so I've been told. Overall I can't say if the results will last, I will have to wait more than 6 months because according to the doctors the brain continues to integrate the therapies for several months afterwards. Was it worth spending $4000? Hmmmm....I dunno. I guess I had to try, I didn't know how my brain would respond and didn't know that my at-home services would NOT qualify for the complete services advertised on the website AND I did not realize that the software used for "at-home" services was limited and so therefore compromised the quality of brain training. It will take about 2 years to pay off this debt. After that time perhaps I will notice more improvements???

His skill level and ability to not only do what he does ridiculously well, but also articulate what's going on to his patients completely so we understand everything clearly, is outstanding. #1 in bedside manner. He should train other doctors in bedside manner. And the fact that he (like myself) is a serious musician just adds a whole layer to his understanding of sound and hearing. Super nice guy too, great attitude. And to those of you potential (or actual) bigots, looking at his picture and name and thinking "Oh no, he's Indian", yeah, so what? He's 100% as American as I am, and speaks better English than I do. Not exaggerating. And a genius, so get over it. It is now two days later and they did not even give me a call back or anything. When I called them right now, being the one that initiated the second call, the mail that answered had absolutely no reason why they didn't call me back. The only reason that he stated was because they don't work on Sundays. I let him know that in psychiatry, any reasonable person would think it's extremely important that they check their messages when they come in having somebody on call to do that for their patients. Supremely important is that they return phone calls. Any reasonable person in my opinion would believe that if you're dealing in psychiatry, actually somebody's life could be on the line and you don't even call them back for two days. Note that I'm not saying that that's in my case but they have no idea who I am and who the people are. They are calling for the first time. For me to witness them dropping the ball this seriously, I'll be calling somebody else that shows the importance needed to do this type of work and to take it seriously enough. I offered him more than one time to give me a good explanation on why they never called back and he was unable to do it and only apologized. In my opinion, others should realize that they did this.
