It didn't feel like I could get comfortable how I normally do at home, but I understand. The unit that I was given on a Friday required a physique without hills and valleys. The ad showed a man with the device across his chest. This unit had a bright light pointing towards my face that shone brightly at me if the device wasn't completely still and lying on a flat surface. So...I spent two nights trying to sleep with this light in my face so the unit would record an accurate sleep study. The item was to be returned on Monday, when they re-opened. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I tried calling to ask what other options were available to get an accurate reading. The phone calls lead me to a voicemail that never returned my calls.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I finally drove over to try to speak with someone. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I told the receptionist my issue, she held out her hand to receive the unit, she never responded to my issue, she only said that the office would contact me to let me know if I failed the sleep test.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Do you think I had accurate readings? You guessed! Heck no! The report given to my doctor was erroneous and based on flawed data. 4 months after I did an in home study, I was able to do my in lab sleep study. My appointment was at 10 pm. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I arrived at 0955 pm and the door was locked. I waited until 10 pm and then I called the after hours number. Someone hung up on me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Usually I don't mind waiting but I had to use the bathroom due to an irritable bowel. I see some guy come out, stating, " I'm sorry I don't work here". I told him that I had to use the bathroom. He didn't care. A couple of minutes after, someone finally lets me in and I could use the bathroom[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. You give them your ID and insurance card and then they lead you to your room. After you are ready, the sleep tech comes in to connect you to your monitoring equipment. They put electrodes in your hair so it gets pretty messy. After they have attached all the equipment, they put a sleep mask on you, adjusting the mask and settings as needed for you. Of course, I didn't really get a restful sleep. However, once I did all asleep, they woke me up at 0545 am. I was done with the study. I looked a terrible mess so I would recommend wearing a hat if you plan on going to get coffee before driving home. They have temple coffee across the street which opens at 6 am. As I'm leaving the sleep center, I see the same guy that claimed that he doesn't work there, arriving at the same time as I'm leaving. Hummmm. Anyway, its not a bad place to get your sleep study done. Just so you know, they will come and unhook you if you need to use the bathroom during the night. read more

Wonderful experience at CSS, despite my not wanting to go. My physician ordered an in-person study and I was surprised to see the rooms were simulated to look like actual bedrooms which made it easier to relax. My technician (I believe his name was Ethan) was amazing. Very informative, answered my questions, made sure I was comfortable and explained every step. I showed up 30 min early and the staff was ready for me right away. Went to my room and signed papers. The wife hookup of course is long and an arduous task but all you have to do is just sit and wait. The bed was comfy and was fine for me. I like it real cold so the AC was pumping and I felt good. Took awhile to fall asleep in a new place with a mask on and wires but I finally did. Carpet in rooms are dirty but other than that staff is professional. read more

I was referred to CSS by a doctor. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I contacted them multiple times, in multiple different ways, and they never got back to me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Also, I would presume that people with sleep issues have messed up sleep schedules. I certainly do. I don't think they can properly diagnose you if you have to sleep on their timeline. Normally, I've barely slept by the time it's 6am, and that's the time you have to leave? Seems like nonsense to me. Further, how can they even diagnose something like narcolepsy if they don't allow you to sleep for prolonged periods of time? It started with spam text messages that looked like a scam to click a link. I'm not clicking on a link in a text message I didn't request. Then they started calling and the call was labeled "potential spam". So I didn't answer that either. When the doctor's office called that put in a referral asked if I had been called, I told them what I said here. When I called the number back that had been calling me, I couldn't get a person, there was no option in the phone tree to talk to a person. So I waited on hold for the closest thing that made sense, and was sent to voicemail. At which point I received another automated text message. Nothing says "you matter" quite like a robot... terrible experience and we haven't even had a real conversation. **My Experience** I arrived fifteen minutes early for my appointment at 9pm. First thing I was told is that I had to wait until 8:45 before I could enter. Ok I went back and sat inside my car. Now they have a big waiting room. What if someone was just dropped off and couldn't wait in one's vehicle. It's dark,cold outside. Something I believe the staff should at least take into consideration. I was expecting a dark room. Nope had two windows in the room. Covered with light blinds. If you are going to have a sleep study for patients one would think rooms would be dark no light. Person I had was nice and professional but didn't throughly check to make sure all was tabs were removed. I came home and still had a few on me. Spring 2020 dispensed Phillips Respironics Dream Station CPAP FDA which I used for one year until the FDA recalled it due to highly toxic microplastic particles emitted into patients lungs due to manufacturing defect, and a national class action lawsuit with 15 million plaintiffs (myself included.) California Sleep Solutions kept sending me monthly bills for FOUR YEARS harrassing me to pay about $2,300 for this FDA recalled medical equipment, despite Medicare and Medicaid would pay for a CPAP machine because it was definitely PRE-AUTHORIZED well in advance of my diagnostic procedure. It is widely acknowledge that no health care provider will even book an appointment for an expensive overnight diagnostic procedure UNTIL it is PRE-AUTHORIZED by the health insurance company! CSS NEVER BILLED Anthem Blue Cross Medicare Advantage - Health Net Med-Cal in 2020 A few years after dispensing the CPAP to me, when CSS did finally submit bills to my health insurance, the numerical codes for the overnight sleep lab were always wrong and of course, the bill was kicked back by my health insurance with instructions to CORRECTLY use the appropriate billing codes. From 2020 until 2024 California Sleep Solutions kept sending me monthly bills demanding I pay $2,300 out of my own pocket for a CPAP machine which should have been CORRECTLY billed to my health insurance. [[HIGHLIGHT]]In 2024, I had a 25 minute long - 3 way telephone conversation with myself, Nivano Physicans Group and Patricia, Billing Dept of CSS and Nivano Physicians Group staffer patiently cited the correct billing numerical code to use to submit the bill to health insurance. CSS re-submitted bill STILL had the WRONG billing codes![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There is a type of statue of limitations how long a healthcare provider can submit a bill for payment and that ship sailed after 4 years. I wasn't even a Nivano Physicans Group patient after 2022 - eventually the bill became "stale" and the insurance company quite rightly refused to pay for the CPAP machine by 2024 because it was dispened around June 2020. I still kept getting pestered with monthly bills via postal mail by CSS and I kept calling Patricia, Billing Dept staffer, AND her supervisor in CSS billing dept and get the "run around" YET ANOTHER "crazy making" Dumpster Fire - for 2 YEARS from 2023 to 2025 CSS kept pestering me with monthly bills insisting I pay out of my own pocket approximately $2,300 for an overnight sleep apnea lab THEY NEVER BILLED Anthem Blue Cross Medicare and MediCal to pay. Within a week of my referral the office called schedule the study. The office is very efficient and willing to answer questions about the sleep study. I was set up with the patient portal and received the forms needed for the study and a phone number to add to my contacts. I've had several sleep studies with different Sleep Labs. 3 times with CA Sleep Solutions. They are is absolutely the best. read more

I called CSS to order replacement headgear (willing to pay out of pocket) and they wouldn't sell it to me without selling me additional masks I don't need. I regret to say that my experience with California Sleep Solutions during the last year has been disappointing and must agree with many of the negative reviews on Yelp . Communication was lacking, response times were slow, (good luck trying to get someone to pick up a phone) and staff (by no fault of their own) seemed to lack the ability to resolve issues. What was best for the patient seem to take second place. Unfortunately, this negatively impacted my overall experience and perception of the company. I had a sleep study done and received the results via their portal as promised, within two weeks. The tech was efficient and helpful. Answered all my questions. No complaints. The facility was clean and neat. I am still waiting to get a follow up appointment to get a mask fitted. If i could give them 0 stars I would. i had a sleep study done by them. When I went to get my initial CPAP headgear the woman pointed a of wall of masks & said which one do you want? What? I was clueless, and she offered no advice & did not let me try any headgear on. Hence I went through 3 masks before i found one that fit. This was not inexpensive. I signed up for their automatic resupply program and paid for my next supplies. They never arrived, so i explained the problem, showed them my receipt & CSS insisted that they could not refund my money as they could not back bill. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she said he was not available, I asked for their last name and she said she didn't know; I asked if she couldn't tell me or really did not know, she said she was not allowed to give their name. I was supposed to get a call from an upper manager the next Monday, but they never called. This cost me over $300. Now suspicious, i asked several times for a copy of my sleep study which they promised but never would deliver. Mind you these are MY records and yet they would not produce them. They are crooks, I would not be surprised if they didn't diagnose everyone with sleep apnea severe enough to require CPAP equipment from them. read more

Instructions for take home unit from different CSS personnel significantly differed.  I did not receive training session.  Their Internet video and booklet in container gave different instructions, some of which did not work.  When the unit did not work, the late night telephone help informed me incorrectly, and also did not call back on two occasions. Two people were especially rude:  one by telephone and one in person who did give me instructions for a later session.  She continuously interrupted. CSS should train all employees consistent instructions and be sure that they adhere to them.  This problem may start with the supervisor.  I could never recommend this business with anything but detailed caveats about poor service. read more

I am 68 years old and this is the first time I have ever written a review because my experience is THAT bad. I realize that there are five locations, so to be fair, this review only concerns the Sacramento location. My initial at home sleep study was a nightmare to schedule, and at the moment I am experiencing a similar experience scheduling my on-site sleep study. After two weeks trying to schedule an appointment to no avail, I finally was able to speak to a live human being. I told her at the beginning of my call my specific reason for my request. She then went on and asked me a bunch of standard questions, as if I was a first time patient. She finally told me that I would need to speak to speak to a specific person in order to schedule this type of sleep study. She said they would contact me within the next 48 hours. Two weeks went by and I finally received an online questionnaire that was general in nature, as if I I was a first time patient. I completed the questionnaire a week ago - again mentioning my specific need. Still have not been contacted. The other business practices that I found reprehensible was at the time I went into pickup the equipment for my initial sleep study , I found out for the first time, that all individuals had to sign a statement that acknowledged that if they did not return their equipment within 24 hours, they would have to pay a $5,000 late return fee, not covered by insurance and with no information of any kind of what, if any, reasons for a late return where this fee would be waived. The list price from the manufacturer for the equipment is $1,250. If I had car troubles or got stuck in traffic - $5,000. Before I wrote this review I was going to contact the owner(s) of the business directly; but was unable to find that information. While looking for the information on the public search option CA Sec of State website, I found out that the business' had numerous suspensions over the past past 9 years. This was my first sleep study ever & I was kind of nervous but the staff made me feel comfortable & also explained everything beforehand so I knew what was going to happen. The rooms they give you look like actual bedrooms so you feel comfortable & they also let you bring your own pillows and blankets, anything to make you feel comfortable basically. Although the cpap machine gave me major anxiety it sort of worked. They don't properly check their machines before they give them to another customer. No apology for making me run around town trying to get a good test. Now I find out that the second test didn't work either because the machine was not working properly. I had to find this out from my doctors office. So...the truth is I was not going to write a review on this visit. I had no choice once the service started because, it was so Amazing! What else could I do? This experience was nothing like what I was expecting. When I first arrived I was greeted by a young lady name Demara, but she preferred to be called Dee. She led me to what was to be my room, which totally caught me off guard. Private room! It had a nice queen size bed and nite stand and a bathroom with a shower, which was almost the same size as the bedroom. The lighting in the room could be set nice and dim to make the room cozy and relaxing. The room was clean with a fresh smell to it. It was quiet and peaceful. Once in the room, Dee explain the precedure and then started to hook up the machine and wires to me. I was not expecting all of the head wires and oxygen, but whatever it takes to get to the the root of my bad sleeping habits. It's weird and funny, just the thought of someone watching you while you sleep all night. But they do! They have a camera facing over the bed and they have a speaker so they/and you can communicate with each other. Dee explained that whenever I called her she would be right here and she was. Every time I called! Now I was not expecting there to be no t.v.! I definitely was not told about that part of the process. Lol, non the less I actually went to sleep quicker than I normally would. I must admit I was very pleased with this procedure and the out come. I was also truly pleased with Dee and her professional attitude and her knowledge regarding the procedure. She was a sweet young lady. And I am thankful to Sleep Study Solution for being a company that has pride in their establishment and should be pleased with this staff member and the job she is doing. I appreciate the experience. My only negative was the clue like substance that they put in your hair, that is totally hard by the time you reach home. This practice has very poor patient service. They do not respond to emails or to voicemail messages.

I have never had a sleep study before and had a lot of anxiety going in. However, once inside, the atmosphere is so clean, relaxing and peaceful. I didn't have to wait for more than a minute or two to be shown to my room, and where the bathroom/shower was. Once I was able to settle into my room I was given paperwork and left alone for about 15 minutes. When the tech came back in she explained the process for the night and then began hooking me up to all the wires. As she connected the wires she informed me of their purpose, which was nice because it can seem a bit strange at first. She was very gentle and polite and this helped ease my anxiety significantly. After being hooked up you have to get in bed though you don't have to fall asleep right away. I was very thankful there was AC and a fan in the room as a cool environment is what I'm used to. Due to the nature of the study, a tech did come in throughout the night to check a wire or hook up the CPAP machine. Each time care was given to not startle me awake. I read an earlier review prior to me attending my appt. A patient left a review saying things like "no tv" etc... I asked before I went what I could bring with me. I was told that I should prepare just as I was going to sleep at home. I ASKED if I could bring my ipad, a book etc.. YES you can bring things with you. If you have questions then ask ahead of time! I had my sleep apnea study done at this facility. It was not an unpleasant experience. The tech was professional and explained in detail everything that was going to happen. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. My only suggestion would be to have them include a more detailed list of the things to bring. I had no idea I would need to shampoo my hair to get the goop out and they only had a small amount of shampoo. Had I known, I would have brought my own. I was so anxious about this study but the staff was so wonderful and explained everything that was going to be done. I actually had a wonderful sleep better than I expected. Very comfortable beds and staff was so helpful if the room was too hot or too cold they really wanted you to feel comfortable and relaxed and was always very warm when they walked into the room. I highly recommend this place if you ever need to do a sleep study. read more
