At check in I rudely was informed the building "hasn't had hot water for months and there will be no discounts, but you can go somewhere else if you want." They did offer a free cancellation, but then told me I'd have to take care of it myself because I booked through a 3rd party site. I've stayed here several times in the past, but this most recent stay is my LAST. I received my room key at check-in which looked like it was pulled out of the dumpster. I grabbed a luggage cart that felt like I was pushing a tractor once I got it loaded only to find out the ice machine wasn't working on my floor once I got to my room, so I had to work up a sweat pushing this thing back on the elevator to find ice for my cooler on a different floor. I walked into a hot room, alarm clock 7 hours off the current time and a HOT fridge. The next morning was my breaking point! Breakfast was non-existent. No coffee left and maybe 8 sausage links that consisted of a hot breakfast. I walked down to the lobby at 7:36 AM to find the only employee around mopping the lobby floor. He proceeded to mop the dining area and then blocked off the area where the food items were to mop that floor at PEAK checkout time! When I went back to my room to leave my parting gift, I quickly found that I was supplied with only 10 squares of toilet paper. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL! read more

200.00 cash deposit for paying with cash??? Even if you live in the area. Coming back to N. Illinois from my mother's funeral in Alabama. Didn't stop to make reservations so pulled over when I got sleepy. 200.00 plus pet fee plus room fee. Total over 350.00. I said no thank you. Is that even legal? We have stayed here before and it was ok. This trip was disappointing for the price. The hotel is sorely in need of general maintenance and deeper housekeeping. (See pictures). The food was quite bad. We chose to go out each morning instead. Cold food was warm. Warm food was cool. The bedding was stained. There was mildew on the walls of the bathroom. So easily cleaned but not done. The toilet paper holder was pulled out of the wall and instead of repairing it, they just left it on the shelf. But then....I guess since there was no holder, they didn't put ANY toilet paper in the room. Had to go to the front desk and ask for toilet paper. The flooring looked like it had not been vacuumed. Mind you, the room was billed at $171.27 and $166.10 for the weekend nights due to a festival in the area. The dirty, un-maintained condition did NOT warrant those prices. It was not this bad last year. Booking a different hotel for next year. Come on Choice Hotel group.....you can do much better. read more

They lied to us at the time we booked the room about the pool. Actually, the pool is closed, and with two kids who were looking forward to swimming after an 8 hour drive, it was infuriating because now there are no rooms at any of the other hotels nearby with a pool. The room was clean, all linens were clean. The breakfast was okay although the regular coffee could peel paint and I'm used to strong coffee. That being said, it was raining when we got there so some of the staff were standing under the portico out front smoking, so we had to walk in and out through the smoke unloading our car, the lobby smelled of cigarette smoke also, the room was musty smelling. It was a first floor room and I found the window to be unlatched and barely open behind the curtains, this is a safety hazard. It was still raining the next morning when we were checking out so different staff members were under the portico smoking which my wife had to stand in while I was bringing the car around. I'm been in much worse places before but I will try not to stay in this place again the next time I'm in Columbia. read more

I was staying at the hotel as a diamond member for two nights. The first room smelled like death. It's my weekend off so i was planning to get caught up on sleep this is the sleep inn. I locked both locks and at 1130 two people came into my room to wake me up. Now I have no clothes on and instead of saying excuse me im sorry for the mistake they stand there asking questions like they are the police. You have no privacy at this location they hire people that don't listen and who the hell are the managers that allow this type of behavior. I will never stay at this location again. read more

The room temp was set on 54 degrees when we arrived. There was no toilet paper or ice bucket in the room and all the drawers were opened. While the management gave us the items we needed quickly the room service maid for room 324 should be retrained. Also the vending. Machine on our floor was open and all the soda was gone. Stayed here for 3 days recently and was very impressed. It's new and clean, with quite a few amenities for a budget-priced hotel. I interacted with several staff members during my stay and they were all professional and very friendly. The rooms have a mini-fridge and microwave, and the appointments are better than one would expect at this price range. I was very happy with the experience and would stay there again. read more

We've stayed here twice, and it's the perfect halfway point from our trips from Alabama to Indiana. Fairly new, and always clean.

The sheets we could get were clean. Shower door doesn't do anything a door is supposed to door, you know, like close a gap. There was no remote to the tv, so we were stuck watching amc for 3 days, the front desk said that happens quite often and we had to deal. The paint is chipping off the ceiling in the "suite". The room was super clean. I brought my own cleaning supplies (you know, because of corona) and I ran my wipes over every surface, and not one of the wipes had a dirty spot on them. The staff was super accommodating. We called hours in advance and told them we may be there around 2 am and they had everything ready for us even though we got there closer to 4. Limited contact. It was great! Felt clean and safe the whole time we were there. I definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling through. read more

Traveling down to Destin Florida from Michigan. Great overnight stop. Friendly staff, clean modern rooms. Nice amenities. Kitchen staff does an outstanding job on their breakfast buffet. Never had stayed at a Sleep Inn before but it was a great deal and I only needed one night. The employees were prompt and nice to deal with. Room was very clean and quiet at night. Breakfast was good and plentiful. I am a business consultant and have audited many types of businesses in the past for their operational practices and I would recommend this hotel. Only change I would make are the fluorescent bulbs with the white light in everything but I understand the cost savings and reduction of maintenance in using them. This hotel isn't very old so that's worth a star and it pretty clean my problem is they have a laundry room but no detergent & you have to step through water to get inside so apparently they have a leaky ice machine. #2 Their vending machine barely has anything in it and doesn't work most of the time so imagine being late and hungry already in Pjs and not even a snack so if I would have a longer stay I would stay elsewhere or make sure to do a Walmart run before you stay here! They also Do not leave soap in the rooms either! So in my opinion they aren't very accommodating! read more
