Very Disappointed this time. Updating my review from last year noted below, to today (Jan. 2019) Dirty window treatment like someone got sick or spilled unpleasant food on one panel. Not sure how housekeeping could miss this. Additionally, behind the door there was splatter of something red. Certainly didn't look like ketchup but rather lightly blood splattered. Very disappointed this time. We will find a different hotel next time. It's too bad as the location is very convenient for us. Review 2017 Ok hotel. Clean hotel , free breakfast in the little kitchen/dining area. The bed was very comfortable. Nothing outstanding and nothing bad. Just a good hotel, easy to find, nice staff, pool, close to many restaurants. There is one within walking distance which was great for us. The location was what I needed, the room was comfortable (though there was food from former guests under the bed), the pool was nice, the patio area outside the pool was great, but with all that said, the first time we turned the tv on in the room, around 8 pm, PORN was on. My tween children were exposed to this for the few seconds it took for them to get my attention and for me to register what I was seeing. This is completely unacceptable, as the lady at the front desk agreed, but the damage can never be unseen. read more

The actual hotel room was fine, there was a crooked mirror and the curtains were taped to the window, but everything else was fine. But as soon as we came down for breakfast, everything went downhill. The man working there was VERY rude! He was rushing me and my friends to get our food and go sit. And when we were making waffles, he YELLED at me for flipping it too soon. I will never come back here again. And if I do, you bet yourself I will not be going down for breakfast. The most disgusting hotel we've ever stayed in. Found socks in the bed & hair in the shower the first night. They switched us rooms and the second was worst-- menstrual blood on the toilet, 6 month old soap in the shower, hair rubberband in the bed. When we complained after noticing, we were told it was our fault for not reporting these things as we checked in (it was 10 pm we had two young children we put right to bed and didn't use the restroom until the following morning). Manager wanted to know why we were asking for clean sheets daily aftee our house fire said it was costing him a lot of money to do that. Exposed carpet stripping in lounge. Burned out lights common place. Black mold in restrooms and shower. Many aspects sparatically work. Manager dies not care about anything and responds with generic statements including reviews. I first stayed here about three years ago. It's a relatively newer hotel, and is nice enough. There's free wifi, a fitness room, a pool, breakfast with some hot food items and there are places to dine in or buy food close by. On my stay this year, the room and public spaces were still fine, but showing a little bit of wear. Our room appeared clean and the bed was comfortable enough. We didn't realize that the continuous fan setting on the heating/cooling unit didn't work until we were going to bed. The area the Sleep Inn is located in is quiet enough that this wouldn't have been an issue, but unfortunately there was a loud group of about a dozen young men staying in rooms near our room, and they were having a large gathering in the room right across from us. After complaints, the front desk staff did try to quiet them down, but we were awakened several times in the wee hours of the morning, and kept awake by this group. Perhaps if the fan had been on nonstop, we might not have been disturbed by them. My lesson learned is to check to make sure the fan works as soon as I get in the room from now on. This property and the Cornerstone are currently the newest lodging available in Washington, and I would probably stay here again if I wanted/needed to stay in Washington. For the price, if you don't need to be in Washington, there are more reasonable options to be found in Peoria or East Peoria. Due to the disruptions we experienced during our stay, the front desk staff offered us a refund and took my husband's email address to get back to us. Two weeks later we have still heard nothing from them and even worse, when my husband tried calling the hotel, no one answered the phone and there was a recording that said they were unable to answer due to "technical difficulties". read more

If I could give negative stars I would. Bug in toilet at check in. Flushed and complained. We got the last room in the hotel and let me tell you I can see why they save it for last. I looked in the bathroom again and there were more dead bug carcasses in the corners. Called and complained again. Left to check in for the competition my husband was in the next day come back. They mopped, but now there are live bugs in the toilet. Flush and an hour later there are more bugs. Needless to say this went on all night in the toilet on the floor in the tub it was disturbing and disgusting and all they would do is a 30% refund. If you get room 319 run don't walk to the next hotel. Total bug infestation. I have pictures and video I sent to the front desk clerk. read more

This is a standard, low end hotel. There is really nothing too special about it, nor was there anything particularly wrong with the room we stayed in. Washington is small, and you can tell that there isn't much competition between hotels. Pros: -The bathroom has a very large vanity, which made getting ready in the morning easy. -If you are staying for business/work, there is also a very large desk in the room that seemed to be of good quality. -Breakfast is offered -Hot tub and pool available (the pool IS heated!) Cons: -The breakfast, though offered, is less than your standard fare. The eggs are your "from a bag" offering, there was no bacon, and the biscuits for their biscuits and gravy were stone cold and stale, even when they were freshly restocked. They DO have a waffle maker, which is good! -The pillows were coined as "bed croutons" by those of us staying here. They were almost comically small. -The TV was small as well, which isn't much of an issue if you aren't planning on staying in on any nights. -Although they offer WIFI, it is also unsecured, and thus dangerous to use without protection and encryption on your end -Our room had one cloth shower curtain with no plastic liner. The curtain was ripped in multiple places. -The ironing board in our room was broken. -Our room had a strange smell to it that seemed to be coming from the heating/cooling system. Nothing major that warranted getting it checked out, but enough to be annoying -We were charged a fee for having a safe in our room. Even though we never used it. This is a standard, low end hotel. Don't expect high key amenities or offerings, and it will be fine. read more

Stayed at Sleep Inn Washington IL for 7 nights. Had some trouble with key cards. Finally on the day before we checked out our door wouldn't open at all. The girl called manager and got it open and wanted us to change rooms. We declined since were leaving next morning. As she worked on door we had to stand in hall for quite sometime. Told her we wanted to speak to manager and she said he would be in next day at 3. I called twice and phone rang and hung up as if we were blocked. So we won't be staying here again. There are only about three hotels/motels in Washington, IL: This one, a Super 8, and a sketchy-looking motel (aren't all motels sketchy-looking?) that currently has blue tarps on the roof. Obviously, this was the nicest of the offerings. It is nothing special, but it was clean, the bed was comfortable enough, the heating unit was able to power through single digit temperatures and keep the room warm, the rooms were fairly large, and nothing was shabby or terribly outdated. They had a complimentary breakfast, but I don't know what that entailed because I slept through it. There was ample parking, and the hotel was conveniently located. It's probably a 3 to 3.5 star hotel for hotel rating purposes, but for Yelp's purposes it is a solid four stars. read more

This hotel is TERRIBLE! It is so run down and dirty. Nothing has been maintained in years. You have to look no further than the lobby - the couch and arm chairs are worn and stained. My bathroom smelled like vomit, the bedding and towels are ancient, a light was out, the TV was crap, and the card key mechanism broke and took 30 minutes to get resolved. And, there was a prostitute doing "business" cross the hall. Good grief... Avoid this place and stay in East Peoria. read more

BUT...the blanket on the bed was cheap and flimsy, the was no refrigerator (sorry guys, that's a major strike! This is now the 21st century, and if you wanna even have anything close to a credible hotel, YOU DARN WELL BETTER HAVE A REFRIGERATOR!!), and there was no way I was gonna touch those so-called "eggs" that they had for breakfast... None of the lights worked in the room. Every light bulb was out besides the bathroom overhead light. Beds were extremely squeaky and not comfortable to say the least. If you can book in Peoria, I would recommend driving the additional 18 minutes. read more

I stayed there for 2 nights for a weekend lacrosse tournament. The hotel was literally down the road from the fields, so as far as location, it could not get any better. As far as quality goes: The room was clean and big. The bed was comfy, and there was no shortage of pillows. The bathroom was large, the counter was spacious, and the shower worked perfectly fine. Also, more importantly, they provide free, tasty breakfast. Seriously, I've never had waffles so good before. All in all, it was everything I could have asked for for a 2-night stay. Unfortunately, this was the last year I can go to the tournament, but if I were to go down to Peoria again, I would definitely stay at the Sleep Inn. read more

The booking process was easy for this hotel, staff was nice/informative when asked about places to visit/eat. We didn't swim or eat in the morning due to the time frame we had to work with on our end but they do offer a free breakfast. Everything from the room to the pool looked clean. No reason to stay here. The room we received was across from the pool. The room's walls are paper thin. Not only was the noise from the pool horrendous, but we could carryon a conversation with the person in the next room through the wall. The next day we asked to move to a room away from the pool. The Sunday front desk person asked if I had complained the night before. Why would that make a difference. Then he pointed out that isn't wasn't noisy now (at 2pm). And then he complained that would cause another room to be cleaned, even tho we hadn't entered our room since it was cleaned that morning. I've never had an hotel staff argue with me before. What happened to trying to satisfy the customer? This employee obviously doesn't like his job. Speaking of cleaning of the room. During our 5 night say our room wasn't cleaned at all twice. The room safe didn't have a door on it. We couldn't print out our flights boarding passes because the printer in the lobby didn't have any ink. We were in town for a family wedding. As we left, my wife forgot the dress she wore in the hotel room closet. Once we realized, we called the hotel and they had no interest in making it easy to get our dress back. They wouldn't just send it to us, take our credit card and pay for the envelope, anything easy like that. Instead, they said we had to send a self-addressed, pre-paid envelope inside of another envelope to them which would have cost us over $50. For a $50 dress. I contacted their parent company and they refused to help in any way so we've just written off the dress at this point. If I could give zero stars I absolutely would. We used this hotel for our wedding guests and that is by far my biggest regret from the wedding. Working with Evon and his staff was HORRIBLE!!! There was ZERO communication between the staff and the GM Evon. We originally had 30 rooms reserved for our wedding block with a discount for our guests, within a week all of the room were "sold out" so my guests had to go else where, then I called to see how the heck they were sold out already and they didn't have an explanation and couldn't provide me with a list of peoples' names in our block. Then a week later rooms were magically open again. This happened 4 different times throughout the month and a half before our wedding. Guests were beyond confused and concerned they wouldn't have a room once getting there. Then I called to make sure they had the room reserved for my husband and I and they FORGOT to actually book it. We wouldn't have had a place to stay on our wedding night if I didn't have a gut feeling to call and check. Then I found out from my guests that NO ONE was getting the discount. The saga continues, we set up to have several different shuttles take us to and from our venue. Evon asked me to call him a few weeks before to set up the times. It took me over a week just to get ahold of him. The staff kept telling me to call back and certain times in certain days and he was NEVER in at those times. After awhile I finally got ahold of him and we set up several different shuttles. We also discussed me dropping off guest bags with snacks in shuttle information for the guests staying at the hotel, he said that was no problem. So the Tuesday before our wedding I receive a phone call for him saying he could no long do the shuttles for our wedding. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! This was an out of town wedding and we had completely booked out this hotel in the middle of no where with out guests and you're telling me you are going to drop services a few days before our wedding?! I took it to corporate and they were able to change that for me. They acted quickly because it was such short notice and in our CONTRACTS with the manager. We got thr shuttles back only because corporate got involved. Then the next day I go to drop off the guest bags I had already talked to Evon, the GM, about. The girl at thr front desk, Evon's relative, gave me the BIGGEST attitude about the bags.. She wouldn't help me carry them in or even let me leave them with her. So I told her to call Evon. She called him and SCREAMED at him for a few minutes, in Spanish, right in front of me. Totally unprofessional!!! Then she said she could keep the bags but I had to move them to her back room. I was fine to HELP her move them but she didn't help move them and continued to have attitude the whole time. I then called corporate again because I was started to worry big time about my guests coming and staying here with how unprofessional and rude thr staff was. Corporate again had to contact Evon. Twice in 2 days. The venue's event coordinator ended up going over to the hotel to talk to Evon herself and basically put thr fear of God in him. The venue does SO much business with them and she was very disappointment and also worried for our guests. The actual nights at the hotel was okay, however the elevator was broken and we had guests who physically needed thr elevator and couldn't use it. Again not okay. The staff was asked to help carry bags down from upper floors since thr elevator was broken and the staff refused. Unprofessional. Overall this experience was HORRIFIC. DO NOT STAY WITH THEM, DO NOT GIVR THIS HORRIBLE HOTEL ANY BUSINESS!!!! The hotel should not be the most stressful part of wedding planning but it absolutely was. WORST EXPERIENCE!!!!! read more

This hotel is wonderful! We got in late on Thursday, and if someone is not at the desk, you use the phone there and call them. I loved that because I hate going to a hotel and not being able to find anyone. Our room is fantastic! We got a simple king size bed, but it is comfortable!!! I haven't slept this good in months! The continental breakfast is really fresh and tasty! Eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, etc.! We tried to make coffee in our room and made a HUGE mess! I spoke with the front desk AND the wonderful woman who cleaned our room. They were so willing to help and said it was no problem! Moral of this story: we are DEFINITELY coming back here! We had a 1 night stay in a 1 king bed suite. It was a non smoking room but we think people were smoking outside our window at the front of the building and it came in through the fan. The room was a good size for me, my husband and our 2 year old. The fridge was much bigger than I expected which I loved because of course I brought a lot of toddler food and our own snacks and drinks. The room was clean but the coffee maker is right by the toilet and there was a few places on walls near shower and garbage cans where they should have cleaned. Just a shower no tub which was ok for us. They started taking down the continental breakfast very early which really bothered me but the wi-fi was good and the size of our room made me pretty happy. Noise wasn't too bad despite 3 weddings and being next to a busy bar. We booked online and I don't see any clarification on how much we actually saved using our AAA but I think we did get a reduced rate. Overall pretty good and what else are you going to do unless you're going to stay in Peoria? read more
