CAUTION DO NOT GO HERE !!! I got ptsd from this I will say literally rathole, arrived around 1:30am for one night, tired from flight and driving. Inside the room, smells, not cleaned, and on the top of all, everything on bed stinks and got stains! I slept with my full cloth and hoodie over my head! Breakfast area, omg, they got poster they serve waffels and they doesen't have them, trash is full and its on the table and floor, at the each table are leftovers from others, and most bizzare thing I ever saw at hotel is that employee who is around taking laaazy trash and leftovers only from one table and he left all others tables dirty, and trash on the table where they serving coffee and stuff. Look. The beds felt great and staff were nice. But the place is breaking apart. Shower curtain was barely holding on by a screw. Literally. Door handle in BR felt out. We found used candy when we came in on the floor. Iron didn't work and it was locked tethered to the board. Really! So I went downstairs got another one , then processed to maneuver around the broken one. Biggest issues for us is NOT having hot full breakfast as advertised in the website and pictures. By the have bagels and oatmeal (hot water pour) and muffins. But by the second day only plain bagels. Oh yes they had coffee. That's it. I search for a hotel only that had more than regular breakfast but hot breakfast---and they didn't. Hot breakfast as picture is more that muffins and plain bagels. Totally misled. So you think I'd pay $100 for a crappy place like that. Nope $196 for a night-- I stayed. Three nights!!! This was a twin queen room, barely had towels and smallest shampoo bottle ever!! No conditioner. Which would be helpful with the shower water being very hard. Really, fix this place up!!! It is barely worth $80 bucks a night. This was a huge disappointment. I pulled into what I thought was a quality inn... It used to be a quality inn? Everything about it says quality inn. Anyway. The staff were friendly for when I interacted with them. The room could've used a coat of paint. The bathroom fan ran ok for 10 seconds and then exploded into a loud obnoxious grinding noise. The ac unit fan....wasn't functioning.i suspected it set not to. I watched a you tube video on how to adjust setting on the ac. Lo and behold the fan started working after adjustment. Other than that the other room amenities were fine and the bed was comfy. Great free breakfast in the morning. Juice machine is out of order, but otherwise waffles, eggs, sausage, coffee, fresh fruit bagels. Parking lot felt safe and the over all security of the building was good. All in all I have stayed at better hotels and I have stayed at worse. Do NOT stay here. The hotel is misrepresented in the pictures - it's run down and everything is broken - laundry, empty pool, broken coffee pot at breakfast, empty vending machines, dirty carpets, seedy area, prostitutes outside. And, NO managers on staff!! The hotel overcharged me to my card and I have been trying for over a month to get an answer. When I call the hotel, they advised that they have no managers on staff, no one in charge. The only option s email and no one answers it. Horrible stay, absolutely NO customer service. read more

Worst hotel I ever stayed! The room smelled so bad. The smell slapped my face when I walked in the room. The bedding had stain all over the blankets, sheets and comforter. Had to call the front desk to get fresh sheets and blankets, pillow cases and everything. I had to pretty much clean the bathtub cuz hair was still on it! Kim from the front desk came to my room fast to change the sheets and she was very patient. I do really appreciate her doing that because I was really tired from working and just wanted to rest! First impressions mean a lot and when we got there shortly after 4:00 PM, check-in time, there was no one at the front desk. We finally get checked in and headed to the elevator and there was a faint odor of marijuana. I'm not a prude, but it is a non-smoking hotel, so there's that. After a little while, we get to our room and discover that the toilet has warm water. Not an issue for use, except it's a super weird sensation to feel the warmth coming up from the toilet and have your tush start to sweat. We head out and I stop by the front desk to tell them about the toilet. Surprise, no one was there. We come back later from sightseeing and still no one at the desk. I try to call the front desk from our room and the only way to use the phone is on speaker. The handset didn't work, but it didn't matter because no one answered anyway. We settled and listen to the people in the room next to us and the people across the hall go back and forth, pounding on each other's doors and slamming each time. We're talking every five minutes or less. Around 11:00 PM, I call the front desk and they actually answer. I tell them and they said they'd be up. A half-hour later and it's still going on. I call again and demand a new room. Guess where they wanted to put us? Right UNDER those rooms. I told them no and to find another one. They came up finally and heard all the commotion and did nothing except get us a new room. So we moved rooms around midnight. I was planning on discussing it this morning when we checked out, but there was no one at the front desk. Overall, a very disappointing stay. We almost exclusively stay at Choice properties, and I have to say we haven't experienced this level of apathy with them before. read more

Very comfortable and clean rooms, friendly staff. So happy to have found a place last minute and thankful they let us sleep in. Checked in very late and was able to rest before our long drive home. I learned the staff that helped during check in wasn't feeling very good and I first took as him being unfriendly. The day manager was very kind and helpful. Our room was musty and smelled a little of smoke. The bathroom was in need of repair and just seemed dingy. The elevator was a scary experience. This was more of a motel experience than a mid-range hotel that the comfort inns and suites are supposed to be. The worst? The creepy pool. The pool area just looks run down and the pool itself appeared to have a film on top of it and the water looked stagnant. Our kids were so grossed out and there was no way I was going to let them swim in it. This is a no go hotel. Staff was very pleasant though. read more

Previously stayed often before Covid, enjoying our stay. Unfortunately, the service has regressed and customer service no longer appears a priority! I asked twice for a coffee maker to be placed in our room...never arrived after three days of occupation! One towel for two people in the bathroom. Our family also stayed, with sofa sleeper requested. When sofa was opened, dirty sheets with kool aid stains were still on the mattress. No pillows or blanket was in the room for the sofa sleeper! We had to get another room to accommodate kids, with night worker telling us he 'wasn't sure if the key he gave was to an occupied room. Knock on the door before you go in'! I would give it ZERO stars if I could. I checked in Wednesday. I NEVER received any housekeeping services. NONE. ZERO. ZILCH. In addition, my room key would stop working after going in or out more then twice in one day. I would see housekeeping in the halls, ask them for towels and get told "No speak English". EVERY DAY. I went to the front desk (they barely spoke English) and was told no towels available, all in wash. I finally got towels Friday nite because I parked myself at the front desk and refused to leave until I got towels and toilet paper. Every day I would have to get new room keys, at least 3 times EVERY DAY. I was there with another person and 2 dogs, for a dog show. We went in and out constantly and it was EXTREMELY annoying to be unable to get back into our room repeatedly. Saturday I got new room keys for the 3rd time at around 3. Around 5 I went out and key didn't work. Front desk told me "Not my problem". I again refused to leave front desk until they gave me new keys. While I was waiting for the manager, the men in room 312 came and needed new keys. Said they'd had same problem with keys since Wednesday. Instead of giving me new keys the front desk called a manager who screamed at me and then told me to leave the hotel. When I refused to leave she called the police. I had paid thru Sunday but the police said if an innkeeper wants you to leave they can make you leave and it becomes a civil matter. They refused to give me a refund for Saturday nite because I was checking out early!!! NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL. I had stayed here in 2023 and 2022 for the same dog show and it was fine. The police said they have new management and that they have a lot of problems with this hotel now. read more

This hotel is so overrated, I felt compelled to write a review. Choice Hotels would not publish my review on their website, so it seems like they handpick reviews THEY want posted to inflate ratings. Unbelievable! They upcharged me for a Pet Friendly room on top of the Pet Fee even though I had a reservation and confirmed rate through Choice Hotels. Pet Friendly rooms are only on the first floor, which were suites and 2 queen beds costing more money. Typical Bait and Switch scheme. Room was clean, but outdated, dingy and smelled musty. Mattress was stained and so was the couch. Fake disgusting eggs for breakfast, and a staff that always seems to be watching you on their surveillance cameras, which made me feel uncomfortable. Hotel photos embellish exterior which looks like it hasn't been painted in years. Surrounding area didn't feel safe. It's the kind of place where you can't wait for morning so you can just leave. This motel is Bad!! Checked in after midnight, very tired!! Sheets are tingly dirty looking, mattresses are covered top and bottom, itched all night long!!! When my husband checked in he had to wait 10 minutes to get someone to even wait on him!! Mistake should of left! Cost $120, was a very old motel and when leaving on Sunday morning at 20 till 10 breakfast already closed down, and No one to complain to at the desk!!! This chain is a rip off. We booked on line & notated we had a service dog. Not only did the front desk not care about documentation but they said they did not have the room & "rate" that was on line. We were charged a higher rate & told we were not charged pet fee. We were also told "hey, you'll have breakfast in the morning!" I was up at 8:15am folding laundry in the lobby. No breakfast was out. Yet when I questioned it I was told that "there's no breakfast served". Then the story changed to "breakfast was served (she pulls out her phone to show me the time (9:30am). "Where were you?" Seriously? When I asked for the manager I was told they were not in & no urgency was made to contact either. Until I mentioned I had worked in the hotel industry & they were ripping us off. I was also told that we lost the room because the hotel was completely booked. Yet when we arrived only 3 cars were in the lobby. The TV did not work & at midnight when we walked thru the door & have no choice to cancel (because we would not be refunded our $99 dollars). We were "forced" to take their higher rate & room. Very Clean place. Comfortable Beds. wi-fi works great. Staff is very friendly. I stayed here for 3 nights. Everytime I came back from work, was greeted with a warm smile. Breakfast is better than other hotels I have stayed at. I liked the Grille 66 Restaurant across the street from hotel. Also 7 Eleven is next door. I will stay again when I come to South Bend. read more

It's your average, run-of-the-mill, college town, overnight hotel. Unless you want to stay near the airport, this isn't the best location for anything. Very good service! All three desk attendants have been very helpful and courteous. They are the only hotel in south bend, IN to list airport shuttle services. The rooms are clean. Minor fixes here and there are needed but soft bed and soft pillows! Some food choices close enough to walk. Good hotel for an overnight and airport stay. read more

My stay was awful. My room smelled of animal fecies. I called front desk. They said it was a pet friendly room! I didnt have a pet, and no other rooms were available! I took all blankets off the bed to use my own! I noticed on the part of the blanket you dont really see, was completely stained. I smelled it! omg! it smelled of urine, and very musty. Earlier I thought about putting my left overs in refrigerator, that was also dirty! The next day as I was checking out, I asked the housekeeper if they ever wash the blankets. she laughed and said no! I told her about the stains and she asked "was it near the bottom of bed?" I thought about it and said yes. The housekeeper told me the guest dont pull the blankets back that far, so we are told to put all stained linen toward the bottom of the bed! I gave her a $5 tip for being so honest! She said she was being honest because she hated working there, and was looking for another job! read more
