Not only does Schenck have the best prices around (believe me, I price-checked EVERYWHERE from as far north as Piqua to as far south as Monroe), but they have EXCELLENT, personalized customer service! From the moment you walk into Schenck's, you feel like family. We were there past closing time (we didn't realize it until we were leaving), and the owner was happy to take as much time as we needed to try everything out and ask lots of questions...and we didn't even purchase anything that day! When you call Schenck's, you do not get the typical automated answering service. Every time I have called, it has been a human, often the owner, which is quite refreshing. We actually had a concern about one of the pieces we purchased, and they took care of the concern right away. It turned out to be something simple that the manufacturer overlooked, but Schenck's picked up the loveseat and returned it to us, fixed and good as new, within a few hours. Buyer beware..... David is an amazing craftsman but I no longer trust him to do any more work for…read moreme. My kitchen build with him in late 2024 was a total shit show. When he started making demands for full payment, beyond the 74% deposit he had for 8 months, so that he could buy the lumber to start my kitchen.... I knew he was struggling financially. Upon further research, I found two other customers of his who had lost significant deposits (30k & 40k) and never got a single cabinet or refund. I was able to negotiate a bonus for him to deliver my kitchen... kind of crazy to bonus someone for poor behavior, but money spoke to him to get him to complete my project and instead of being another person to lose a 38k deposit, i paid extra beyond my contract and got my kitchen. Unfortunately, I cannot trust David ever again to build me anything. Which is really a shame as I love his work, but the risk is just too high. I did such a great job for them that I worked my way up to the Custom Shop side where I was part of an only 3 man team creating super custom cabinet doors. Again, I hand made beautiful custom designs for the rich and well-to-do customers' homes from raw lumber. I was a master artisan creating eternal works from Maple, Mahogany, and even Knotted Walnut. Precision Wood owners did not see fit to give me a raise and I stayed at my wonderful $5 an hour pay!! YES!! What a great place to retire!! All the while I was around dangerous clear coating and stain fumes, glues, non-OSHA regulated saws and routers with no safety guards in place, where a finger or hand could easily be severed if you were even remotely tired at 7:00 in the morning. When i finally decided that this was a terrible company to work for and that I'd have more luck selling crack at the police station, I quit. As I did, this company refused to give me my final $200 paycheck that I drove all the way out into the middle of nowhere into a corn field to get until I returned to them their tape measure. I hope you all fail miserably. Do not order anything from P Wood and support a company that treats American citizens like worthless slaves.
