The inn itself was super cute and cozy. The room was simple and small, but it worked. The bed and pillows weren't the comfiest, but again, for one night it was fine. They offered a dinner special which included filet mignon but we decided to go out instead. They do have a cute bar and patio, as well as rocking chairs out front. We had a night cap and sat outside for a little which was nice. For a quick one night stay, this inn is a good option.

Relax on the cozy couches or check out the elbow room art gallery filled with local art. Tables from Southern Proper Hospitality's Milton's dots the lobby and adjacent rooms, and a large bar opens to the beautiful outdoor patio with a lounge and fireplace area! Upstairs, the beautiful hardwoods stretch into each room. Inside the room, beautiful wood pieces, original hardwood floors, and comfy bed invites you to stay the night. The beautifully renovated bathroom is bright and light! This historic hotel dates back to 1917 when a school was converted into the hotel with 33 rooms. In 1937 the building added the brick, while in 1950 a new wing was added. As a staple of the community, it has been renovated over the years but the touches and charm are still there to see! The most striking of the 1917 originals are the beautiful, original hardwood floors. Then, in 1975 a new building was built. So, the Monte Vista with its crackling fire and beauty has been housing and holding people since 1917! That's over 100 years! I read the recent reviews. I didn't have any issues with noise and was in the main building on the corner with a beautiful room. I'd make sure you were in the main building. Also, the staff at the front desk are amazing!!

I used online check-in to get my digital key and to choose my room. Love that feature on the Hilton app! I arrived just as a downpour started. The Tru rooms are fairly barebones. It kinda feels like a dorm room but it's comfortable and all I need for most of my travel. As soon as I got in the room, the AC unit kicked on and it was LOUD with a pulsing vibration. Before reporting it as a problem I checked out the window by the wall, I lifted up the small flap/door and the noise stopped. Perfect. Problem solved. I really like that these properties have black-out shades. I almost always sleep like the dead. I mostly did here except there is a built in night light and it was really bright. Room is very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is good. Pretty basic with one or two hot items and a pancake machine. You can spread out anywhere in the lobby. My main tip for this property: even numbered rooms face out towards the parking lot and the mountains. I love the views as I washed the rainstorm come and go. I'd stay here again.
