There is a little kitchen stocked with cookware and dishes. We loved making coffee in the morning. It is pet friendly. It was such a wonderful experience. I was looking for something unique since we were celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary. Rebecca made our stay very special. She brought us a card, flowers and a bottle of Biltmore Estate wine. That was so sweet of her. We got to meet Hugo! What a sweet and gentle kitty. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for an amazing, cozy little cabin.

I have stayed here twice, both times in the upper right-hand room with access to the wonderful covered porch. Rooms are comfortable, yet not fancy, and the innkeeper's, long-time Black Mountain residents, are delightful people who go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Have stayed most everywhere in Black Mountain, and this is my second favorite place. Recommend it highly.

I appreciated the thoughtful touches like the free snacks--though I didn't receive the macarons mentioned in other reviews. That said, there were a few issues that affected my stay. There was an odd, bright light just outside the bedroom that made it difficult to sleep. Street noise is significantly louder than reviews suggest--you can hear everything from outside, which might be disruptive for light sleepers. While the interior felt very secure, the surrounding area felt a bit unsafe, especially with a noticeable presence of unhoused individuals nearby. The walk to the free parking was especially sketchy and would definitely benefit from better lighting. Additionally, more detailed information online about pet accommodations would be helpful for future guests. Overall, it's a phenomenal Airbnb in terms of design and amenities, but it doesn't quite meet the standard of a hotel in terms of comfort or external environment.

My wife and I decided to take a babymoon to Asheville while she's pregnant. We wanted a relaxing…read moregetaway and decided to splurge a little on what we thought would be a nicer stay at the Moxy. Based on the reviews, we expected the amenities and overall experience to make it worth it. We have one day left of a five-day stay, and unfortunately, we've been disappointed almost the entire time. We weren't expecting luxury treatment. We were expecting the basics, and even those have been a struggle. First, you need to specifically request housekeeping even when staying multiple days. Fine. The problem is that even when you request it, there's a good chance it still won't happen. We requested housekeeping three different times on three different days. On the day we were assured our room would finally be serviced, we left around 8:30 AM and requested it again on our way out. We came back around 1:30 PM and nothing had been done. I went downstairs and spoke with a manager, who assured me he was contacting the head of housekeeping. We had planned to relax in our room after being out all morning, but ended up leaving again just so they could clean it. About an hour later, we came back to what I can only describe as a half-cleaned room with very little effort put into it. Our trash was left behind, dirty towels were still there, and even the dirt from sweeping was left sitting in the middle of the floor. Worse, housekeeping actually took away the extra pillow my pregnant wife had been using. I'm writing this at 2:30 AM because I can't sleep. I gave her my pillow, and there are apparently no extra pillows in any of the housekeeping closets. I've tried calling downstairs and the phone just rings nonstop. The towel situation has been just as frustrating. No towels at the pool, no towels in the supply closet, and now no towels in our room. These are basic hotel necessities. The parking pass system has also been a mess. It worked once and then stopped working. We spent about 15 minutes getting that fixed and now get to see if it actually works tomorrow. A few other things worth knowing: the rooms are pretty small, basically big enough to turn around in. The TV placement is awkward enough that you practically have to crank your neck to watch it from the bed. They also pump fragrance through the hallways, which in 2026 feels like a strange choice considering how many people are sensitive to artificial fragrances and the growing concerns around some fragrance chemicals and endocrine disruption. Any one of these things by itself wouldn't ruin a trip. Things happen. But when you're repeatedly asking for basic housekeeping, towels, pillows and assistance and still can't get them, it becomes a pattern. I've stayed at Marriott properties all over the world, and I'm genuinely shocked that this has been our experience. We specifically chose this hotel for a relaxing babymoon, and instead I'm awake at 2:30 in the morning writing a review because I gave my pregnant wife my pillow and can't get anyone at the front desk to answer the phone. This was our first stay at a Moxy, and unfortunately it will also be our last. Easily one of the worst guest experiences I've had at a Marriott property.

There is a nice seating area outside for the winter with table top fireplaces. Brand new never used.. tells me that no one ever even thought about turning it on. Plus you can't get back inside once you step outside. The doors are locked from the inside. TV's in the lobby and breakfast area are not on either and it looks quite dark. There are also no cameras in the gym. I hate to say this but if someone would get hurt they better have their phone close by... The front desk day staff: 5 stars. Not only did the ladies looked impeccable they were also super nice, very professional and helpful. The evening front desk staff: Slouching at the counter, barely looking up when guests come through the front door, browsing on the phone, totally dressed down in jeans and pullover is just not a good look. Breakfast staff: oh my... the lady is: very unfriendly. I asked a question and accidentally didn't close the lid to the egg pan all the way. She promptly jumped on me in a very unfriendly manner. Housekeeping: Sweet lady! Great service!!! Our room looked good!!! She didn't speak an English but with the help of a translator app: all good :)

Front desk staff was very friendly and they had a nice complimentary breakfast available. I would stay here again. Good location right outside downtown so not too busy but easy to get downtown via car or Uber. There's also a Starbucks essentially in the parking lot of the hotel.
