I definitely recommend the pork and beef sandwiches here. I'm not a big fan of wings in general (I think they're too much work for how little meat there is) but I probably missed out. My only negative thing about here is that when you get the 99 cent sandwich day, the sandwiches are noticeably smaller than on the rest of the days of the week. Go here read more

This is a great BBQ restaurant. I have traveled all over and this is one of my favorites. It can get crowded at times but the food keeps me coming back for more. My family loves the Slick Pig! We recently moved here from California and of course we were in search of some good BBQ. We were told about the Slick Pig and decided to try it. We went and it was fairly busy. They have mostly booths for the tables and they have a very active carry-out line. They have now recently renovated a bit and the place looks great! Our first time there we decided to order a few things to try. We ordered Brisket, Chicken Wings, Pulled Pork, Hush Puppies, Mac & Cheese, and their famous Banana pudding. Let me tell you, there was no disappointment what so ever as my family became so quiet. We chowed down and even my 2-year-old daughter was in Mac & Cheese heaven. Our favorite item is the Pulled Pork by far and the MOPS bbq sauce is so good! I think on Tuesday's they have $0.99 Pulled Pork sliders that are phenomenal. LOVE THIS PLACE! read more

I can't say enough about this place. I've only eaten a meal there once, but that's all it took. Almost a year ago my wife and I had tried about a dozen or so barbecue joints here in Middle Tennessee when we almost gave up on finding something we truly loved at a reasonable price. Then our wedding coordinator Tracey at Cheval Manor Ranch told us about a little place called Slick Pig. From the initial tasting to the final result, they were absolutely awesome to have cater our reception. We actually got married yesterday and I couldn't wait to post this because of how much I love this place. We got their shredded pork and chicken, slaw, baked beans and the best potato salad I've ever had that wasn't my mom's. Between Matt showing up 30 minutes early after a last minute change due to weather, to every single one of our guests, including Nashville locals loyal to Edley's or Martin's asking where we got it from, it was incredible. My husband and I stopped in The Slick Pig after reading all of the great reviews while traveling on the interstate. We were very disappointed in the meal. I had the pork plate with slaw and chips. The meat was very bland and mushy. The sauces were equally bland. The slaw was average slaw, neither good nor bad. The garlic toast was very good. My husband got the brisket sandwich and beans. He said the beans tasted like canned beans and the brisket was not good. However, the fries were seasoned well and fresh. They were good! We both ended up trashing the majority of our meal. read more

I throughly enjoyed my entire meal here. The proportions were nice. Which is a plus because I find at times other BBQ joints don't dole out large servings when I've ordered brisket in the past. The chicken was smoked so long it was like cardboard, the flat corn bread was old and tasteless, the pulled pork had no smoke flavor and also tasteless. Don't get me started on the hush puppies, they need help. I have to say the catfish was perfect. This place could be so much more but they are in a rut. Husband had all-you-can-eat catfish, which he took advantage of, even though he said it was tough. We are certified BBQ judges so we know good BBQ - this was not. Busy place, though. I have lived in Murfreesboro my whole life and to me, Slick Pig is BBQ. I have been to all the Meccas of BBQ: Memphis, Texas, North Carolina, St Louis, and Kansas City; and still nothing trumps Slick Pig's unique flavor.
