If you have ever driven up or down I-24 in Middle Tennessee then there is a good chance that you have seen a few Toot's billboards! This Toot's, situated at the corner of NW Broad and Medical Center Parkway is the OG for the restaurant. While there are others, there is only one original Toot's! Folks ask how I would describe this Toot's location and every time I have them picture a local Hooters without the uniform mixed with a Cracker Barrel with a Panama City Beach vibe...While I could say many other things, that usually sums it up and is pretty spot on. Toot's is definitely a brand and is well known in the area, and quite popular as they have multiple locations around the 'boro. The brand has been built off of local vibes, cheap food and friendly service. While Toot's is a local institution, there really is nothing wildly special about what they offer. Most of their menu is standard from burgers, sandwiches, wings, seafood, salads, etc...and within that menu, most of those items are fried. So, if you are counting calories, Toot's is not the spot for you! They are famous for their fried pickles, so you know we started with an order. The pickles are lightly breaded, crispy and served with ranch dipping sauce. Again, nothing special...even from their specialty item. For our mains we both got a 15 count of wings, I went cajun dry rub and my pal went buffalo. The wings were the best part of the meal for sure. They were fried well, seasoned nicely, plump and juicy...all the things you want from a wing! For our sides, my buddy went fries and I went side caesar salad. His fries were standard, but done well. My salad was a bit odd, as it was legit a side salad including onions, boiled eggs, cucumber, etc...with caesar dressing. I guess I should have been more descriptive or inquisitive when I initially ordered it. Pricing was excellent, surprisingly affordable, especially for the service sizes! Service was good. Greeter was friendly and sat us quickly, and our server was friendly, engaging and efficient. No issues with service at all. I can see the allure for the local crowd. This can be a decent spot for a well priced and filling meal, and can even be a good place to belly up to the bar and watch some sports. While I would not go out of my way to visit Toot's, I definitely wouldn't say no on occasion as a local. read more

If you live in the Boro and you're hunting for a wing-and-beer spot, stop scrolling and head straight to the original location on NW Broad serving up goodness since 1985. This place has bar seating, high tops, booths... basically whatever level of wing commitment you're comfortable with. We grabbed seats at the bar, and the service was quick, friendly, and on point. To kick things off, my wife ordered a frosty Blue Moon with the classic orange slice. I went with water... mainly because I needed to stay focused for the wing mission ahead. First up: Fried Dill Pickles. These were absolutely fantastic, lightly battered, crispy, flavorful, and dangerously addictive. If you skip these, you're already making bad life choices. Now for the main event... the food! I used to be a die-hard bone-in wing guy, but Toot's Buffalo-Style Chicken Fingers may have converted me. I ordered 10 fingers, 5 Mango Habanero (because apparently I enjoy sweating while eating) and 5 Honey BBQ to cool my taste buds back down. Both were finger-lickin' good, and the side of tots sealed the deal. My wife ordered the Chicken Finger Salad because she thought she was making a healthy choice... until chicken fingers showed up on top. Nice try, babe. Bottom line: if you live in the Boro, or you're heading there for college, you need to try this place. We live in Franklin and gladly make the 30-minute drive for a Toot's road trip. I just love Toots always consistently great food and service. We prefer Smyrna location but we're in the area and came here today. I did notice that this location is much quieter than Smyrna. Toots will give you wings! And quite tasty ones as well. I'm not even a fan of wings, but these wings were SO good. What is so good about them is the crisp they manage to keep, while smothered in sauce of your choice (we chose the mild buffalo). While we were visiting Murfreesboro a few weeks back, we ordered these to-go. I am still thinking about them back at home. The onion rings were good as well, the fries not so much when ordered for take out. That will not change my mind about their wings though. Service in this rather crowded restaurant was mixed. I'd like to say it was good - great, but several servers in our area stopped to chat with their friend in the adjacent booth, spending a lot of time doing that. In fact, all the portions were very nice size - that is to say BIG. The three steak style sliders I had were OK. But just that. They proved a little chewy-tough. They should've only been grilled lightly, but instead, were overdone. The biggest greasy drawback were the rings that looked amazing. My wife and I decided to try toots after having a discussion with the car dealership by a new car. We were told that we could sit wherever we want, which was fine. Our server came over promptly for our drink order and our appetizer order. Beverage just came over in a reasonable time. We ordered our meals And we're very very surprised by how quickly they came out. I had the Philly cheesesteak fries and my wife had the sampler platter. The Philly cheesesteak was good, but the peppers and onions could've been cooked a little bit more. They were just barely above raw, but it was still good. My wife's sampler prayer she enjoyed although the deep-fried pickles were a little greasy. The value for what we got I have no complaints about. Toot's is the taste of Murfreesboro. You must visit when in town. There are four locations, but this one feels the most authentic-- being this is the original restaurant. Open late until 11 or 12 (depending on the day), Toot's has the best bar food in Murfreesboro. They always have great daily specials, check the marquee outside for the updated deal and a funny pun, too! My absolute favorite thing to order is the fried chicken tender basket with curly fries. The chicken breading is great and the fries are always the perfect golden brown. The Toot's brownie blast is an absolute killer way to end a meal, too-- with a warm brownie, ice cream, caramel, fudge, and whipped cream (complete with a cherry on top). Personally I hate pickles, but everyone in the family loves the fried pickle baskets! They're a local staple, so I'd recommend those to anyone--unless you despise pickles like me. I have visited 3 of the 4 Toot's and always have good service, good food, and good fun. I also love to order Toot's to-go or on Uber Eats. Was in the area and wanted to try this place as I see signs for it quite often. It's a real cool joint. More like a rock sport bar. Cool stuff on the walls and hanging from the ceiling. I had the cheeseburger with curly fries and got to say that was a kickass burger . Our server was great and think there's free refills . Sports on the tv's and really good crowd. The Philly Cheese Steak is served on a Hoagie Bun that is stuff with properly seasoned steak, topped with mushrooms, sliced onions, bell peppers topped with melted provolone cheese The Original versions of the reuben has the moist lean corned beef, topped with sauerkraut with Swiss cheese on a marble German rye bread covered in Thousand Island Dressing or it is also available served on the side. The other excellent option is the French Dip, served sirloin steak on a Hoagie roll, topped with a horseradish sauces, served with au jus, Swiss Cheese and a pickle provides a excellent lunch. We could choose just one so we had all three. They were amazing. You should also try the chicken wings here as well. We have to try them in the future. There were 8 of us and it was $175 but definitely not worth that as I really did not enjoy the food. My husband got the Philly steak wrap (I think) but it was very over cooked and not very good. First upon coming in there was hostess, and there was 7 tables empty of customers and covered with dirty dishes. All of the servers were gathered around the register and window. We went to this Toot's restaurant for Fathers Day on June 18th. We chose this location since we had such a great experience about a month earlier here. This most recent visit was less than a "great" experience though and I doubt we will come back again. We were promptly seated, waitress came promptly and took our drink order as well as an appetizer and our meal order. The appetizer arrived promptly and was great. But when our food order arrived, some other waitress just dropped them on the table, said nothing and left quickly. We were left with No dinnerware, salt shaker was empty and we could not get hold of our waitress, so we sat waiting, trying to get someone's attention while our food got colder. Finally got a different person to bring us some dinnerware and a salt shaker. It was at this point that my wife said to me that her Onion Rings were completely undercooked and soggy inside. When our original waitress finally came by, my wife requested a fresh order of O'rings properly cooked, but the waitress only offered to take her original partially eaten O'rings back to the kitchen and put them back in the fryer for a couple more minutes. Gross! My "Savory" Carolina Baby Back ribs were completely overpriced for the little amount of ribs served, and they were completely dried out, Tasteless, and had burnt char on all the ribs. No refill on our waters, no inquiry as to how everything was past the initial stop by. I fully intended to comment if asked at the cash register how was the meals, but the inquiry never came, so I leave my comments here.
