Sliders Bar & Grill is part of the large indoor waterpark in eastern Rapid City. You do not need to pay to enter Sliders, but they also provide food and drinks to those visiting the waterpark. Parking is abundant, but shared with the hotels and waterpark. The primary purpose here is to provide beer and frozen drinks to parents visiting the waterpark. This can be nice if one of the more attractive ones stops by in their swimsuit and provides some eye candy. It can also be equally bad. The bar has part of the waterslide over the bar area, so you can often see children sliding down and sometimes getting stuck. There are several large televisions and a nice set of windows that can open. I actually enjoyed my drinks here due mainly to the raucous bartenders and patrons, but the overall experience was a little weird. It is the only bar in this hotel complex, so you don't have much of a choice. There is a full bar with many options, but it is not really a quiet place to get a drink after a long day on the road. We were staying at the Fairfield. Tried to call but no answer. Started to order online but the wait was 2.5 hours. Walked down to order, no line, restaurant 1/5 full, wait time for food 20 minutes. If you get it delivered to your room it's a 25% charge of the total order. We ordered one side salad, one order of boneless wings, 2 orders of wings, 2 pops. $60. So delivery would be $15! Walked down 25 minutes later to the over-fried food. Wings were mediocre but the ranch was good! Boneless wings were terrible. Food took 20 minutes and the five of us were the biggest part of the crowd. When the food arrived it was poor quality. The chips appear to be homemade but they were hard as a rock. Pizza was not even to Tombstone or Red Barron quality. My salad was ok but its kind of hard to nit get this correct. Prices were reasonable but value was not there. Service was great- the staff was there to greet with a smile, took orders at the cash register with good customer service and the person that brought out our pizza and sub made sure to check in that everything looked ok. The pizza wasn't Chicago deep dish ( or whatever your ideal pizza is) but it was still really good especially for the price. The Cajun Chicken sub was great too. The drinks from the bar were decent and they had pretty nice BOGO happy hour specials as well. I would definitely come back. As other customers mentioned, yes- you will have to order from the cash register and then sit and someone will need to bring your food out to you but this isn't a huge deal if you are in the water park all day. After getting the first round I went to the bar and asked for a cup of water. They said "no". As I stood there confused they explained "management doesn't want us to give away water we have to sell bottled water". Stupid policy for when you have parents willing to spend money on booze while their kids play. Beyond the water policy the bar tenders were slow and generally unfriendly. If it wasn't for the pool attendant they would have only received one star. They made an extra $2 on a bottle of water but if they had more customer friendly policies, and staff that actually cared, then I likely would have spent more at the bar. We are from Rapid City and stayed in one of the hotels for a "staycation" as our furnace was out at home. We booked two rooms the day of as my mother was planning to come up and join us. My mom ended up getting sick so she was not able to come. We could not cancel the second room due to their 24-hour cancellation policy, which was totally fine and understandable. But.... Each room came with two free drink tickets (for a total of 4). When we went to use our second set of tickets the rude bartender would not honor them because "we'd already used ours." Never mind that we were paying for an entire hotel room that NOBODY would be using or sleeping in. We explained our situation and he did not care. Later on we ordered room service and got some mediocre bar food. I'm only giving the restaurant two stars because the gal who brought the food up to our room was super friendly and kind!! My boyfriend and I frequently stay at the Residence Inn attached to this restaurant. We have sat at the bar and had service that was just okay so many times.. Tonight was OUTSTANDING! Beer selection is very limited, food is average but limited to pizza, hamburgers, fries...etc. The bartenders were friendly, but the atmosphere needs work. BEWARE!!!! There was a very clearly sick girl working there, she was coughing and sniffling and clammy and pale. My guess is she had the flu! In addition, it is across the street from a college satellite campus and 3.5 miles from a four-year university. Are college kids working here? YES! My bartender, Cody, informed me of the happy hour specials, and I took advantage of the beer special. They have eight beers on tap (five micros, two domestics and Corona) and a respectable liquor selection (Grey Goose, Tito's, Patron, Buffalo Trace, Maker's Mark, Bacardi, etc.). The food selection was available at the bar from Mario's Pizza next door. They brought it over. I had the wings in sweet chili sauce. Was it great? Was it awful? Was it just fine for a BAR WITH A WATER SLIDE THROUGH IT?!? YES! Prices weren't bad.
