Quick place to stop for some chicken tenders. The thing about Slim chickens is ordering the sauce, but not knowing which sauce you like you're tempted to buy several so I went with typical favorites, buffalo and mango habanero... They were good I don't know if options are available for sides, because I was served fries, but I would've liked to try deep fried mushrooms or another choice if it was an option... I also learned from a customer that you can have the tenders tossed in the sauce rather than plain. Both might have made this a 5 star.

Slim Chickens is my favorite place to have Chicken Strips/Tenders of any place out there. Their chicken is just the best! And the dipping sauces are too numerous to mention. And one of my most favorite things here is their Peach Tea Oh Sooo Good!

Not a bad spot at all. We pretty much just went up to the counter, ordered our food, grabbed a number, and sat down. They brought our food out to us. Their drink station set up was pretty nice and clean. I liked that a lot. Their sweet tea was good. I tried their fried chicken tenders salad. It was very good. I honestly didn't have high expectations for the food here, but it was actually pretty good. I liked it a lot. I thought they were going to use iceberg for my salad like at other places, but they didn't. I loved that a lot since I'm not a fan of iceberg lettuce. They really went above and beyond for their salads. It was really good. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and cooked, too. Their wings were also cooked perfectly. It wasn't over cooked or undercooked. They weren't dry either. It was nice and juicy, which is hard to find- even at wing spots. I tried it on their new Nashville hot chicken flavor. The flavor was pretty good. If you're looking for the heat spice, it wasn't there, but it was still good. I will definitely be back because I liked the food here. The restrooms were also clean. Good job!

Service was great, but the food wasn't good. The chicken is dry & fries are nasty. Not sure if it was just that day, but not trying again.

Very Excited to had seen there was a "Slim Chickens" in the Murfreesboro,TN area! Although, I didn't dine in Drive-Thru Staff was friendly, hospitable and welcoming. Food was amazing as always. They took care of my order, offered sides and gave me a extra Buffalo sauce to enjoy my meal! Hope to run into more "Slim chickens" Locations in the near future since my first time was in Russellville, AR.

Slims oh slims how I was disappointed :( I've been here plenty of times before and they've been good, but that's it, just good. The most recent time I went I got their Nashville hot chicken sandwich (a new menu item) and was incredibly saddened to taste absolutely no spice on the sandwich at all. I'm one to compare Nashville hot chicken sandwiches and must say that Hattie B's is light-years ahead of this one and, for a more local spot, party fowl's are superior as well. We went up to see if they gave us the wrong sandwich by mistake and they said that "the coleslaw and buttery bun calms down the heat". I disagree with that statement because I didn't taste a single spice on this chicken sandwich not even a black pepper spice, there was NONE! They said they have received complaints about it. Being an Arkansas based company, if you dare come to Tennessee and disrespect the Nashville hot name by making a "hot sandwich" a 2 year old could enjoy, then you're in for some backlash. They settled our complaint with some "spicy dry rub seasoning to sprinkle on the sandwich, which also wasn't spicy. It resembled a cinnamon sugar seasoning more than a spicy seasoning to be honest. On top of that, the chicken was tough, didn't seem fresh. The fries were good but that's about it. Their Mac and cheese was also just okay, nothing crazy. Slims has continued to be mid in my eyes and isn't my first chicken option in Murfreesboro. ALSO, once they started to close we started leaving the restaurant and one of the associates threw out one of our take home boxes of food. After bringing it to her attention she said 'oh I'm sorry I didn't know" and proceeded to clean the tables. My friend responded with, "well, could I get it back?" And she made him open up the trash can to get it. Very poor service...

Buffalo chicken Buffalo Wrap Meal with chips

I got Buffalo wrap-good but definitely spicy so got a dice of honey mustard to soften the spice. Chicken tenders were crispy but soft and fresh inside- slim in size. We loved the fresh chips for our sides-crisp, salty and flavorful almost like garlic powder or maybe onion powder ( not quite sure of the seasoning) but so good. Drive they lines long with two lanes. Our ticket for two meals was $19.

The chicken is always hot, fresh, and good! Love the variety of flavors! We need a location in Nashville!

Very greasy but decent. I love the deserts, especially how they are presented in jars. That is a cute added bonus.

The fried chicken is cooked to order so I went with the white meat option (breast and wing) and I added a thigh. For sides I selected the pinto beans, cabbage, and sweet potatoes along with a fountain drink. You may have to wait 15 minutes for the chicken...but the chicken Adrian serves up would make your Granny jealous. This was some of the best fried chicken I've had in a very long time, crispy skin that was not overly seasoned and the meat was tender and juicy. While the chicken was excellent, the sides were saying "you ain't tasted nothing yet"!!! Pinto beans had a great depth to the flavor with a rich sauce and tender beans. The sweet potatoes were not overly sweetened (like candied) and you could taste the sweet potato, slightly firm, and reminded me of Thanksgiving. I saved the best for last...the cabbage. Many times cabbage offered is just boiled, but Adrian adds some secret ingredients and it is awesome. So while the meat was excellent, the sides are created in true Southern tradition. Several homemade desserts were available...but I was stuffed. The location may be difficult to get into with traffic, but the food that awaits you is well worth it. Pay Adrian a visit and enjoy some good old home cooking right here in Murfreesboro.

Date of Visit: July 1, 2026…read more After driving all day the previous day we were wanting a real good county breakfast. My wife told me she had just the place in mind and I've been there before too (City Cafe). But when we arrived we saw they were permanently closed, dang. I could taste it. Then the wife recommended Puckett's and they are just around the the corner, a short walk. As we walked up on the place I noticed the marque, retro. The inside was bit as well. We were quickly seated and drink orders taken. This was a weekday morning visit so not too busy. Looking over the menu, I may not have looked close enough, I decided on the "Build your own Omelette". Onions, tomatoes and pepper jack cheese. The wife ordered the B&G. I noticed I wasn't asked about my side? I wounded potatoes. Also rye bread with my omelette, hmmm. Our food arrived, all looked good. I saw my order came with what looked like frozen type of potatoes, perfect squares. I was expecting something home cooked, fried potatoes with burnt edges. Flavor. The wife's B&G looked great, two basques and potatoes as well. The omelette was good, plenty of everything and filled. The wife said here B&G was really good and she's a B&G expert. Over all, all was good just disappointed with the potatoes option and no rye toast. Perhaps they could consider fresh cut potatoes along with the frozen type. Also maybe offer some type of toast. Give the place try if your on the square. Peace.

Date of Visit: July 2, 2026…read more On this afternoon my wife wanted to take me on a country drive after an overwhelming day in Murfreesboro the day before. Murfreesboro used be an easy navigable town, not no more, so many people. So off we went. Heading out towards Chapel Hill we came up the Fried Tater Cafe. After yesterday (if your following) I needed something authentic to the area and this looked the part. We both agreed to stop. Walked inside and I knew right away this going to be great. We were greeted and told to sit anywhere. Nice. Found a booth against the wall and were given menus and drink orders taken. Drinks came while still viewing the menu. I almost wanted a burger but chose the patty melt with coleslaw. I was going to have fries but they have those Checkers type fries. My wife had the BLT with Tots and after having a couple of her tots I should of had the tots. My wife even agrees, these are the best tots she has ever had and she has tots when ever offered. These had the crispy outside that you can bite into without crushing and fluffy innerds mmmmm. But getting back to my patty melt. The menu said it came with thousand island dressing. I would usually hold the TI, but now I'm in a phase where I order with no substitutions. So I took it with the Thousand island. And so glad I did, it did something to it. Don't know if everyone does this but wow. And the slaw was good too, though I wish I had gotten the tots, next time tots. The wife and I will be back here next time in town for sure, if just for the drive. Peace.
