If I could give more stars I would. Jim and Isaac were awesome. I needed a new key fob for my push button start car and sent a few yelp estimate requests. Jim responded very quickly with a quote and said he could come that day. We had some problems as my car was stubborn but Jim and His team were determine to get it fixed for me and did research and made calls until they were able to figure it out. They came to my house 3 times to keep trying and and 3rd time was the charm. They kept me informed the entire time I never had to wonder what was happening. I recently needed to change my apartment front door lock, because a new roommate was going to move in. However, when I discovered that the old lock had an abnormally long latch, I called Slim Jim's for advice. The lady who answered said she could simply re-key the old lock for me, so I headed right over. A short while later, I had a new cylinder in the old lock, with no need to go searching and buying a new lock with a long latch. Really horrible customer service. The man I talked to over the phone was extremely rude and sounded irritated just asking for my address ect. I was really close to just hanging up because his attitude was that bad, but in the end they couldn't even help anyway. I had been having problems with my ignition key not turning and sometimes I couldn't even get it into the keyhole. This had been going on for months but due to low funds I kept putting it off. Finally, after misplacing my key I had no choice but to call a locksmith. Slim Jim's was the locksmith recommended by AAA. When Jim got to my car he was professional and courteous - not the typical service kind of guy who grunts his words out so you can barely hear what he's saying. Jim kept me in the loop as to what he was doing and showed me what was broken and explained how he would fix it. He cut me two keys, the kind with chips in them, and changed my ignition cylinder. He did it it quickly as well. He was honest, and his prices were about 2/3 what a mechanic had quoted me a few months prior. I was so happy that I took some of his business cards into my gym, where my car was parked when he serviced the lock, and gave them to the receptionist. I told her she should give them to the patrons who lock themselves out of their cars. She said the patrons do that often so she was glad to have some to give out. I highly recommend Slim Jim's to anyone who lives or works in central and northern Contra Costa County, parts of Alameda county, even through Vallejo up to Fairfield.
