Slime Kitchen is a cool one and done experience for most, but maybe a staple activity for some... We visited the Slime Kitchen Reno with our two boys on a weekday. It wasn't busy and the two young girls working greeted us quickly and got us started on some slime making. The experience itself is really cool. It lasts quite awhile and there are tons of steps from texture to aroma to colors. Every step involves some level of decision making so if you have a really little one, like I do, it's definitely best to accompany them through the whole thing. A grade school aged kid could mostly do everything on their own. After choosing some texture, color, smells, and mixing, you can play with your slime for as long as you'd like. Then you can do your mix ins and package it up. The cost is the toughest thing to stomach about this place. It's $25 to make a slime, so for my two kids and taxes, it was nearly $60 to make something that will likely eventually have to be thrown away. The prices on the retail slimes that you could buy and make at home seemed much more reasonable- around $15. I loved this for my kids- but just this once. I think it would have to be a special occasion to come back and do it again. I could see myself picking up a retail slime for a gift. If you don't mind the $25 price tag, this could be a staple experience for you! Still 5 stars in my book. read more

After having ice cream at Cold Stone, my kid wanted to go to Slime Kitchen which was just across the parking lot. We walked inside and the place was packed. We were greeted as we walked in. It appeared they were very busy but they helped us pretty quick. The lady explained to us how everything works and what to pick. My kid put on an apron an he started picking out the type of slime and color he wanted. He even got to pick out the scent. After the mixer, he got to add more things in his slime and mix it around himself. He had fun making slime. We got here right when they opened, but they already had a large birthday party so it was kind of tough to hear the employees giving the instruction etc. They had so many different types of slime, scent, and the little add ins for texture, color, and toys. It was about a 30 min experience, but we were left alone for the most part because most of the employees were busy with the party. My kid had a wonderful time and the slime is still holding up so well (just now getting to this review almost 5 months later). Came in on a Friday afternoon and there was already a waitlist of an hour. They added us to the list and called us when our table was ready. There was about 4-5 employees working. Most were friendly and greeted us upon arrival. Throughout the slime making process, the team was helpful and made sure we understood everything. It's a bit overwhelming with so many options. The tables and stools are kid friendly, not so much adult friendly. Small and low to the ground, so be prepared if you plan to sit with the kiddos. So far the slime has held up and still in good condition after making it 4 days ago. We paid $25 for 1 slime session. You can pick your own slime type, scent, color, textures, and other included mix-ins and toppers. There are additional add-ons for an up charge. You can also walk-in to buy pre-made slime kits, they have quite a bit of options to choose from. Overall, it's a fun experience for the kids. My niece loved it! If the kiddos like slime, I recommend checking this place out. They accept small and large groups. I recommend making a reservation if you plan to go during busy times or have a large group. I loved the Slime Kitchen as much as my son did. Staff was super welcoming and informative; they walked us through all of the steps. Too bad this place wasn't here when my teenage daughter was younger. My kitchen was a slime kitchen when my daughter and her girlfriends went through their slime phases of trial and error. Lol! If you're going to play with the slime with your little ones, do grab an apron. I got glue all over my blouse. My son and I enjoyed our hour playing and making slime here. It's a little pricey, but we enjoyed it. They do sell gift boxes and pre-made slime; it'll make for a great gift. Overall, it was an awesome time and a great idea for a party for your littles. My grandson and I stopped by here today around noon. The place was busy but not overly crowded or loud. We were helped quickly and were soon on our way to making some fun slime. There are aprons to protect clothing and small tables and chairs (work stations). The multi-step process is a lot of fun. You first get to choose which slime consistency you like. There were six to choose from. Next comes the added scents. I would guess there to be about 30 choices. We went with bubble gum but there are some fun ones which include "monkey farts" and "unicorn". Next is the color. The friendly young lady and (I'm assuming her mom) were very helpful and knowledgeable. My grandson has some sensory issues so when the slime got all over his hands and wouldn't come off, the lady took us to the sink in back, helped him get the slime off and told us how to work with the slime so it wouldn't be too sticky. She sprayed it with magic slime spray and it did the trick. After mixing comes the glitter or confetti. Then you have a choice of what kind of sensory stuff you want to add. A few of the choices include space sand, small squishy spheres, foam cubes and lots more. After that it's time for the three "toppings". There are so many cute figurines to choose from. My grandson chose a Starbucks cup, Pikachu and an airplane. Overall, this place is a total blast. We were in and out in 30 minutes but you could definitely spend some more time making choices. Fun new place in town for kiddos to spend time! My 5.5 year old really enjoyed the time here. I do wish that they were taking reservations, as when we went it got pretty busy and things got chaotic with not knowing which step to do next. We went here on Friday night 35 minutes before the close the store. It was nice because only my niece, me and the store associate. We looked around and directions are pretty clear for me and my 11 year niece. The store associate guided us step by step on how we will do it. Of course my niece is a big fan of slime she knows what she wants. My downside, the tables are only catered for smaller kids ages 3-7, my niece has to bent over in a awkward way. Maybe the bin is too big to carry it all the time, I might see that as a problem when the place is crowded. The spacing of toppings might be close to each other it could have been spread all over the place. She chose the flavor bubble gum, but I don't smell the bubble gum maybe that's me. My niece only complain was that the gems are limited to her liking. We didn't realize on the other side of the wall that they have pre-made slime, honestly I feel the choses are even better. We ended up buying the Kuromi slime. There can be some room for improvements, because the place is huge. I would recommend to try it with your little ones, but make sure to be prepared with the prices. I paid for two $43 dollars, I included with tip cause the store associate was super nice and sweet to us. But it's up to everyone if they want to tip if they got the service they needed. Slime kitchen is awesome! I went here with my mom and there are so many different and unique options for creating your own slime, like cloud slime, rose scent, and Starbucks charms. The ambience is very fun, and they guide you through the whole process, but still let you make it yourself. **Don't host a party here** The overall appearance is great as well as the concept. However the customer service, when it comes to hosting a child's birthday party, is less than impressive. A party I attended hosted around 15 children and paid full price for all of them, yet we were told there wasn't room for the parents to be inside with the children. I am not sure what they expect parents of 2-5 year old children to do while their kids are there? Is the staff going to help the kids if they have issues or need to go to the bathroom? If the kids had been walk in customers, there is no way they would have asked the parents to leave. On top of that, some of the kids waited 45 minutes before they were provided the supplies to even get started on their slime (the party was only 2 hours long). They proceeded to come out singing happy birthday with no notice and both parents of the birthday child weren't even present at the time. Wouldn't you confirm with the family that everyone is ready beforehand? Servicing the customer was the least of their concerns, even though we had prepaid a "very high" price to host the party. The walk in customers received much better customer service than we did, assuming because they were additional revenue in their eyes. The irony is that we were told we would have priority to all walk in customers when it came to assistance and use of the facilities. The final straw was, as we cleaned up (using our own trash bags we brought luckily, as none were provided), not one person came over to thank us for our business or see if we needed anything further. I can't attest to the experience of walk in customers, but do not host any parties here, as you will spend a lot of money to be very disappointed. I was hoping this business would be successful, but they don't have a chance. The 15 families that were at the party have already shared their poor experience with everyone they know, so word is going to spread quickly. read more

We went to Slime Kitchen opening weekend and my daughter had the time of her life (age 5 1/2). What was surprising was how much fun my wife and I had! We thought we would just watch her but it's so much fun for adults, older kids and teens as well. We felt the experience and take home slime was such a value as we now have our containers on our kitchen counter and it's the first thing people grab when sitting at the kitchen bar. Our teenagers love it and have gone with friends. Having the bakery next door and Reno Public Market right there, it's a great way to have something fun to do and grab a bite to eat. I came in on Monday, 1-6-25, for the "DIY experience" with my two little girls. We spent about 45 minutes making and playing with our slime before checkout. While it was a little pricey (25 dollars/DIY slime), I feel it was well worth it to spend that time with my kiddos and watch them experience complete creative freedom. The day we came in was slow we had the place mostly to ourselves but after talking to some of the employees I learned that it was the first day since opening that it wasn't busy, I also learned that this was one of the employee's first day. and even knowing that I felt they did an awesome job, they answered all my questions and encouraged my girls in their slime choices. now that it's been over a week I can say that the slimes hold up well, so far it's only got stuck to one piece of clothing, and it washed right out, and they have remained unsticky and they don't rip. I highly recommend this activity if you want to have some sit-down time with your kids while they have some fun. read more
