4 of us did the diamond heist room yesterday. It was great, we had a lot of fun. Made it out with 8 mins to spare. We've done a few escape rooms over the years and this one was right up there. We had so much fun here! We've done quite a few escape rooms and we definitely appreciated the attention to detail they have put into their rooms. We've completed the sorcerer one as well as the submarine escape room. The sorcerer room reminded me of Harry Potter ( you get wands!) and with the submarine room, they really make you feel like you're in a sub. Both rooms are large with multiple rooms and the staff were friendly enough, especially for being so busy on a Sunday night. Can't wait to try the other rooms! read more

Quality/Quantity - Wow, I mean wow!! My first time doing an escape room in Reno (not my daughters' first time) and I was so impressed! After arguing for a day about what level we should do, I won and we decided on the 40% success. And we still did NOT finish. One clue left undone. Today we did The Sorcerer and The Fountain of Hope. Atmosphere - Small independent locally owned business, supporting locals! But it also means that the GSR comps did not work here. Cool decor, but you can see most rooms were worn. But it did not bother us much. Well, it did affect a clue or two. No cell phones allowed. Only one competitor has allowed us to use our phones, mainly as a flashlight. Open 7 days a week from 10am to 11pm. Our room had 7 rooms! Our most rooms in the past have been 3. Service - 5 stars. Online reservations were user friendly and easy. Oh, and no walk-ins. The young lady was polite and welcoming. Gave us clues when needed. Did not get irritated when we pushed the "clue" button TWICE by accident. Two different people pushed it. Also this location gives us a private room. In the past and with other companies, if you do not have enough players, they partner you with others which we do not like. Or they make you pay more for private rooms. BTW, the online waiver did not work, we had to redo when we got here. Price - $29 a person. The least expensive escape room we have been to and the BEST!! I hadn't been to this location before. I had always gone to the one in Moana, but that location is closed. I was a little turned around once I got to the GSR but I was able to get directions once I got inside. They do give you a ten minute grace period from your scheduled start time before they cancel your game. But that ten minutes is taken from your game time. Break Through is on the Spa level of the hotel/casino. Once we entered, it's set up to look like a hotel lobby complete with the employees dressed in bell -hop uniforms. Obviously I can't give away any clues. I wouldn't want to spoil your adventure. But I will say, pay attention to story they tell and be vigilant with each clue. My group didn't make it out, but we were told we only had three more clues to find. Good luck on your adventures! read more

My son and I came up Sunday and we're going to leave Tuesday but the roads closed. We did 3 total escape rooms! The UBoat, sorcerer and Skulls. We didn't finish the sorcerer but did complete the other 2. Super fun bonding experience with my son. Amazing fun and reasonably priced. Also, the first 2 was with my son's friend and we weren't forced to have strangers join us. I've been in groups where strangers forced together. That is usually a nightmare. Absolutely LOVED coming to this escape room at the GSR! Our first time there, and we made reservations and paid online (easy process). Our room wasn't ready immediately, so we waited a few minutes. We played the submarine game, and WOW so impressed with the decor and attention to detail. There are different levels of difficulty that you can choose from (before taking the game), so that was a great option. 3 of us finished under the hour, and it was a reallly fun time. read more

We LOVE escape rooms. Breakthrough is one of the better companies in town that has working items, and the flow of the rooms is not confusing. If you are an escape room person you know how frustrating it is to do something correctly just to find out the lock or item is broken and you've wasted time. That was not at all the case here. We just completed our first room at the GSR location and cannot wait to go back for the Wizard room. They also offer an expert mode on their rooms to make them harder if you want. Highly recommend all of their locations but GSR has great rooms. And the theme of the lobby is absolutely amazing! read more

The game master told us we will only get clues for one puzzle at a time and so our team made decisions and spent time based upon that direction. We learned the direction was not true we found clues for puzzles 3-5 steps away which affected how we spent our time which hurt our experience. I wish the game master gave better and accurate directions it's not a cheap experience and it would have been nice to have been instructed clearly. read more

I have officially done all 4 of the escape rooms at Break Through Reno. Our game master this final time, named Atlas, was really nice and informative. This place is the best escape rooms in Reno. The room quality is so high, the rooms actually feel like you are in the story that's taking place. The puzzles have a wide variety of things to go from maneuvering though lasers, typing on computers, waving wands, an so on, its way more fun than some of the other escape rooms in town where they are basic puzzles. The rooms are very immersive too with the decorations, crawl spaces, many rooms within rooms. Even the lobby is cool! It's like you are in an old hotel. Overall it's an amazing place. The only bad thing I have to say is I wish there were more rooms to do! I hope they come out with more one day. read more
